Brand new player to GTA V online and completely lost, I could use some advice

Hi all,

I will try to keep this short and simple.

I just bought GTA V and I have never played any other GTA games ever.

the story mode is pretty self explanatory and I am finding my way, I will sort that out as I go.

But the online part I am totally lost, and I have some questions for someone who has patience and doesnt mind breaking things down and helping a noob player.

Im an older noob btw Im 50 and been playing video games since 1975 when we got Pong.

So, I bought the Premium online edition with the starter pack, the criminal enterprise pack and the megalodon shark card, plus I had linked my social club account (from RDR2)and I did the free month of twitch/prime for the RDR2 rewards that also spilled over into GTA V so all in all I got a whole of game for $40.40 which is the main reason I bought it now, the other reason is I love RDR2 and I am waitign for their summer update and til then, I figured why not check out another popular rockstar open word game seeing how much I love RDR2, so here I am.

Ok, so I load in, and start looking around, mind you I have just started to play the story mode so I have no point of reference for any of this, I just did the very first jewel heist to pay the guy back for Michael destroying that house on the cliff.

So, I jump into online and because of the version I bought I have many free items, so I grabbed the free apt, garage, bunker, clubhouse, maze bank, etc..

after I did that I went to MAze bank and reg as a ceo and I did one mission to go get a car and then sell it.

I did that and it went ok.

Then I did something maybe I should have waited to do but I found a little exploit to gain RP  and I levelled up from level 5 to level 47.

I figured maybe this will unlock some things I need and I could really use any help I can get.

Now I am level 47, I have those things I mentioned plus the free cars and stuff, etc..

So ok, today I log in, and figure ok let me figure this out a little.

But I really dont know what I should be doing.

The phone never stops ringing with jobs and things I dont know anything about yet, I keep paying fee's for employees and stuff per day that I am not doing anything to generate an income from yet because I am not doing any jobs of any kind.

I want to be workign to pay for those daily fee's first and foremost, but where and for who?

I dont know if I am supposed to go back to my office at Maze bank, and reg as ceo again and do more car exports, or what, I keep getting notices to go to the clubhouse and bunker and here and there, I havent set up any other businesses because I dont know if I should just work this one for a while, or should I start several business and work them all a little at a time, etc..

So, I have like 5 million dollars left when I log in what should I be doing?

I went and bought some weapons and armor, but that is about it, I didnt want to start spending my money until I know more about what I need to be doing.

Mind you I like to play alone, I know, I know, I can do better with others, but I just dont feel comfortable working with others right now, I dont know anything and dont need to make new enemies right off the bat by letting people down and being that one guy who keeps screwing up missions.

I have money so I dont care that I can make "more" money faster by working in a group, I want to do this solo at least until I feel comfortable with the game and I feel like I have a handle on things and understand exactly what I am doing.

Do I go to flight school?

I dont know simple things like, where is my car?how do I get it or get to it?

Or I dont know very basic stuff like how to access a parachute when falling out of a plane or helicopter.

I take a cab everywhere because I dont know where it is.

I have a garage, full of free cars and stuff, and a clubhouse with two bikes, and I bought a mobile command center thing to run that exploit to gain some rp and level up.

So what do I do?

I know everyone has different views on this, I just want to know what is the best way for me to start where I can make a little money so I am not paying these people out of my savings everyday, and then what are my cues to go ahead and start another business?

Like do I just use what money I have and start other businesses now or do I wait and earn some cach adn rp first by running the one business I have,  once I reg as a ceo for that one, do I just stick with it or what?

I watched some videos about setting up the bunker with a business and the clubhouse with a business like the cocaine business I think it was I watched, and then bounty hunting jobs, etc..

I just dont know where to go or what to do.

Should I stay with maze and work that for a while first?

or should I spread out and add a couple other businesses to my existing properties and try to manage them simultaneously?

So Ill stop here for now.

I am overwhelmed, when I log in, I go to the casino, get my free chips, spin the wheel, I deposit any cash I have so I am not robbed, and then I head outside, once there I look at the map and then I just sink, I dont know where to go or what to do.

If there is someone here that is super patient and doesnt mind breaking this down for me a little, keeping in mind I dont know anything.

I dont know how to call my car or special equipment etc.,. so I kind of need a mini walk through of advice, what would you do in my shoes?

Thanks so much if you read this, and if you chose to give me some guidance I would be very grateful.

So, I just wanted to add to this before anyone decided to read it and maybe offer me some advice.

