Tonhe
The game is nearly PERFECT, except for some small things like: - The radar doesnt have important stuff like ammo or paint shop, hospital, etc. We almost have to draw a map to know where somethings are. - Some missions tell us to go to some places we have no idea about, you have to wonder throught the city until the place appears... takes pacience. - The reality about peasents and cars. They appear behind you and when you look again they are not there anymore, there are others. It is too random. - no motocycles !!! (i hear they will be in vice city ) do you all think the same way? how did you manage to minimize this 'problems'? other things you dont like? Wolf68k
- The radar doesnt have important stuff like ammo or paint shop, hospital, etc. We almost have to draw a map to know where somethings are. If the radar should all of that, you'd never be able to see where you need to go for missions. Has for the map, there are maps you can download of each island. - Some missions tell us to go to some places we have no idea about, you have to wonder throught the city until the place appears... takes pacience. The first thing you should do is the easy stuff like the R3 missions; Taxi, Fire truck, etc. This way you can to know the island before getting too far into doing missions. - The reality about peasents and cars. They appear behind you and when you look again they are not there anymore, there are others. It is too random. Who ever said this was a real world game? - no motocycles !!! (i hear they will be in vice city ) There was some in GTA1 and 2, and there are some you can download for GTA3 as an addon. I think it replaces some other car(s), I haven't done it yet. Mr. Wongs
Well, you have to consider that GTA3 is fairly old, and cannot keep up with the ever changing face of gaming technology. There are a few things that I can list off the top of my head: Poor AI. The character intelligence is pure crap. The worst example is probably displayed by the cops. Suicidal. Wreckless. Insane. They will do anything just to take you out, even if it means killing a dozen pedestrians or their own men. Missions. I found most missions (most) easy and quite repetitive. Get that. Kill that person. Return to your original spot. Not enough in-depth missions that require thinking or logic. Graphics. You niotce this as you are flying the Dodo. Objects in the distance appear as solid blocks of matter, and anly as you get fairly close to them the detail begins to appear. Not enough minor details, such as broken car windows, bullet holes, slashed tires, minor car components falling off. City Design. Not the most realistic city planning I've seen. Shoreside Vale, for example has no restaurants or shops, while the only gas station in Liberty City is located in Hardwood. No Multiplayer Spport. I was dissapointed that GTA3 had no official multiplayer gaming. This game could've had a lot of potential in this area, especially gang support. Again, these are only a few things that I could think of at the moment. Remember though, GTA3 is still a great innovative game that combines many genres in order to deliver a complete gaming experience. These small flaws become more evident as the standards for today's gaming software increases to newer heights.
Quazar™
i think the HUD is rather annoying. i mean its huge, lol. taking up half my screen. it would be nice if you could toggle what you want on or not want on. And i wish there was an offical speedometer. toggleable of course, like need for speed, you can toggle what you want on and dont want on.
Phatgordo13
- The reality about peasents and cars. They appear behind you and when you look again they are not there anymore, there are others. It is too random. this is the only one i agree with. Even in Vice City. For PS2 it happens. Needs to be fixed. Oh and more variations of peds. Wolf68k
I'm fine with the HUD, it's the display that annoys me. I was doing some police missions last night and I have done 10 of them and it tells me about a bonus and everything else, meanwhile I'm trying to get to the next one without slamming into another car and just happen to catch a flash of another cop car ahead of me between 2 of the letters. I thought the messages would never go away. As for the poor AI, I thought it funny as hell (not to mention I got some cash for it too) when I picked up 2 hookers at the same time. Took them back to my hide out, I was in POrtland at the time. Did my thing and then beat the snot out of them. An ambulance show up, but was trying to get from the back of the building. I drove around and just watched it is kept slamming itself into the wall and then blew up. I got the cash and credit for destorying it.

DJDeez
@Tonhe: I'm numbering your dislikes from 1 to 4, because I want to say something about them. 1. These things are on the radar in the beginning, but leave shortly afterwards, because then you'll get to know the whole city, so you don't need to see this kinda stuff on your radar anymore. 2. Learn the city and you'll know where you have to go. Just as for firetruck missions. Learn the area names and you'll know where you have to go in an instant. 3. I agree this is a bad feature. Warping and respawning isn't cool. 4. They are in vice. It's just my opinion, but I don't like them.
Wolf68k
Oh there weren't any motorcycles in GTA2? My bad, I never played it that much. It was too much like 1 and I just gave up trying to play it
-Gnobe-
there is a lot of things in all the GTA Games that ppl dont like, one of the main things is glitches, and lots of 'em ('course some of them are good...)
DJDeez
Nope wolf, there were only motorbikes in gta1, not in gta2. Maybe the gta2 programmers didn't like motorbikes..

