@Mach1bud is there any way you could play New Vegas on PC? The free mod content alone would keep you obsessively occupied playing for AGES. Easily over 90+ hours alone. And that's before you factor in all the DLC that comes with the base game. And all the mods which fix all the vanilla bugs that came with the game & DLC

Hell naw. Play the vanilla version first, you will bog yourself down with Mods and tweaking and changing stuff that it will kill all the fun. He only has three days to kill before Casino, dont bog him down with Mods.

I will agree he is better hunting down the Game of the Year Edition (Ultimate?) for the DLC.

Nah I prefer to play vanilla games. Bugs and all.

Not sure which one is on PS Now, probably the ultimate version.

Random observations probably already noted but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This vehicle is next to the Wheel. This is probably the vehicle you win, and therefore probably the first week(?)'s prize?

The highest chip denomination is $5000, the smallest $100, in the roulette photo. That's fairly reassuring - not chump change, plus they have dollar signs on rather than just numbers.

Prizes from $200 to $100K?

The DLC for New Vegas is just as good or if not better than the Main Game. It has an overarching story that you can uncover but dont need to realise/understand to enjoy the DLC. Each DLC is a completely different theme etc and the DLC themselves are great.

You missing out. I played it just after release and even then HD texture mods were needed to fully enjoy it.

Bullsh*t. Its one of those game thats full of lore friendly, experience improving mods. Just like Witcher or Skyrim. Downloading top rated mods from nexus ain't that hard, just a click of a button. I would recommend better textures and thats all he needs for now.

And just as mentioned above - something he surly won't do in just 3 days before casino drops :v If I remember correcly you can't even start those DLCs from the start of the game (I might be wrong, its been years)

well I don't know how the vanilla version on console plays out performance/game play wise with the vanilla bugs. So maybe. But seriously doubting if he'd be able to beat the game before Tuesday going hardcore vanilla. Even with game bugs aside, Obsidian's non linear game design for MQ, side quests etc. will be challenging.  Especially depending on whatever perks/first character build is selected.

And to be fair, to really experience vanilla New Vegas (as a complete story from a chronological timeline), he'd have to play/beat the DLC (while simultaneously playing the base game) in this order:

Old World Blues

Dead Money  <-- good luck on beating this DLC in any sane amount of time vanilla wise. lol

Honest Hearts

Lonesome Road <--narrative end for DLC chain

If he really didn't give a [email protected] about beating the game and wanted max value, he'd go PC route and install the Tale of Two Wastelands mod. Which would let him play BOTH FO3 and New Vegas, all their DLC and content packs using the same character and save game. And zero loss of game progression.

Regardless of the platform, NV is one of the best FPS/RPG open world games made to date. But odds cost wise are probably going to favor PC IMO. Not sure what the bargains were in the PS store this summer. But Steam just ended a massive season sale. Where you could get all the DLC and base for under $20. Unbeatable bargain IMO for a game that could be easily played on any PC sold after 2009.

Back on topic: If the casino card games play anything like single player New Vegas/San Andreas ones, you'd better believe ppl are going to find ways to cheat the crap out of the game. 😄   It's not a matter of how (because Youtubers the likes of MrBossFTW will take care of that) but when aka how soon after the DLC drops 72 hours from now. 😂

PS the "win this vehicle" cordon seems fairly large, which is nice. Bigger than it would need to be for only cars and bikes, but who knows.

Quite intrepid of you.   😄

Then go with Ultimate edition and may the Fallout gods of Fortune favor thee my ardent disciple!

ps: if you went with the twitch promo for the casino, you should consider streaming your vanilla playthrough.  Should be interesting since even lore fanboys like Oxhorn use some form of mods.  Also can't recall the last time I saw a New Vegas player streaming a pure vanilla game. Hell tbh, I personally can't recall what the vanilla game looks or plays like anymore since 2009 🤣

I hope that gang wars arcade game is like double dragons and streets of rage, and playable with gta dollars and not chips.

I never said any different. I just said he would be better playing the game instead of getting bogged down in the rabbit hole of Modding. The first playthrough of any game should be vanilla.

If he likes the game then getting all the DLC at once in the Ultimate Edition is the better course of action no? Buying the base game and then buying the DLC or a copy of the Ultimate on topic is foolish.

Could be a fun first week heh.

Also it occurred to me that you might get 1 *free* spin per day of the wheel. But then you can pay per go?

I'm just gonna kill time with it until the update for GTA drops on Tuesday. I have no intention on beating any game right now. I also don't have a PC capable of playing games decently. I hate playing on the PC anyways even if it were good enough. Also I pay for PS Now, and it's one of the games on the service so it's basically free.

Also guys, it's not that serious. Just thought I'd play a game that was set in Vegas before the Casino releases in GTA.

i'm sure a certain type of players will find a glitch to ruin all that

I won't forgive R* if they don't do it right after how long they took to release the DLC. I recall an open underground garage, on the street where the ammunation store near the Casino is, in which you can go inside and at the corner there's like an invisible wall. If you go there you can't die to anything cause weapons don't work there and players, cops can't shoot you there. I assume it's a glitch of some kind but they should implement the same at the garage. Accessed the shared garage? You can't use weapons or anything. Just drive your car, or others cars and point with your finger.

In that website, it said spin the wheel once a day. I hope that is not all thats allowed.

I don't see us winning the car. If you land on the vehicle on the spinning wheel you probably just unlock the trade price lol

It's i think a missplaced collision that they forgot to remove.

It's a weapon collision.

Which means nothing can shoot through.

A specific collision type exists for the camera, vehicles and characters too.

Anyone know anything about weaponized vehicles in this update?

Or patch notes?

ANYTHING... any table scraps will do...

I know that the update is less than 72 hours away but I need something now lol.

If there is a weaponized vehicle it better be something from James Bond.

I been looking at the screens of the penthouse.

The bar/party area and the arcade machines are in the same room. The office is off of this room. Basically confirms that the arcade cabinets have a few presets to choose from.

Also this is where that room is located.

Can't wait for this DLC to drop and to spend some money on gambling to get the Casino Royale feeling.

JB700 MKII, with:

  • Anti-Oppressor never-miss missiles
  • No heat-signature so can't be locked onto
  • Bulletproof glass
  • Bomb resistant
  • Oil slick
  • Rocket boost
  • Flare counter-measures to assist allies
  • Collision Avoidance System to avoid accidents and also avoid pedestrians (no using it to troll by running people over)

A perfect defensive vehicle.