I took the time to look up and read some guides, but I think these guides were made back in 2015 or earlier so some of the specific information might be outdated and that is also confusing.

So in the guide I read it had a list of things you def need to buy, things that are handy and things to avoid.

In the list of things "must have" were the following items,

Insurgent pick up, Savage helicopter, heavy combat outfit, and Armored kuruma.

Now finding these items is a challenge, then when I did manage to find two of them, I wasnt sure should I really buy this right now? they are super expensive and I dont know why I need them or how I will use them, or if these arent current, I might find I should have waited or maybe bought an alternative that has been released since this guide, so I didnt buy any of them.

Its like buying a fast car, what was a fast car in 2015 is obsolete today, so it wouldnt make sense to buy it now.

I read the heavy combat outfit was in the ammo shop, but ill be damned if I can find it and the Armored Kuruma whatever that is, I have no clue where to look, I did look on the internet on my phone and found the various places to buy stuff but I couldnt find these items, I think I saw the Helicopter but it is super expensive and before I spend that kind of money I want to be sure I will use it and I need it at this time.

This is why I need some help, I figure I will run the ceo export biz out of maze bank and run a biz out of the clubhouse for now, not sure what items I need to buy to make that happen effectively so I am trying to read and find the answers.

I also read you can buy a cargobob? to deliver cars?this sounds like it would be great for these export jobs where you go get expensive cars and then steal them then sell them, am I right? and if so, where do I find a cargobob?

Also, I dont know should I be doing these things in solo sessions to avoid being killed by trolls?

Can I do them in solo sessions or private sessions?

I have been killed by jets I suppose not really sure, when I was just riding around trying to learn the map, I wasnt even doing a mission or job, I can just imagine how bad it would be to actually try to deliver goods in that environment, but I dont know the rules like, can I even do that in a solo session or a invite only session?

I found a video that showed me how to make a solo public session and it works, but I dont know if as a result that limits what I can and cant do and whether I can do certain jobs or not etc..

So, is that a good start, the ceo export business that I bought and then a second business in the biker clubhouse and warehouse I think, as a passive income, and if so, do I really need those items I listed?

Are they locked up behind levels that I havent gotten to yet?

I have lots of free time to invest in this game, so I dont mind the grind and taking a long time to figure this stuff out, but I am overwhelmed with questions.

I dont need the best way to make the most money, I just want to get a few things going so I can make regular money and have challenges and jobs to do so I have some purpose when I jump into a server.

So far I jump into and then make it a solo public session so I dont deal with trolls and griefers, but when I do that am I limiting what I can do as far as business goes?

I think I have a clue, then  I jump in, for example, I spawned in a I think a warehouse maybe a garage I dunno, there was a mechanic but not one vehicle, I know I have 10 vehicles somewhere lol but I dont know where, It took me 15 minutes to figure out how to leave the damn building and find my car, after that I just felt like, how can I be this stupid? I dont know what I am doing but I woudl like to.

So, lol any help would be awesome.

In my day games came with manuals, and instructions, it was simple, pause the game open the manual and read it for a few minutes and get back to the action, these days there is nothing, and these games arent exactly simple.

I dont need to start at the beginning, after all I do have some money, but I do want to start where  I can make regular money buy doing missions and jobs and grow from there and gain experience.

Should I just not play the online part until I play the story mode first?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading.

I'll try to help you mentioning some things:

Access your phone book and call the mechanic, that's how you get your cars.

Buy all the upgrades for the bunker, buy supplies for 75k and after ~2 hours sell it to Los Santos for 210k, if you sell this amount of stock you will only get 1 vehicle which should be easy enough to do alone.

The cargobob can be useful if you plan to do a lot of import-export which is also an efficient way to make cash, you can do this in a solo-public lobby.

That should get you going a little further.

If you are on Xbox One, I'd be happy to talk you through a lot of it in party chat. I'm close to your age. There is a ton to learn in this game.

First of all. Keep in mind the following:

  • GTA is a Sandbox game, there is no "proper" or "valid" way to play it. You can be a racer a money maker or a "freeroam warrior".
  • The ultimate goal of Rockstar Games is to trick you into spending the real life cash on the game by purchasing the Sharkcards. You should never do that.
  • The ultimate goal of the ~40% of the playerbase is to prevent you from having any fun. Just be mentally prepared for that.  Like the Marcus said: "When you wake up in the morning, tell yourself: the people I deal with today will be meddling, ungrateful, arrogant, dishonest, jealous and surly"
  • Try not to attack other players first. Some players do, but it rarely will do any good for them if they are newbies

If you decide to join a crew - avoid popular crews like IGN, MP3.

