The First Person for GTA III

GTA 3 is a great game. As everybody knows, the devs were planning to implement a FPS mode in the PC version, but something went wrong. That is quite sad, because during the 20 years a few tries were made to make this camera mode complete, changing the game experience.

 

Mod features:
-Fixed the mistakes of VC's FPS mod.
-Custom animations.
-Fully compatible with Widescreen Fix by ThirteenAG.
-Camera moves smoother, no jitter.
-In-game settings menu, accessed with Alt-b.
-Gamepad support.
-Supports both 1.0 and 1.1 exe (No Steam).

 

Update 15.12.2019
-Fixed locked camera in garages.
-Reduced radius of player's extended collision.
-Now it's compatibled with Classic Axis by _AG.
-Added fp_weapons.dat which configures fire animations of weapons.
-Added new demo-anims by Shagg_E.

In the showcase mod video, the fov from widescreen fix when you are inside a vehicle and speeding it up in first person view looks so weird lol.

Looks like it doesn't work with ClassicAxis. Game crashes when switching cameras.

Really awesome! however there is some feedback i'd like to give:

-It's incompatiblie with skinned peds (Skin and Bones) mod which is really a shame.

-Animations are kind of whacky especially shooting with Uzi/Pistol and reload animations. (Could be stil improved i guess?)

-It's not using actual game's sensitivity settings.

-Not compatibile with ClassicAxis.

 Other then that, its really awesome, i enjoy it!.

I was waiting for mod like this such a long time. Good job. But, I have one strange thing happening in my game with this mod. At night windscreen of the cars is disappearing for some reasons, wheh i am driving them in first person mode, and it looks a bit weird. Is it supposed to be like that?

This mod is truly amazing, awesome job!

 

I agree that the pistol and the uzi shooting animation is a bit wacky and could be changed a little bit. Same goes for the bat, pistol, uzi, grenade and molotov cocktail idle animation which makes Claude look like he's suffering from Parkinson's disease. Also, is it possible to lock the camera when driving a car? What I mean is that as you're reaching top speed the camera moves backward which is a bit annoying. I personally don't use HD car mods so the faster I go, the harder it is to see the road.

 

Apart from that I have a minor suggestion, would it be possible to restore the shaking motion that follows an explosion? Having the ability to toggle it on and off in the menu would be a great option in my opinion.

It's a game method for drawing particles from vehicle perspective.

Unfortunately, original fps animations is not compatible with this mod.

I noticed such a bug. When using The First Person for GTA III, along with 2DFX, artifacts appear at night when boarding a car. When leaving the car, everything is ok. In the afternoon, everything is fine. You can easily check in the first mission. Can fix it?

i would suggest adding an option for disabling those first person animations and playing like in the gta vc fp mod

I suggest replacing hands with invisible hand model when driving. Claude's hands on a steering wheel look really patheti(

This is really impressive mod and i really love it!

 

What i hope to see in the future

- Look Backwards on foot by pressing middle mouse button just like in 3rd person view

 

- Fix collision of the player when going to Leone's Mansion, between the bars.

wow, not only these custom animations are quite ugly, but you also added this animation of weapon inspection like in cs go. You could make an option to toggle new animations on/off. Standard 3rd person animations might not look very good in first person, but at least they are more authentic.

ak47 and baseball bat animations are ugly?(in the last december update) Or you talk about the other ones? Because other ones are not complete(they are just first drafts, that was made just for "playability" purposes).
Btw, default 3rd person animations can't work with this mod.

Would be also nice to bring back shaking camera when the explosions happen and what not, at least a little or partly.

If you're using Ginput you have to disable it, then you can change settings and move sliders.

The game crashes when I open the settings menu after disabling Ginput.
