Itinerary for new DLC?

226 members have voted

  1. 1. Whats your usual routine when a new DLC drops?

    • Buy everything with max upgrades as quickly as possible
    • Take some time exploring the content, checking the forums and such, before making any purchases
    • Cars first, everything else next
    • Small stores first like clothing, tattoos and then build your way up to the big things like the properties
    • Other (please explain)

Recommended Posts

What do you plan on doing as soon as the DLC drops? I know many different players have many different rituals in how they usually approach a new DLC. Some people tend to buy everything as quickly as possible, some people like to explore around the options and view without purchasing etc etc..

For me personally it goes like this:

1) Buy the property first, customize it to how I please with the upgrades that I want

2) Check the clothing stores, masks, ammunation, tattoos to see if there's anything new in those places

3) Check/buy Vehicles

4) Go into the property to explore it fully and see whats up!

5) Missions that come with it etc etc

Exactly. F*ck that.

I didn't grind until my eyes were bleeding for years and give myself Carpal tunnel syndrome replaying the Bogdan finale to spin that wheel once a day trying to win things I want like a chump.

First thing I'm doing is getting my room, then looking at the new clothes, then buying any new cars I like

First of all I don't like to check the Forums or even the Newswire at all when an update releases, nor I like to watch a livestream, even if I won't be there on day 1 (like in the case of this update, unfortunately): one of the things I like the most about these updates is the surprise effect, discovering how everything actually works in game and comparing that to what I already knew through the trailer, info and such. That said, I usually go to the 'small stores' first (clothes shops, barber shops, tattoo parlor etc.) so I can kinda get 'in the mood' of the DLC, and seeing my character in the cutscenes wearing clothing related to that specific update is way cooler in my opinion. After that I buy the main property, and I usually don't buy everything right away because I want to use those vehicles in missions first, if that's a possibility, so I can try them out and maybe even get Trade Prices for them. Yes, I did this with Arena War too, clothing included. Don't judge.

At the end of everything I read the Newswire, the reactions of you guys on GTAF, and the Patch Notes.

Gotta buy the property and all of its upgrades first. Everything else comes after.

Since I'll probably not have enough money for a penthouse and the cars this update offers do nothing for me I'm just gonna buy suits.

I love suits.

DLC day plans

Wake up. Bathroom. Get dressed. Breakfast.

Fetch carbonated drinks, fully-charged tablet, and take root in front of computer.

Browser tab 1: GTAF. Browser tab 2: FoxySnaps Twitter.

Tablet: Twitch stream of DLC (probably Broughy).

All the refreshing

???

Profit.

That evening - download DLC.

Maybe play on it if the content looks like I'd enjoy it. Otherwise browse the B&M topic to lap up the lovely salt.

Stay up till 6am my time to see it hit my update screen, get mad when xbox gets it first by a few mins, start downloading with the 1 friend who might be with me in the party. Refresh foxysnaps until my finger flys and the update is finished. Don't come here unless it's taking longer than anticipated and foxy is taking a few secs to release the next screenshots. Get my free thing with twitch I redeemed, start the DLC by getting dressed for the occasion this time. Roll up with an expensive car to fit theme. Property first, make sure I don't buy the car that can be recieved for free by finishing the missions (waiting to see which it is)

Ah sounds very similar to what I do! I love the exploring of a new DLC, and always starting with the smaller things first!

At work I have time to check the Forums and have a first view on content. At home I will do the following in the game (probably Wednesday as Tuesday I will be at the cinema watching the Lion King with my gf 😑 )

1) Check the clothing stores, masks, ammunition, tattoos and hair styles for new content. Just buying what I really like, most of time just one or two items.

2) Check vehicles web site on the phone, just going to buy car I really like. Probably none if we just get the vehicles from the trailer

3) Try to enter the Casino and check the Roulette etc.

4) Gamble till I lose all my Money or I win it all (to lose it later again)

5) Hopefully wait for drip feet car I like

6) Not going to buy a single property as I am a Biker and Tuner and I don´t like all the luxury stuff to much

7) Kill people that try to enter the Casino (naaah thats a joke)

Do the hunter mission soon as a possible can be done, and hope it is a hunter mission till then.   Vist the BnM within 24h.

(May not even be a mission I just saw it in trailer 🤪)

I'm going to buy the penthouse and then buy and mod the new Obey and then start the missions. I'm not too fussed about the other stuff I just want to play the missions.

Whats your name on Twitch if I may ask?

I'll probably do my best to hold off on buying at first. A little concerned about the missions should they require 4 people (opposed to 2-4), but hopefully it's 2-4 as it's easier to get one friend to play than it is 3.