The more popular the crew - the less reliable it is.

Good. Now try do the same mission but only sell a car if it's a top range. Don't sell medium / low range cars.

It will unlock stuff, but you should also consider boosting your in-game stats (such as shooting/flying/driving, etc). They really do make a difference.

You can switch session at least every 40 min to prevent paying fees.

Almost every business is managed from the corresponding business property / building. Access the laptop and the game should guide you.

Like players suggest, get the upgrade for your Gunrunning Bunker

Then follow the pattern:  Purchase Supplies -> Sell Product (if any) -> Do stuff while the product accumulates -> Repeat

The very same thing with the Nightclub

Invest into the Armored Boxville to have some passive cash:

As for the active stuff, try doing the following:

Register as CEO - start one of the following VIP Work:

  • Sightseer,
  • Executive Search.
  • Headhunter.

Google some optimal strategies for these missions.

If you have money, invest into the Casino Penthouse and try to do the Casino Missions. They are actually well-made.

Also,

That's debatable, actually. For example, I can do better alone than with a random player

Yes, I would suggest to complete it.

All the vehicles you can buy from the in-game internet. To access the in-game web, use your phone.

The Cargobob is located under - Transport- Warstock Cache & Carry

Also, I dont know should I be doing these things in solo sessions to avoid being killed by trolls?

Can I do them in solo sessions or private sessions?

VIP work / Casino Work / Nightclub - Terrorbyte Client Jobs  can be done in private sessions

Don't even bother with Motorcycle Clyb.

The rest is only availble for public sessions.

I found a video that showed me how to make a solo public session and it works, but I dont know if as a result that limits what I can and cant do and whether I can do certain jobs or not etc..

Solo public session is a valid session for doing ANY type of work. Feel free to use it

Vehicle Warehouse, VIP Work, Client Jobs, Casino Work, Nightclub - good

The rest is not so...

GTA is not exactly a "game", it's more like a sandbox. It's a terrible product as a game if you ask me, as the game should be balanced.

GTA Online is not simple, partly because it wasn't designed to be that huge, partly because they WANT you to think it's difficult, so you can spend your real money as it's the most "easy" way to get in-game stuff.

Quote

Should I just not play the online part until I play the story mode first?

First of all, the story mode is better in many ways. For example, you won't be able to see any animals in online.

So yeah, I strongly suggest to complete the story. You will also learn how to fly Cargo helicopters and other stuff that could be used in online.

I have a playlist of me starting GTA Online from the scratch, some ideas may be helpful for you.

WoW

Thanks so much, that is a ton of information.

I will go through it carefully,

The version of the game I bought came with the Megalodon card I paid $40 for the game with that card, the premium online starter pack and the criminal enterprise thing, plus a few promtions as well, so for $40 I got a whole lot of stuff to work with, which is why I decided to try the game.

I didnt actually buy a separate shark card nor would I, I dont midn a grind and actually am looking forward to it, I dont mind it at all, I just want to set upwhat I do have so it is workign for me from the start while I learn more and get going in the game,

I am currently lost at one particular point in the online experience.

not really knowing what I am doing, with the version I bought many things came free like the maze bank offices, a clubhouse, bunker, warehouse, nightclub, motorcycle clubhouse, etc..

So I went to the clubhouse for example and tried to set up a business there, a free one is available to me, so I chose that for now, but I am stuck at how to actually get it started.

Same at the nightclub

I hired a bunch of people and I bought the three available upgrades, but I have no product, so I click on the various employees for example to assign them to work on something but I get the message I have to set up and begin production of a counterfeit cash factory first, is that the one at the clubhouse? what do I actually do?

I dont get it.

Like my nightclub is doing well as a nightclub, I promoted it, got a dj, etc.. spent $$ on the extras like dry ice lights, dancers, etc.. so it is doing well, now I want to use the basement warehouse space to get a hidden business going, but it tells me I need to first set up and get a cash factory going, and then I am confused.

I want to add the warehouse work to it, I hired everyone, I upgraded everything and I am good to go, but no actual illicit business, it tells me I have to first set up and begin production first, but where do I do that?

I just cant seem to get any products to sell anywhere even though I bought in, I hired help, I upgraded, etc..

I dunno I am just lost a little on these points.

What I am trying to do is figure out how to get the cash counterfeit thing working on its own, then do something like that at the nightclub to so I have these secondary businesses running at my legit locations.

