Gun Autolock on Oppressor MK2 Pilot/Driver

So being able to autolock using a gun/rifle on the person riding the Oppressor MK2 was removed during the DLC. Mistake or on purpose? Incredibly frustrating.

Maybe a balance against them being blocked from being able be passive?

I hear where you’re coming from, but not being able to lock onto something with a gun that has the ability to fire rockets at you, or just blast full speed into you, would be an incredibly lame method for R* to “balance” things out.

Have you seen the way they re-balance things over the last 6 years? 😩

 

I use my OpMk2 to get around as it's fast, flies, fits into tiny places, and (if needed) can deliver a limited number of OP-missiles into NPCs or revenge/defense against players.  I never ran around griefing players with it.  I was usually in Passive.

Now I can't do that.  Sure, players on the ground can't auto-aim with their guns any more, but everybody else (including other OpMk2 a**hats) can still target me all day with their kill rockets and homing launchers and I don't have a choice but to take it, assume all are trying to kill me and kill first, or play in private or "public" lobbies.

 

If I could have an unarmed OpMk2 that could go Passive I'd buy one right now.

So this reply was posted in another thread covering this topic here and it sounds like its just a bug from R* messing with the following camera.

However, I found out R* changed the following camera for the Oppressor Mk2, I believe this is the problem that caused this bug.

I'm not sure why R* decided to do that, I would need someone on PC with Codewalker to confirm this if the tool can open up or extract "cameras.ymt"

If this is the case, then we would need to wait for a new title update to fix this.

I also use it as my primary means of transportation for all those reasons. I’ve been getting better at the missile dodge technique for the griefers, but seems like more people are starting to use the angle’d attack.

It's pretty funny you say that. I've destroyed a lot with mk2 and also been shot off of it at ridiculous range by auto aiming noobs. I think it's quite fair. The passive change let's the tryhard mk2 rider be dealt with by other bigger tryhards. But there is no reason either, a noob of level 40 should be able to autoaim you off the thing as you whizz past minding own business. Target what is abused and that's what rockstar seem to have tried to do here
