Still can't get over the mirrors being locked to secondary paint lol, wanted to do colored engine covers so I added some rim tape to help distract from the mirrors.

 

Outside of the nose I'm still loving the design of this thing.

I'm not sure. I was in my office mod shop and l noticed first the strange  inf.peg  badge on the back, then as I zoomed in it changed to the proper little badge, but I zoomed back out and it didn't change. I thought it might be like the Gauntlet classic roof thing where it changes with distance but it doesn't seem so. It just randomly changes, not sure what causes it. 

 

I remember someone saying something about this before, on another pegassi car??

Let's review the history of top supers in GTAO:

  • Entity XF was the best vanilla super, and it has good traction but understeers a lot.
  • Turismo R came out with Business Update, and is an overall improvement over Entity XF (it doesn't understeer).
  • Zentorno from High Life is slightly mad, but still a very controllable AWD super if you don't senselessly push it (and if you do, any super will crash anyway, just in different ways).
  • Osiris from IGG1 is the one of the dullest supers around with zero personality other than well-behaving.
  • T20 from IGG2 is practically just another Zentorno.
  • FAFF brought us the X80, which was actually wild with barely any traction despite its aggressive track machine aesthetics, but was also only top for three weeks before Cunning Stunts RE-7B (a very controllable track machine) wrecked it.
  • RE-7B got nerfed in Bikers, and became more tame and controllable to people who exploited the speed glitch. Still flattens X80 on regular racing tracks.
  • RE-7B (and the rest of the downforce cars) got nerfed again in Gunrunning, and Tempesta temporarily became top. Again, a very controllable super, almost Osiris-boring.
  • XA-21 replaced the Tempesta once it is released as dripfeed. This is the fastest "old-school" super (no downforce mechanics) in the game, and it has very good traction for its time. Not a wild car at all.
  • Smuggler's Run buffed downforce cars back to the top, with Vagner from Gunrunning being the new top dog. I don't think anyone needs to elaborate on how good and controllable the Vagner is.
  • The Vagner sat on its throne for almost two years, before the S80RR finally beat it in track performance (but not top speed). The S80RR itself drives like it's on rail.
  • S80RR sat on its throne for only a few weeks, before the Emerus came out. Emerus is currently the fastest super on a track (as anyone should know), and it oversteers like crazy and spins out if you so much as apply a little too much throttle in a corner.

 

I fail to see how, save for the three weeks when the X80 was the undisputed king of Supers, the Emerus is "much easier to drive compared to the old school supers".

 

And while the Zorrusso, which is the actual subject of this thread, is no Emerus, it's still not a hyper-sticky car like Vagner or Autarch, let alone S80RR. Hell, I have less trouble keeping the XA-21 controlled.

IMO, all Supers should have 811-like top speeds and X80 Proto-like handling, being the top of the food chain performance wise, but being hard to control as a result too.

 

Sadly, vehicles needing some skill to drive instead of being on rails all the time aren't popular and that's a shame.

When I first saw this in the dripfeed, I wasn't that amazed. But as we approached the release Thursday, I became more and more hooked on it. When I took it for a spin, oooh boy, that was fun. 

The Zorrusso has ended up being my 2nd most favourite Supercar in the game, just a tad away from the legendary Nero.

It is a nice looking car--how does it compare to the Zentorno traction-wise?

 

My fear, as always with new cars, is never buy them when they're new to the game... you never know what's going to be nerfed in the near future.

 

Case in point: The Entity XF had THE best traction in the game when it came out. Incredible car; could almost climb near-vertical surfaces... then R* nerfed it (no doubt once its sales had peaked). 😠

Well, if I had to summarize this car with one sentence; "Rock-steady, but kinky-wild in the 60's" - As in, incredibly good traction in low-mid speeds (with Spoiler added), but may suffer traction loss over bumps in high speeds if you keep its pedal down, and will make it prone to lose grip and start to glide - the engine is at the rear of the Zorrusso, naturally making its booty stick out in corners, and also, it is rear-wheel-drive.

Think muscle-car performance. 

However, it is so unique to drive around in in First Person when a roof isn't applied - it finally gives a meaning to own a supercar Roadster in this game, which you couldn't really say so much about the Voltic or 811. I quite like it. It has some quirks that I'm not the biggest fan of (no Mirror options, "thin" wheels, exhaust flames being incorrectly placed...), but it makes up for it in the performance. It is, quite frankly, a kinky one.

This is coming from a pro racer perspective tho. I'm a avid racer from the racing community and can tell you most people from the racing community will say the same thing about these new breed of supers being too easy to drive. These new supers carry soo much speed and momentum around corners as if the car is driving for you. 

Also, the older supers are less consistent to the new cars. The old cars like Zentorno, T20, Nero, Turismo R, FMJ, and x80 are not consistent every lap. These cars dont handle bumps very well, so every lap is different. 

If you are over steering in the new supers, it's because you're not flicking the left stick or you're flicking too being too aggressive on the stick.

So sad that cars in this game are rated on how good they take boosts from bumps. I mean racing nowadays is just about who gets the better brake boost, it became so boring since people started to abuse those mechanics, the whole take a good corner, using lines, all that are less useful than going side to side, i used to race seriously like you, but after about a year seeing curb boosting being the main factor on a race that started to disgust me, to the point that i dont race anymore unless is a relatively plain track. I buy cars now based on how much i like the driving, and i have to say the zorrusso and most old supers are way easier to drive than the emerus.

I feel you.

What's been working for me is:

 

> come in with 10-20% more speed than what you would usually need

> release the gas for 0.5-1 second to get it to roar and start the turn

> repress the gas and tap the handbrake (0.3 sec) (or brake then handbrake, if too aggressive) and counter steer slightly

> the car will settle on a slide trajectory at this point, mostly affected by the counter steering

> when you feel the angle start pumping the gas and counter steer

 

3 out of 10 times I still get it to throw too much ass and spin to a stop, or not slide at all but kind of stutter, but otherwise I rather like how I need to work for my money to get it to slide gracefully.

Ah, you're one of those that thinks every new car should be faster than the previous? Cause otherwise your comment doesn't make sense, 2 of the new cars from the last update are the new two fastest supers, not every car released needs to then be the cream of the crop for that particular class until the next release.

Not every update, but we have to agree that cars got faster since 2013, not as much as the game portraits, but they did. So i think is fair to translate this to the game.

Definitely, and what I would expect, just irks me when someone complains about a new car not being a top of class competitor as if every car released has to then be the new fastest or something.

I will buy this car when it goes on sale.  I didn’t see it one time in the last 2 weeks during 2X money/rp stunt races.  Is it not good on the tracks?