But now I am thinking are they connected, the motorcycle clubhouse and nightclub businesses are they goign to be relatede to one another or are they titally seperate?

why does it say I need to first set up and begin production first? how do I do that?

I dont get quite how to literally get that done, I think I am missing some basic steps, and not being familiar with the game I get confused about when to use the phone or pc or reg as a ceo or what that even does to the game.

You mentioned how people basically want to kill you and troll you, so I have been joining either solo sessions, private sessions or using the workaround to clear the server so I can learn the game unmolested, but will that limit my ability to to equip these businesses and stuff?

Sorry for the questions, I really want to get a handle on this, I have three places I invested in that should be producing but they arent and I am not sure how to get them going.

The car one I get I can go back there and reg as ceo then I think use the phone to take jobs or something I cant remember but I did do one mission and stole a car then sold it, so I think I can do that one, but how do I do the nightclub warehouse one and set up the cash factory and how do I do the clubhouse one, I wanted to buy the cocaine one but didnt have the $$ so I took the free one that came with the game it is a counterfeit one, but again, not sure how to make it actually get started.

I did purchase a ton of stuff while I had the money between the twitch prime thing, the 2 step verification thing, and the version I bought plus the casino I had an awful lot of money to use so I took some premature advice and I bought several items I would need along the way, although I dont need them at the moment lol I have them, so after all that and setting up these free businesses I upgraded everything in them and hired staff so I woudl be able to do this, but now I need to actually get the secondary business going and I am quickly running out of cash.

But I have an MOC, a cargobob I thought I coudl use on these car delivery missions, etc.. but again, I really have no idea how to actually use them for each thing, I had hoped it woudl be a little more self explanatory than this.

I need to go back and read all the stuff you left for me, I only glanced at it before responding with this, so I am going to take some time to read it now and see what I can learn there.

Thank you again very much, I will go back and read everything you took the time to reply with.

Thanks man, we will have to connect one of these days coming up maybe after the weekend if you are on and hopefully I can jump in and tell you what I am seeing and what I want to do and maybe you can help me get it done?

That woudl be fantastic, I wish I had a friend who actually played this game and I coudl watch them or have them stop over and see my exact set up and show me where I am going wrong and what I am missing.

I have a lot to read here and consider, so I am going to get started on that in just a moment.

What I ultimately want to do right now is figure out how to get both my nightclub and my motorcycle clubhouse running a secondary illegal business so I will be generating some money from them both as I go along, and the car imports and export business I have via maze bank, then I assume I will be doing missions per each one as I did with the first car import and sale I did, I had to go to a photo shoot, steal the car and then deliver it, get it fixed then sell it, I did all that somehow, so it wasnt that hard to figure out, but these other two are driving me nuts, I keep going round and round, I drive out to one or the other and get on the pc but I cant make heads or tales of it.

I dont know if I have to reg as a ceo each time I want to go o another business and check on it or set it up or whatever, etc..

I dunno just lost as can be.

I truly appreciate your generosity though man, thanks a ton, I hope I can take you up on your offer and get this figured out.

https://www.youtube.com/user/hwkabro

All the vehicles you can buy from the in-game internet. To access the in-game web, use your phone.

The Cargobob is located under - Transport- Warstock Cache & Carry

Also,

VIP work / Casino Work / Nightclub - Terrorbyte Client Jobs  can be done in private sessions

Don't even bother with Motorcycle Clyb.

The rest is only availble for public sessions.

You said a lot so first off, thank you very much for taking your time to do that, thats great man, I appreciate it.

A few things you mentioned I wanted to ask you about.

Ok, you said,

"Almost every business is managed from the corresponding business property / building. Access the laptop and the game should guide you.

Like players suggest, get the upgrade for your Gunrunning Bunker

Then follow the pattern:  Purchase Supplies -> Sell Product (if any) -> Do stuff while the product accumulates -> Repeat"

Ok, so I am trying to do that but I get to a point on each computer where to me it makes no sense or I am missing something.

Also I dont own a gunrunning bunker that I am aware of.

Maybe I do and dont know it I dunno, but I do have a bunker, is that the same thing?

I selected things in the beginning and I have never been to some of them,

I dont understand the difference between ceo and vip what they mean and when to use one or the other.

Also, I am not interested in what will make me the most money, I just want to get these working, then I will graduate to more profitable means as I understand the game and find my way around later on.

What I have specifically is a nightclub I have up and running, and below it a warehouse and a garage, I have several employees and all that but when I try to select one of the many listed jobs for them to do, each has a lock on it and the one I tried today said, something like you must first set up and begin production of your cash factory.

what cash factory?where is that how do I start that?

