GTA VC.exe not working on Windows 8.1

I have downloaded GTA Vice City. After playing for sometime the game stopped working. I watched many videos on Youtube to find solution to the problem.  I launched a troubleshoot program and set the compatibility of game to be able to be played on Windows 8. But the problem still remains the same. Another solution was to activate Data Execution Prevention(DEP). I watched many videos on how to activate DEP. I found that for DEP activation on windows 8.1 secure boot should be disabled. Then I disabled secure boot in BIOS settings following the steps shown in the videos that I watched. But DEP still didn't activate. I request you to please give best solution to problem that I am facing while playing GTA Vice City.
