there are a lot of rumors about the scrapped story mode dlc,a ridiculous one suggests that it would be a zombie apocalypse,tezfunz2(the  rockstar insider)said that it would continue the story of each ending,so how about we speculate a little?,tell me your speculations about what it could have been be,unfortunaly we will probably never receive a story mode dlc,but who knows?maybe one day rockstar will run out of ideas for online and maybe for the final gta 5 dlc they do a story mode update(which will probably never, never happen)

Tbh it was probably Franklin’s new crime life with heists. Because Shawn Fonteno said they were workin on something with rockstar.

To sum it up:

The story DLCs would be "what-if" stories for each SP character with a central theme surrounding it.

Michael was supposed to get a alien invasion DLC where he would fight off a alien invasion, it is not known if he would be directly helping the government in said invasion or not, it is also not known if Franklin and/or Trevor would appear in the story.

Franklin would a get Zombie apocalypse DLC were LS would be overrun by zombies, some streets and buildings would be barricaded with new props, said props can be seen in the Arena War creator(that nobody seemed to have a f*ck about) if your Arena War game has a Apocalypse theme.

Trevor would get a Agent styled DLC were he would work for the government in some missions, a good chunk of content of this DLC was reused in the Doomsday Heist DLC for Online.

Apparently all of those stories would be past the ending of the singleplayer Story.

There was also meant to be a Casino heist in single player, but I do not know if that was a story DLC or just cut content like the Sharmota Job heist.

Doomsday heist was meant to be the or at least a major part of the Single Player DLC.

I think it just would've been more heists

Originally there are two other "characters" one is an ex agent, and the other is like franklin, the gunrunning, doomsday heists, is for that ex agent dlc, and the lowrider, Heists, nightclub, import export is for the "hood" guy

But since online is more profitable, they milk it as a cash cow, shame, could've been the rendition of san fierro I/E in story mode...

According with some gta file leakers, there were 3 dlcs:

-One continuing gta v story with trevor working for the fib

-Another about an alien invasion

-A zombie dlc for ps4, xbox one and pc only

I believe the very first DLC (titled Agent internally) starred Trevor and was a what-if scenario involving a casino heist. If I remember right, it would've involved agencies and ended where he uncovers some kind of document, which would hint towards the next DLC, featuring Franklin and involving an alien invasion. It was meant to end similarly to the Doomsday Heist, where Franklin would discover a hidden alien base under Mount Chiliad, wrapping up all the easter eggs you find in the base game. The railgun likely being a remnant of what Franklin would've used against the final boss.

The final DLC was meant to be a next-gen exclusive involving Michael and zombies. The buildings around Los Santos would be updated with a more apocalyptic look to accommodate this. This is why Rockstar randomly added a f*cking hatchet and flashlight to the game, as well as improved blood effects and melee executions that all involve slashing through the head.

Every seemingly weird and nonsensical feature you see added to Online is a recycled remanent of these DLCs. And what's worse, Online itself almost has as much scrapped content as singleplayer. Rockstar was toying with expanding Online with Liberty City, going so far as to create LC branded clothing for characters and porting over vehicles from IV. This never came to fruition though, possibly due to an expansion of this caliber making a new GTA seem a lot less enticing, so the scraps found their way into the Lowrider DLC. Take this sh*t with a grain of salt though. My memory sucks and it's pretty hard to remember everything I've read from the beta hunt topic over the years.

And this is total speculation on my part but the fact that Rockstar was so quick to takedown a fan-made Liberty City conversion several years after the fact, indicates they may have shifted gears and decided to include the city in a new game instead.

I didn't know about this, wow, it's unfortunate. On one side I hate DLCs but on the other, games this big tend to fall short and I hated how they solved DLCs on IV.

What the...?

What was Grand Theft Auto V supposed to be? What were they smoking while designing these DLC?

In short... WTF?

It was because Undead Nightmare sold MORE than TLAD/TBOGT, and was better received, all of their DLC's were highly praised for being proper "old school" expansion packs but I remember people liking Undead Nightmare more since it allowed the characters they got to know through the main story to be put into completely different scenarios. Plus with this they wanted to take it to the next level and essentially have different versions of Los Santos for the player to mess around in (Normal/Alien Invasion (Earthquake)/Zombie Apocalypse).

i believe some of the ideas they had for story mode DLC were made for online instead. look at the casino DLC for example. people begged rockstar for years to open it and they finally did- only it is exclusive to online.

There were many really interesting side quest that could have been exploited but did not actually go anywhere, like the talking dog, Trevor's mother and possible love stories with Patricia and Mary Ann,

A lot could be done with the FIB spaceships and many others...

I would definitely enjoy more GTA V Story more.

There are some good things on the Online side but it lacks the story lol

The Lost and Damned. Ballad of Gay Tony is to me, the best DLC’s  ever for any game period.

Not only did each of these have a beefy story expansion. They also brought with it new vehicles, new weapons, new enhancements, new mechanics and new content and modes for multiplayer as well.

Rockstar could have done the same for GTA 5, but they decided it was more important to milk the online only.

Even Undead Nightmare for RDR1 did the exact same thing. New story content, new weapons, horses, mechanics and guess what? New multiplayer content as well.

I'm quite new to the topic of GTA V's scrapped story mode DLC content, but how much evidence is there behind these claims? Because to me it looks like you're just trying to fit all of the online-exclusive content we've received into your narrative of what you *think* the story DLC would have been and what content was designed for which character.

There's an internal design document that was leaked that was from late 2012-ish that revealed where GTAV was up to, what their next projects were going to be (confirmed RDR2, etc) and talked about the DLC plans for GTAV, even stating one of them was going to be next gen/PC exclusive. This document has been around for years BEFORE a lot of the GTAO content, so that's how we also know it's true because a lot of the content was re-purposed into GTAO but still left with names that were more suited to the original intent for the content. There's also the scripting side of it which proved things like the Doomsday Heist/Agent DLC by laying the foundations for it much earlier before again it was actually revealed in GTAO in its re-purposed form.