I want to set up the nightclub warehouse as that one seems like it is already running well otherwise, and I have maze bank import biz I can do too, plus I own a casino penthouse and yes I an do those missions too which I will once I get these set up or at least the nightclub.

Ideally I would like to get the clubhouse and nightclub up and running then do a few more import jobs while those other two start producing a product I can then sell and after all that or in between it I will try some casino work.

But to do any or all of that stuff, is there a way I can do it in a private or solo session so I am not also dealing with getting destroyed every 5 minutes?

This confuses me because when I drove over to the motorcycle clubhouse I bought I went to the pc there and tried to chose one of the available business, I didnt have enough money for the cocaine one, but I noticed there was a free one because of the starter pack or criminal enterprise thing that came with the game I bought,  I dunno, but it was the counterfeit cash operation or whatever it is called for free, so I selected that one, but again, I got to a point where I didnt know what to do and so it still isnt set up, then I went to my nightclub and accessed that one, got to the manage warehouse screen and got that message about the cash factory set up and etc.. so I dont know are those related, is it a coincidence? I just dont know what to do to get that started.

I am nearly out of money so I cant buy much else, I need to work with what I already own.

I just want to get the nightclub doing something in the warehouse and I want to get the motorcycle club running the counterfeit cash business I selected, then I can also do the import and export thing and casino work I will try too, but for now I am stuck on the nightclub and motorcycle clubhouse.

I think first thing I need to do is figure out how to set up a cash factory and begin production so I can assign my warehouse guys to that job and have it running passively in the background while I go do other things like casino jobs or export jobs, etc..

Also, I havent been to any custom shops with my cars and stuff, do I need to do that to make sure they are insured so if I do get destroyed they will get replaced? do I do that first?

If I want to use the cargobob for those car import jobs, well never mind when I get to that Ill either figure it out or Ill ask then, I have enough on my plate trying to get this nightclub warehouse working on something.

My gamertag is SPLEEFHOUND and I'm usually on around 10:00pm CST. My wife also plays so if you don't get a reply it may be her that's on. What's your gamertag?

You do.

Go to Paleto Bay and setup your bunker.

You don't have active properties because you didn't take time to visit what you already own. Just visit the property (enter it), the game will tell you what to do

Ok, how about a new question?

When I log in to online, can I join a invite only session and be able to go to and set up these businesses?

Can I do it in a solo session?

I spawned in, was immediately killed while getting on my bike, I was just going to go to the motorcycle clubhouse and try to set it up again see what I missed, then some guy from Epsilon was on screen which I dont get at all, but ok, I re spawned and someone else killed me, I never got to do anything I was there for all of 10 seconds.

I need to go in and set up these businesses but cant do it in a public session.

So for now, Question #1

What way do I join online so I wont be immediately killed yet I can still set up the clunhouse business and then nightclub warehouse business?

Invite only, private, solo, etc.. other?

Someone showed me to go to settings, network, test NAT and that clears the server, but I dont know if I am then limited in what I can do.

If you guys can please answer this one, I can try to get going.

Thanks

I am 95% ready to say forget it all, I will just wait for gta VI and start with everyone else as this thing is way to involved for a new player to even grasp, but I am determined and tenacious so I keep trying despite how I feel right now.

Ok, I went to the bunker, got the cut scene, went to the pc it say I have to join a public session to access it, so I am not sure how to do that without it leaving this session and starting a new one, which brings me back to my last question above ^^^ can I access these computers while in any other session than public?

When I join a public session I cant get 10 feet before I am killed.

I know you guys are well versed and I am probably just irritating you at this point, I just cant seem to get started.

Can I join in any other type of session than public and still use the computers to set up these various places?

I am on xbox one

I already did the clubhouse so what do I do just ignore it and accept my losses?

I just hate to have wasted my money and resources on it and then not use it, but if that is what you are saying then for now ok, Ill forget it.,

It says I need to be in a public session while I am at the bunker and I want to access the pc, so, if that is the only way then I guess thats that, I cant get ten feet down the road in a public session, I havent yet, I am killed every time by someone.

If there is a way for me on xbox one to get into a session without other players then Ill try it, otherwise I guess thats a wrap, I dont see how I can do anything in a public session.

If I am missing something please let me know and I will try that.

Thanks again for all your help, I do appreciate it.

