Penthouse Decorations

If anyone has yet invested valuable chips on penthouse decorations, I would have a few questions:

 

1) I noticed that some items can be placed in different rooms. If I buy Item X for room Y, can I place X in room Z as well for free/very minimal cost, or do I have to pay the full price for X for each room.

2) I have seen a few random comments about the additional decorations that you can buy in the shop downstairs not appearing in the decoration menu in penthouse. Can anyone confirm and mythbust this (and mention their platform).

3) Any idea of the total slots and total amount of individual decorations? (As a long run goal may or may not be fun to try to fill as many slots as possible with individual decorations...)

1. All items are one positional use only and you cannot buy duplicates. If you a buy a twerking statue, you can place it in only one place.

2. Not to my knowledge. I have noticed there are some paintings and floor pieces that can only be placed in certain positions, based on size.

3. I don't think anyone has datamined all of the decorations in the dripfeed yet.

1. Correct. You buy one, you can throw it anywhere you want, at any time. No cost to change positions. I've already reached the point where I'm just throwing things into spots that I bought.

Forgive me as it's REALLY late and I need to go to bed, but for 2, are you referring to items like the double-sided art (for example) not showing in rooms?  If so, each room has multiple locations you can have your works on display, and you have to cycle thru them.  For example, in the master bedroom, you start at the one nightstand, but you'll need to cycle positions to get to the desks, or wall paintings.

1. not really true, there are pieces you can only put on some places, not all

    i bought this big marble piece i wanted this in my bathroom, but wont let me place it there only in loungeroom.

you can buy chips every in day game, i can buy 50000 at one time (money is no problem for me).

everytime im in the casino i buy 50000 chips, when it lets me.

you can also buy chips in your penthouse, simple use the phone,

also won a lot with blackjack and 2 spins gave me also chips.

also did all the work missions (for the award) and found all 54 cards, they also have chip payout.

 

if you open the decoration menu it tells you how many slots there are in the room.

also 1 slot can obtian more items like the big cabinet in the loungeroom.

if you bought something you can change places without extra cost.

also there are free decoration like plants.

just go to youre ppenthouse open up the menu and scroll down to bottom, some things are free.

 

i really really love this feature, it allows you to design youre own appartment.

i hope this will be possible in the future for other ""old"" appartment, office etc or may be future mansions.

I've purchased several paintings and other decorations for the penthouse, but was never presented with options on placement.  Is there a spot in the penthouse where you decide on locations

When inside your penthouse go in your interaction menu, penthouse management (or something) then penthouse decorations, then it auto selects the room you are in, select that and read controls bottom right for picking spots and sub-spots, then just scroll trough the list of stuff you can place there, you can buy it right there aswell, but chips only.

Now that i've started decorating my penthouse i want the ability to buy a lot of chips at once even more tbh, some expensive paintings and stuff. Dont like most floor pieces either so hoping for better ones from dripfeed, and gimme items that link to other gta's or R* titles please. Also cant wait till they start enabling action figure collectibles because i bet they come with a cool decoration item like the playing cards did. (the statues would already be great but there might be even better things?)

1. No. Once you buy an item you can place it in any spot in any room. Moving it between spots doesn't cost anything. Each item is unique though.

 

2. I have made one of those comments because I didn't know where to place the "We're All Mystified" painting. After some more searching I found out that apparently it can only be placed above the desk in the bedroom. Also the two-sided pieces can't be placed in the bedroom or entrance, but the lounge so you need that add-on at least. I'm on PC.

 

3. I have no idea but they've got to add a lot of cabinet pieces if they want us to fill all the spaces in the different cupboards. They hold like 15+ items each.

Since i'm surprised to discover a thread like this doesn't exist yet, lets talk about the penthouse decorations?
- What is your favorite or most expensive decoration? and where did you put it? show pics ^^
- What sort of decorations would you like to see in the dripfeed?
- Any decoration you really dislike?
- Thoughts about decorations coming to other places? old apartments? new ones?
- Thoughts about this leading up to furniture placement like was cut from SP before launch??
- What do you think about the prices?

- Anything else you want to mention about decorations?

 

Heres my answers to the above (but dont feel any need to answer the same list, just discuss decorations here)

I love my "Love Fist" guitar

I want more floor pieces, i dont really like any of the ones on offer now, bought that pillar of blobs with holes in like 8 colors out of boredom, beyond that let me buy a life size statue of any of the comic characters please, oh and i want that puma they showed on the real-world website, the horsey is at a weird angle where-ever i put it. I really dislike the dogs and the marble woman statue, and everybody has them lol.
I REALLY hope we get decorations at more places, ideally all existing appartments but i'd be just as happy with only new appartments supporting these, oh and yes please on taking this a step further and letting me buy furniture aswell.
Finally i do feel like these decorations are a bit on the expensive side, its not that i dont have the money to get them, the problem is collecting the chips to get them, either make next decorations a little cheaper, or just let me buy more chips at once.

I bought the O... painting on day one of this update, but have not been able to put it on the wall of the Penthouse. I really should create a support ticket about that missing item.

So far everything on it is pretty much basic and too expensive for my tastes, but I appreciate the fact that R* has finally put this in the game.

 

The addition of this feature leads me to believe that mansions will be coming in the next update and this feature will be expanded upon.

Anyway, I yet to buy any art, but so far the Yacht and the Hermes are my favorites.

Maybe it goes on specific spots, noticed that certain items can only be placed in specific spots.

Select room then tab over to different locations... even of the same types some peices cant be in certain places

This is just because you can only put it on some spots, just browse around available spots a bit, i have that one too and know at least 3 spots where i can put it, but theres prolly more.

I hate how the peyote party one is only possible to use in the guest bedroom tbh, i really wanted that in my lounge or entry hall

So I've filled my Penthouse with the available stuff I like but I still have loads of cabinets/shelves which are like almost empty. I've heard you can get one more object by collecting the 54 cards which I'll do for sure. But there must be more with so much space to put them.

 

My question, if anyone knows. Are there any pictures of decorations that I've heard will be 'dripfed' through the casino store? The dripfeed thread doesn't list them. Someone said it is in the Grand Opening thread somewhere, but that's 200+ pages to look through.

I'm going through the files right now to get screenshots of those decorations to add to my dripfeed thread. As far as the means I have available to me, I'll only be able to get model screenshots.

I found this video on the G.O. thread, there's a chance that what the quote refers to was this video - which only shows the ones currently available -, we'll see.

I guess I'm just too impatient or was expecting there to be a sentence saying that they're being worked on.

In regards of organising all of this stuff together and how to find specific groupings of art yet to dripfeed, I'm fairly certain that only people with the know-how like Foxy, @Fun 2 or @WildBrick142 can know exactly how they're grouped together.

 

If such a thing is impossible to find out, however, I figure that the best way to go with it is to get all of these screenshots together, paste them in my database in a section dedicated to them and then make the groupings as they're released by Rockstar themselves - effectively thinning out the list of disjointed decorations without a group and ending up with everything neatly organised by the end. This is also the only way I can think off of getting nice screenshots of those items if no one makes a compilation of them ahead of their release - like how Foxy did with every action figure.

 

We already have a grouping which was the one released with the DLC itself, so that's a start at least.

 

I'll be doing all I can to make this possible but it'll take time. Might as well and go the extra mile and do the same for special shirts since I've seen people ask about them as well and no information is out yet.

That looks like 2 Bigfoot dancing. which is unrelated in SP to Bigfoot I thought. I haven't seen that one somehow. Then again, I settled pretty fast on the smaller living part of the Penthouse.
