I've always been one that's quite amazed at how R* treated their PC gamers, but if this game persists with forcing PvP and making me play with cheats, I genuinely think I'll go PC so I can do what you guys do with GTA and learn to block my router on how to stop anyone joining my game.

 

That or I do the FiveM equivalent. (If it proves the game I'm looking for and grief free). I do feel I'll just never trust a R* game in a public environment, lol. We'll see what comes, but I'm looking at gaming PC's more and more, ha-ha. (Although I do want to get back to my football manager as this game wears me down and pushes me away from these games. Might as well take a punt with the PC version if R* keep doing what they currently are).

To keep them lobby kinda "full", or "undeserted" ? Getting away from griefers (or any player), avoiding them, dealing with them sometimes is not difficult. And might get even easier with the next update.

I don't mind other players. I dislike the sh*ts who purposefully grief to bring meaning to their lives. If they simply wanted to fight other players then we have separate PvP modes but they don't, they want to bring misery on other people and turds like that should be punished.

For now they might be a minority. But with more incentive, like blowing up people's wagon loads and ruin hours of work, they might become Legion. 

 

Rockstar has said they won't think of seperate lobbies for now and want us to coexist in 1 world, but would it not work, seperate lobbies are a possibility.

Exactly, wagon loads of hunted game that have legitimately taken people hours to earn will become the new Cargo deliveries where people destroy them for the sheer vindictive pleasure of it. Unless R* nips this quick RDO will not become the MMO they make out it will become, it will become, as people have predicted, a copy of GTAO.

MMO's actively seek to separate PvP and PvE, they actively seek to stop players spoiling others fun and actively seek ways to bring the players together. Private dungeons, personal loot when in groups, friendly fire completely removed etc.

Both PvE and PvP are decent in this game.  Just not with auto aim.

 

PvE alone is a totally different game with free aim.  Hell, just hunting with free aim is a completely different style of game.

The AI is dumb and doesn't do much harm. In free aim it's more of a challenge but it's still dumb. The way the AI acts in Watch Dog 1 for exemple (haven't played the other) is much more interesting. PVP is decent but needs improvement.

They will always be a mionority. I mean it's the same debate that's been going on for 6 years with GTAO, and you are still not able to do your CEO/Bikers missions/sells in private lobbies. With every update it would be the end of GTAO end it never was. Although i admit the opressor MK2 kind of ruined the game haha....

Sure, Rockstar might want to move forwards, but griefers too.

as long as there are no seperate lobbies, griefers will have any chance in a forced PvP environment. Anti griefing measures have indeed decreased griefing by a truckload, but so did the lack of content (incentive to login).

We'll have to see how things play out.

Except we have been through MTU and Port Blocking for 3+ years

And we've had private/solo lobbies since day 1 to enjoy the other activities.

And numerous articles have been published about how the game is unenjoyable because of tryhards, cheaters, modders and hackers.

 

Griefers are not the minority, kind players are. Griefers are a large playerbase because they think harassing you is enjoyable and they are trying to make videos where they want to look cool and become the next big meme or troll-king on youtube.

I shouldn't have to play in a sandpit with children who want to smash my sandcastle and film it with their phone to get some views on youtube, or because they are too incompetent/unskilled to make their own sandcastle.

 

The only reason GTAO has managed to survive with this different communities is MTU, Port blocking and private sessions.... All of which do not exist in RDRO.

 

I haven't played with another human being in GTAO since Doomsday Heists, and prior that, the last time I played with a human was the week of PC launch, prior that, X360 launch.

I've dropped something like $1.3k on GTA V for the game and shark cards and I can guarantee you, I wouldn't have spent that if I was forced into a lobby with halfwits looking for a giggle by being disruptive.

Meanwhile one of my other favorite games is World of Warships and all I play is PvP there. Because it is relatively balanced and rewards skill and knowledge of the game mechanics.

RDRO in comparison.... yeah auto-aim, ability card crap, laggy af and someone getting a cheap kill on me as I walk away from a butcher.....so amazing....