Well, I managed to get to the bunker alive, I hit set up and then had to make a run for materials which I did, so thats set up, I dont know what to do now, but I did get that far, then I made a trip back to my office and tried to import a car or two but was destroyed each time, one time the car itself just blew up? lol I dunno, I think maybe I am just gonna free roam, explore, collect the 54 cards for RDR2 and do the bounty missions for the other RDR2 reward and call it a day, the online "games" just arent for me I dont think, Ill wait for GTA VI and start fresh with everyone else, if that day ever comes, I think in time it will.

6 years after the fact is just to cumbersome to try and adapt to this game for me and my simple brain, there is just way too much going on and that I dont understand it takes away the fun.

Im glad I tried it, it looks amazing and I can see where if you knew what the hell was going on and how to do things it might be fun, then again I have never seen more trolls griefers and try hards in my life, on any game, and who needs that?

games are supposed to be fun.

I played RDR2 since launch and avoided online until March 24th, 3 months after launch, I got in while it was still beta, and it was pretty rough at first but now I am invested and there is nothing I do not know about the game, the map, the missions, etc.. so I get it, if you were here early on and played the game as it grew this is all probably very simple to you, but to me it is nothing but a headache and a big ass bottle of stress.

Ill say this, the people who decided to help me, were simply amazing!! I mean just awesome, especially given my questions and level of knowledge, I have been online since online was a thing and I know all about trolls and how people can treat new combers, but you guys were awesome, so thank you very much for trying to help me understand the game a little.

Its just way over my head and way too many things going on for me to enjoy it, as soon as I think I understand something I am being attacked by helicopters and cops and all sorts of explsions, lol Im a bunny in a lions cage out there, so back in my hole I go.

I generally avoid online interactions with games for these exact reasons and this was just a reminder of why I play single player games.

I will play the rest of the story mode and as I said Ill do glitches, casino stuff, collect stuff, explore the map and all that, so Ill still get my moneys worth out of it, just a shame that I have about 30 million invested in vehicles, buildings, clubs, etc.. and I will never use any of them for anything, my moc sits in the bunker, I woudnt even know what to do with it.

Thanks again your community is really great, that I appreciate very much.

imo the CEO import/export car plus warehouse, the bunker and the nightclub with it's attendant mc businesses, in that order, will buy you everything else in the game, everything they'll offer in a dlc and set up enough near-passive income to OC somebody every 40 minutes (or whatever the cooldown is) for as long as you own the game.

i'd recommend tylarious and the professional as sources on the minutiae of setting it up. i found it to be an enjoyable grind. learn how to solo-lobby and don't be afraid to use it in the middle of a mission if beset by cargo griefers.

I know this might be a little late but here goes: To get a solo public lobby on XBone, Be in your office or garage ect.while in lobby with others 1 Tap xbox button on controller. 2

Scroll down to settings and tap A. 3 Go to Network then right to Network Settings and tap A .4 Go to right collum find NAT test and tap A. 5 When test is done back out of system with B button until you get back to your lobby. 6 Wait about 5 seconds before you move your character. Everyone will start leaving your lobby.Technicaly you left them but the game says they left you.  When this happens you are free to go about your business.  One point though every so often and always before you sell press down on Dpad make sure no one has come into your lobby. Final note: Solo lobbies WILL have NPCs that will come at you instead. Hope this helps.

Some people listen, others don't. However, GTA is a tough game to start out at 0 legitimately right now. It's in the last 9-14 months of its lifespan/active support/updates (I think) and stuff is so damned expensive now. Compared to starting out 4 years ago, it's worlds apart.

Yea...but its not impossible

u can still start out the same everyone did at the beginning ... doing client missions and heists and stuff

Then as soon as u start making some money u can get right into the grind doing headhunter and sightseer ... $50k is not hard to come by

Alternately...find some people to play with...The crew I'm with is on everyday and its easy to make nearly a million in a single night even without businesses ... as long as u are willing to get in a delivery vehicle and drive and have a few hours to spare

I've restarted from 0 exactly a year ago and now I'm rich as hell again (legitimately).

I would argue, that it's actually EASIER to start with all these discounts, free cars, passive incomes and removed restrictions.

"Toughness" is a subjective term. It's all in your mind. GTA is what you make it.

I didn't read everything in this thread, so maybe it has been said already. I'd strongly recommend you to buy the armored kuruma. You are protected from losers who try to kill you for no reason (although it's possible if they manage to shoot through the small windows but that rarely happens), it's fast and pretty easy to drive. Its my best friend to do missions. The only downside is that its not capable to protect you from rockets.

Good luck!