TooCrooked
highly displeased with most of the tech support i received during the course of ownership, the myriad of unhandled exceptions ive ever gotten, and most of all, the lack of free look in classic mode. that last one REALLY miffs me
gta3pcguy
If you want a more realistic game buy Mafia .. whilst GTA3 is pure balls out anarchy and very cartoony Mafia is pure class .. its realistic and much more mature and the storyline pisses all over GTA3s. -fool-
Well the first 2 things you said are no big deal. It takes about 10 mins to memorize, or come very close to memorizing each level. It does show the pay and spray or bomb sites, save points, and all when you go to each island and disspear after a while. After that time you really should be able to know the level. And i was also disspointed with motor cycles. They were hard to use, especially with the overhead view, but damn those superbikes were so damn fast you could go anywhere in 2 seconds. I was disspointed with: 1. The amount of cars. Highly Dissapoited. 2. The 'half assed-ness' of ShoreSide Vale. It seemed like a tag on at the last minute because they really didnt need it. Only 1 person gives missions there. (The phone, and 1 mission for the end) and the rest is the airport. 3. The graphics. I dont know how to check but my FPS is like 2. Also the models for people are crap. Look at Donald Love. His top chest and bottom chest are so damn off i want to slice him in half. 4. Yea, the turn around and things disspear crap is bad. 5. Overall easyness. Most missions are not as hard as they should be. And they get very repetitive. Theres two missions that are the same exactly, the stupid boat missions. Exact same thing. The whole game is kind of repetitive also. Mostly its go around and pick up this and bring it back. And then either they shoot you in the car, which is ok about three times if its hard to do. Or you get out and act like a fps game which is stupid. 6. The fact it tried to act like an fps in some missions. I was more annoyed than dissapointed. 7. Police are too easy until level 4 and up. Also the police dont even go on the airport, which is half on the third island. They arent even a threat at level 3. Its so easy to get away and not get caught. The only difference between level 2 and 3 is the annoying helicopter. And level 2 is just poilce driving around flipping themselves over. 8. You can fall into buildings. I mean if they give a plane to you why wouldnt they put a top on all the buildings? 9. Unskippable cut scenes. I cant tell you exact ones, but they are a lot, every cutscene should be skippable. 10. Bad AI, character pathfinding. Really, they suck. Overall, its a great game.
Chezlar
(i hear they will be in vice city ) It's april 20th of 2003, not 2002. Vice has been out for half a year. This is not a wating game, Vice is out and old already. Update yourself.

TMKF_Patryk
i dont like the gay camera how it shows the rear and u have to leave the car and enter again to see normally, then when u hit a car or get into a race or so, it goes to rear view automaticly..... really gay
Brenteus Maximus
my big complaint was some storyline holes like who takes over the Yakuza after Asuka is killed? and who takes over the Leones after you whack Sal? and what exactly happened to that first Uncle BJ's store from the protection collection mission for kenji? i came back and it had yardie symbols on the back and it was all wrecked. but i find that odd since it was the diablos who actually robbed the store and stole the money. i dunno i just wonder what happened there. and theres other little story details like that. you're just left to wonder what happened. i dunno i have a few ideas on some of those things but since i'm no good at modding all i can come up with are stories but nothing for the game. although as an aside if anyone would like some storylines and mission ideas for mods i'd be happy to share them. just send me a pm. Vix
Few things piss me off in GTA 3. -Poor A.I. -Inconsistancies with the cars -- As #1 said, sometimes a car would be behind you, and when you look around again, it disappeares. -No official on-line support -- As someone above said, there is real possibilities for gameplay enhancing here. Oh, and before I forget... the main "pisses me right off" thing is the fact that a gun doesn't leave bullet holes in the walls/pavements/roads/people and, of course, cars. It would be ace if your car could get minor bullet holes and other minor damage to it. ATM your car is either damaged or not -- don't get me wrong, the damage rules, but there isn't enough variety in the ways your bodywork can get mashed up. I haven't tried Vice City, so I can't comment on that. I only hope a few of these problems are addressed in the near future.
marko2003
The damn helicopters arent real!! The dodo is hard to fly!! The graphics are bad like when you look behind u,u will see cars...but when u look again..THE CARS ARE GONE
Lagoon Bug
What I found annoying is that whenever I'm chasing a car in a police vigilante mission or something, almost every time I hit a wall or anything or a car hits me, it turns me the opposite direction. And sometimes it will turn me onto a different road entirely.
Bartleby
The damn helicopters arent real!! The dodo is hard to fly!! The graphics are bad like when you look behind u,u will see cars...but when u look again..THE CARS ARE GONE 1. I agree on this point, it's too bad you couldn't fly choppers. 2. The Dodo is only hard to fly if you're too impatient to learn the ropes of it. I was away from GTA3 for a couple months after getting bored with it, than popped it back in my computer, and flew the Dodo perfectly on my first try. It's like riding a bike, you never forget after you learn. 3. It's not a graphics problem, it's a spawning issue. Simply put, wherever you go in the city, cars will spawn there. If you're on Portland, there's nothing going on over in SSV. That's just the way the game works. It loads a new car if you turn your head, same thing with Vice City. Now on to my list: 1. No interiors, but you can't hold that against Rockstar. It was 2001 and it was rather unheard of at the time. 2. The size of the city. Too small. When I first played it I thought it was huge, but I got to know the roads and realized it was just simply too short of a map. I undoubtedly think this way because of the massive city that exists in San Andreas. 3. The storyline. After leaving Portland, you never hear from Joey, Toni, or 8-Ball ever again, which really bummed me out. I wish they could have been more involved with the later plot. EDIT: Wow, I just realized this is a two-year old topic. Don't bump topics like this if it's too far gone, Lagoon.