In past updates I've tended to buy first and ask questions later. This time I'm going to take a wait and see approach. Give it a bit, see how everything plays out and what everything is really capable of before I drop any money. I've got close to 4.5 million in the bank right now, which sounds like a lot, but in GTA terms it really isn't. I have my Twitch Prime account linked so I'll get a penthouse, but I'll still have to pay for all the upgrades (which are going to cost a fortune, I can guarantee that).

Also I want to see how we're going to get Chips. Winning them via the prize wheel, and at the tables of course, but if you have a run of bad luck and blow all of it, how will you get more?

yeah 4.5m is nothing. But honestly, by the looks of this DLC, its not going to be anywhere near as much as arena wars. Those vehicles were extortionate.

Probably just watch Broughy's VoD breakdown*, then bother to get online if there's a free t-shirt. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Keeping my expectations at Gunrunning level (read: rock bottom), so I've no real plans for Tuesday, and I'm not getting my hopes up about some drastic improvements in car variety/quality, clothing items, bug fixes, etc.

At this moment I have 7 millions, surely I will make other 3 millions this days. So my first investment, if i can afford it, will be the PentHouse (Surely with no mods). If i have some extra money, surely will buy one car, I would love so be one of the first in mod it and upload pictures in the Appreciation thread.

The rest is going to be fun to explore and discover with time, enjoying

Edit: I forgot, play the new missions/heists. I hope the storyline of the DLC makes me enjoy

First of all I make sure I have everything in terms of food and drinks in order. Then I load up the game as soon as the DLC is installed. Go to Legendary Motorsport just to have a look and do some drooling. Check out the property and buy whatever property I’m interested in.

It’s only when I get around to buying vehicles that I check the forums to see what’s worthy of purchase and what’s not.

F*ck spinning a wheel to have a chance at winning items/vehicles (or to get a reduced price). I just hope I can buy all that stuff outright if I feel like it and that it’s not locked away behind winning it on the wheel (whether it be clothes, accessories, art for the suite or whatever).

Next, I check out clothes, buy weapons (if any), tattoos, masks etc... and finally, I’ve decided with my friends that we’ll play through the new missions together tuesday evening/night.

I’m really excited!

Lonely-Martin

Get my Ellie and drive fast to see if the flags are gone/changed. (If I don't learn of it before).

After a lil' look at stores and tattoos etc. I'll head on over and enjoy any cutscenes, though I don't expect much in the regular stores but worth a look and why break tradition, lol.

Then I'll have a look around the property/casino and check the websites to see what's up. From there, buy a penthouse and learn about garage storage asap (if any, beyond the 10 spaces they mentioned) and learn about the museum too.

I'll be holding off on the co-op missions as my lad wants in so I'll do those later in the day, but I just wanna have some care free fun with this more than anything so I'll be indulging the minigames once my cars/storage is all set up to go.

Whereas the rest of us will be inside spending all of our lovely MONEY on penthouses, condom dogs, cars, valet parking, poker, wheel spins, etc., while you poor griefers huddle outside shivering in the bushes/air and fuming with jealously LOL!

Moving on from my childish swipe...

This update? I'm going to buy whatever I want, blow a hundred million (if I feel like it) and worry about it later. That's not a boast, but what virtual cash is for. I'm not going to spend my cash carelessly chopping and changing interiors and crappy ornaments, and will definitely keep an eye on my spending, but this is not the time to worry, especially if you can afford it.

When it comes to gambling, here's a tip: Set aside an amount that you're comfortable losing, let's say 10,000 to 100,000 dollars. Blow that cash, have fun, and then leave it for the day. Don't gamble with the aim of winning big, but gamble to have fun. Statistically you will lose out in the end, so don't make the mistake of gambling to try and win big.

I've got a feeling that this update will result in more people moaning about lack of cash than ever before! Be careful out there, folks.

I was joking...

I'll do the setup mission in invite only so no one interrupts the cut-scenes. (I am assuming there will be am initial setup mission)

Then I'll claim my free penthouse, and pimp it out.

Then I'll get my hands on some chips and hit the BJ tables.

and BTW you can only gamble with CHIPS and you cannot buy chips with GTA cash.

I'll start with the room and decorations then I'll check out intel on cars. Flags = absolutely no buy no matter how good do they look, because there's not a single car with flags that I am enjoying. Probably, some missions after because that's where it is for me. Clothing? I don't really have high expectations, but I'll check it out and maybe re-glitch my female character back to male if there's something interesting for lads (suits).

I'll buy a penthouse for the garage space, then buy whatever day one cars I like and drive those around for a bit. After that I'll go to my new penthouse, check it out and see what missions I have to do. Unless they require two people to do then I gotta wait for others. I'll go mess around in the casino itself and check out that casino store for car memorabilia. After all that I'll look to see if they've added any new suits that don't look tacky as could be.
