Spent a few hours yesterday messing around with the update trying to get on to record a video for today.

 

Here's what I managed to do. Two copies of the game. Modded is on old update. Unmodded for online is on the new update. I had the offline unavailable activation required issue with the modded copy after going into the unmodded updated online copy. So impressed with how I managed to fix that without updating the modded copy.

 

This is for Rocstar Social Club versions of the game (and I assume retail). For steam I have also noted what Finkone explained to do and I linked his video in the description.

 

If you are already updated and do not have a backup of your own update.rpf, gta5.exe and playgtav.exe, you're stuffed. If you have backups, then you can downgrade it and do this and there shouldn't be an issue.

 

Edit: Sorry if people feel this isn't needed in here. Am keep seeing in my emails the amount of people asking so that's why I posted what I discovered

 

You can be banned for doing this as it's detectable. So i wouldn't recommend it

Where did I say I am modding online?? This is for those who are wanting to stay on the previous update where ragehook, lspdfr and many mods work perfectly on until everything is updated, but at the same time whilst still being able to have an up to date version that you can go online with. What gives you the idea I am talking about online modding? Sure I wish we could play mods in multiplayer, but I am not condoning online modding at all.

Maybe you should've added what you just told me so others don't assume that & Downgrading is still detectable even if you only stay in SP

Ok I'll reword the thumbnail and title when I get on my computer. I choose that as a title because it was short. I put still be online as I explained exactly how to do that, you have a second copy which you update which allows you to be online. Not sure exactly how to reword it though whilst keeping it short like that :p

When reporting an error, always show what's inside your ScriptHookV.log.

First off, Alexander, thanks man, great stuff!

 

Now, i have a question for everybody, is there any chance somebody can point me to some sort of guide (or write a quick and dirty one for me?) on how i can embed resources in the asi file??

Im working on a mod that uses a bunch of image files for a custom UI, but i dont wanna release an asi and a bunch of pngs, i just wanna release a single mod file.

 

I know for a fact its possible to pack resources into asi files, i used to do it in DxHook (sort-of-ScriptHook but for GTA4) and for GTA5 i've already seen asi's that do it too (theres a nfs speedometer asi that obviously has custom textures, but is just one asi file) but the how is whats eluding me, ive been trying to find the underlying code for createTexture function so that i could maybe tweak it to accept resources rather then file paths, but no luck at all. Any tips on embedding textures would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!!

I've heard that Alexander Blade said that he put something in the scripthook code that will alert Rockstar if you attempt to go online and issue a ban. Obviously you'd have to be using the bypassed version. Can anyone confirm this? Also, not sure if you guys are aware of this. I was recently permanently banned and spoke to rockstar support on the phone. If you receive a permanent ban, you are also banned from story mode. I recorded the call and have proof that this was confirmed. The game crashes at startup. You can't play the game at all.

Of course someone already messed with the Scripthook to use online...

 

Alex can't you make a sneaky scripthook that allows for "Online" but as soon as people go online with it, It sends R* a message with the mod files that person is using?

The game already does that since b350 when detects changes made by the hook while playing Online , it's up to R* what to do with this info .

 

EDit: Nevermind. That is the answer I was looking for.

Rockstar's attitude to this is simply, in order to get this status, you need to have been banned 3 times, and the second one should've been more than enough warning, and chance, to rectify your actions.

you're obviously playing online with mods activated if you got permanently banned...

 

Rockstar will ban you for 2 weeks if your using scripthook in online for the first time.

 

If you do this again for the second time, you will get ban for 31 days.

 

If you do this for the third time then you will get a perma ban .....

There aren't standardised ban times, a review of the account is made and the relevant punishment is given. It's

1st offence: 1 week, 10 days or 2 weeks.

2nd offence: 1 month, 45 days or 2 months.

3rd offence: Permanent ban with SP privileges revoked.

Let's clarify the situation about cheaters being banned after the latest patch , R* were using the detection system which raises cheater flags for the ppl who use mods in GTA:O since b350 , it was clearly said here , it seems like they just decided to use it only with b463 release .

Could we simulate interior states in open world by natives? I mean some shaders are working only in apartments like Franklin's mirrors in his house at the hills. I'm not sure it is a privilege of MLO type of creating interiors.

 

So game could think that player is in interior while he's really in exterior.

after listening to another person record his conversation with rockstar the on gta 5 game that can ban you from story mode is the steam version. as far as the retail copy im not sure but I don't think they can

People dont buy games, they buy a license to use the game. That comes with some conditions just like any other contract, If someone breaks those conditions that contract essentially gets voided so they can no longer play the game

The last time I had this problem, there was a random (forgot its name) file that had came up in the directory that I deleted and it solved the issue that time, but I see no such file this time and I have no idea how to make this thing work with my mods loading and my game not crashing anymore. Am I doing something wrong? help appreciated.

 

P.S I did update to the latest files of both of them btw

It can not run GTA5 in story mode. The game starts but the first picture falls with an error.
My last ScripthookV.dll version 1.0.463.1, but when I have the details of Windows, 1.0.394.3 shows there. I deleted dinput8.dll, the game went without errors.

I received 3 temporary bans before being permanently banned. 1st was 1 week, 2nd was 2 weeks, 3rd was a month, and 4th was permanent. All for using scripthook and mods online. When you get the permanent ban, they also ban you from story mode (game crashes) on steam version.

This. I was surprised when the support rep admitted this to me over the phone. However, you agree to these conditions in the EULA. "LICENSE CONDITIONS You agree not to: ... reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, display, perform, prepare derivative works based on, or otherwise modify the Software, in whole or in part; ... TERMINATION This Agreement is effective until terminated by you or by the Licensor. This Agreement automatically terminates... upon your failure to comply with terms and conditions of this Agreement, including, but not limited to, the License Conditions above. ... If this Agreement terminates due to your violation of this Agreement, Licensor may prohibit you from re-registering or re-accessing the Software." The problem I have with this is that when you receive a temporary ban, Rockstar warns you that you will be banned from online if you continue to break the rules. They don't say anything about banning you from single player story mode. I guess depending on how the EULA text is interpreted, they're covered. It just seams really sneaky to me.
