Hey guys, am new to the gta v online (finished offline 4 times, so I understand the game), I got the premium edition from steam and I have been playing it for some.

To start with I hate these weird cars in this game, I wanted to play in sessions that contain real life cars and stuff, How can I find these sessions?

Thanks ♥️

Search FiveM.

There's uh...just regular sessions with the game's own elements.

Nothing pertaining to real-life.

Yeah you can, but if you die, you can't respawn.

Also it's Pay-to-Win as f*ck.

Seems like you're looking for a session populated by like-minded players.

Seems like you might have some luck by searching or posting in Find Lobbies & Players.

Or do you mean a gameworld where the vehicles look exactly like their real-life counterparts?

Don't try GTA in real life, folks. Noisy, painful, and litigious.

Try not to kill hookers.

Agreed. But if you're forced to, make sure you get your money back.

I think what he means is a session with none of that whacky sh*t. No futuristic tanks, no flying cars, no broomsticks, no laser weapons and so forth. Vehicles you'd find in real life.

Can't believe people recommend FiveM, short term memory much?

FiveM almost cost us gta modding as a whole, NEVER forget that.

Aren't you thinking of OpenIV?

And even then, it was Take Two the one who almost cost us GTA modding as a whole, not the modding community itself. Even R* themselves told them to chill the f*ck out.

I don't know why they forbid downloading vehicle mods and use it 💔

Everything you just said was wrong, the short version:

- FiveM used R* master servers for matchmaking

- R* told devs to stop that, devs laughed in putin

- R* sent official DCMA, ruski kids joked about it on their site, blabla they cant touch us etc

- Lawyers started contacting the devs personally, they shat themselves

- FiveM kids threw ScriptHook & OpenIV under the bus, claiming they didn't know better and it was the fault of these tools that they used R* servers for FiveM

- ScriptHook dev was already working with R* back in SA days, he was in the clear after basic chat, OpenIV guys were relatively new and less responsive, for whatever reason Take2 stepped in and sent OpenIV a DCMA very quickly (MUCH quicker then FiveM receiving theirs)

- R* had to explain to Take2 that the problem was the stubborn russian kids, not the community made tools, whole situation got defused, FiveM ceased development as Take2 and R* put full focus back on those kids.

- FiveM devs 'went into hiding', ~8 months later they changed nicknames and re-launched FiveM (this time with stolen netcode from Alt:V predecessor) 'with new devs' but its the same filth as before with new names.

Know your history, FiveM DID almost cost us GTA modding as a whole, and then stole work from another mp mod for their re-launch, and SOMEHOW it still became the most mentioned and played mp mod today..... And these days they're boasting about having 'fought the man' or whatever, seriously f- FiveM devs.

Fun fact, waaaay back I made a mafia2 mp mod with a few gta modder friends, 2 of the people currently in the FiveM team joined our team, stole code, wrecked our project, then released their own mafia2 mp... Yeah, I got a history with this filth and will never stop reminding people they almost destroyed GTA modding, and f-ing 15 or whatever years later they're still doing the same slav tactics.

Source?

I always thought FiveM used the GTA Online netcode, but I can't recall that they used any Rockstar servers for matchmaking. There are dedicated servers that are not related to Rockstar in any way.

Also:

"Here's the ironic part," FiveM user Ash Rogers told Eurogamer. "FiveM uses a Social Club hook in, it did this to make sure PEOPLE OWNED THE GAME, as a piracy protection method so people couldn't just crack the game and still get to play MP.

It's indeed nice to know the history, but in order to do it, people need to be sure that it's the objective history, not just your personal vision of the situation. So it should be confirmed by multiple sources.

Any link to your mod? Is the history with the FiveM crew published anywhere? Would be interesting to read.

Forget about FiveM

Here is the thing about v-mp.ru

  • Riski kids implemented their own netcode, completely independent from GTA Online that allows a server to support up to 500 players in a single session
  • Ruski kids fkd the Rockstar and allowed to freely use pirated versions of the game
  • They applied the "slav" tactic and use their own variant of SharkCards. So they DO make money from piracy.

Rockstar doesn't do s**t about this. What can you say about that?

VMP devs are laughing in putin as we speak

My point is that there is much bolder stuff on the market compared to FiveM. FiveM just happen to be more popular, but it's not their fault. They are against piracy and they are willing to cooperate with R*

Speaking of which, how exactly modding can be "killed" ? It will always find it's way, even if Rockstar decide to legally "shut down" the popular modding tools - alternatives will arise.
