The computer is like any other computer, laptop or even ur mobile phone. U can't use it 4 business.

This is just stupid. It should at least work like the office computer, and ideally it would have Terrorbyte levels of functionality.

Ok, honestly the best thing of the update for me is the fact that Tom Connors is (probably) portrayed by Chris Parnell. Saying probably because he sounds and looks an awful lot like him, but I ain't a 100% sure.

Oh yeah, yes correct.

The vagner still has better top speed than annis though so its close, idk.

But the car he asked about has lower lap time and lower top speed than the vagner.

Butter Toast

How do we add chips to the safe? And is it possible to get chips all over our penthouse floor like we have with the money on the floor of the ceo office's?

Vagner is probably a better choice for a variety of tracks, but tracks without to much top speed the Annis seems like a good choice. The difference is so small that it probably comes down to the driver anyway :)

you are also right about the Vagner being faster than the Thrax

Sorry for the post in advance, I have spent hours looking (in the wrong threads obviously) what are the time dependant tasks for this week? I am sure I read somewhere that some rewards were looked to this week.

I think this week you can just log in for a tshirt. You have till August 7th to complete the diamond program to receive the rewards linked to it.

There may be some deadline to get the penthouse for free from twitch but im not sure about that.

Just think, with the addition of the Casino we will see x2 on Casino stuff like x2 Winnings from Horse Racing or Double Casino Games Payouts or 25% extra luck etc.

Meaning we will see less of Double Bunkers.

i highly doubt we will. the whole "disconnect if you lose" glitch going on right now is f*cking r* on shark card sales, guaranteed. that, and people not being able to gamble because of their country laws.

it looks like a lot of the table top pieces will be free, considering there's 100 of them.

Yes it can. It just depends on your country. You have 3 types:

- Totally forbidden (Cannot play or engage at all)

- Moderate (You cannot use Shark Cards for Chips)

- Open (You can use any forms of money)

I would like to bring up a serious issue with the gambling aspects of the update.

So I showed my mother (who works in a gambling establishment) the slot machines and she immediately pointed out that it's already rigged and illegal by UK Gambling Commission Standards when it landed on the white bit in between the symbols. As part of an "Open and Fair" policy in the UK by Gambling Act 2005. Gambling places have to abide by this by making sure the player gets a result, despite a loss. To achieve this, the machine MUST land on a symbol to give a "fair chance". If it ever were to land on a white space, the machine has broken. And the player is allowed to have their money back for that spin. R* has machines that land on the white intentionally as a space. If you land on a symbol only in GTA, you get a 1 in 8 chance. But R* adding the white spaces creates a further 8 more possible points of stopping and that increases it to 1 in 16 per section. So technically the slots being used to use real UK money on GTA are illegal.

Point 2 I noticed; GTA V is legal to any age. PEGI is a sell and buyer retail front issue. Hence why you can buy a 18+ game for a 3 year old as long as the person buying and selling is that age. Even PEGI states it is a guide, not a law to play or backed up by law after sold. My Age Rated Sales training I have to do every 6 months explicitly states that I can sell to anyone equal or above the age of the game, even if they disclose who it is really for. So indirectly it is widely open for young kids to play and permitted by the law. However the gambling aspect is always off limits (even to be in the area). A person under the age of 18 cannot even set foot in a gambling premises to avoid the attraction it may occur so how does a game that is open to kids indirectly allow full exposure to the psychological aspects of gambling?

Point 3: It's programmed. Roulette for example relies on 3 natural things in IRL - Force of the dealer pushing the ball, friction of the ball and wood slowing down into the notches and gravity pulling down. This is all simulated in GTA so they can easily take the numbers you pick and remove it from the force of the fake physics where the ball will land.

The law hasn't caught up with gambling and the psychological side of it, especially to minors.

Can we get a dataminer to extract the coding of all machines and tables to see how R* have really programmed these?

EDIT: I like to add that all the points I made is from having experience from these industries in real life from various aspects, by being old enough to enter and see it with my own eyes. Guess which part of the population would not know these factors since they haven't had it IRL... kids. Further evidence that kids are their target because they will assume that's how it is. I usually dispise any regulation of government when it comes to media and games but gambling is a huge exception I will makes because it's basically monetising kids vulnerability and future living.

1.) In the UK it may be required for slot machines to stop on a symbol, but not in the U.S. Here it is perfectly legal for a slot machine to stop on a blank space, so since GTA is based in America it abides by those regulations.

2.) I think (but I could be totally wrong) the way GTA gets around the legal age limit is that the game is not branded as strictly a gambling game. It's a video game that just so happens to now have gambling as a feature. I assume it works the same way other games are allowed to have loot boxes in game.

3.) Yes every game in the casino is programmed, but its programmed in the same way any other online gambling game is programmed. I really don't think the roulette table is programmed to remove the numbers you pick, otherwise nobody would ever win. Most slot machines now, even in casinos are computer generated so they are programmed as well using a random number generator. I personally don't believe Rockstar is stacking the odds against us any more than a real life casino would. I mean after all, the house always wins

The query will be whether the weekly changes will occur on Tuesdays (when the DLC released) or Thursdays (when GTA is generally updated these days).

If it's this Tuesday, that gives people the week to win the Thrax / buy whatever in the shop rotation. If it's this Thursday, they've got longer - which is good.

It doesn't work like that or every country would be able to play because all their games are in "The US". This update is breaking the 4th wall of human psychology (similar to violence to the easily manipulated) but this is far more dangerous and addictive to all ages and can cause long term affects, especially to kids. As long as people from the UK have these unregulated machines by the UK law, they are defined as illegal here.

GTA O is marketed, created and registered independently - purely because of its ever changing nature. Along with the EULA, you can bet they have that basis covered, It also refrains from re packaging GTA's PEGI rating but that it a highly grey area legally and morally which R* would win unless there are strict laws and bi-laws to disclose otherwise. This is why we are currently having this lootbox discussion because of the same dopamine reaction people of all ages are getting from lootboxes - rolling a chance for something. So far, gambling is only called gambling in the UK if you get IRL money back. I think this is wrong and should be change to when you put IRL money in because that is the dangerous part. The financial and the dopamine effect, not even the end result.

Yes, but we do not know for sure so I would like to see the maths behind it before I come to a conclusion. But it isn't far fetched to manipulate a table game that relies on physics in a game that you can manipulate physics. It's doesn't mean 0% but a significantly less % than IRL.

Rockstar has no reason to rig the games in their favor. The games are already rigged in casino's favor by design.

If anything, some people suggest the games are rigged in players favor (or simply with bugs allowing exploits).

Sure, real time casinos are interested in getting more money from players. RS is much more interested in keeping the players.

I think the games are intended to be same to their real-life counterparts, ie. near 50% win chance, and any anomalies will be considered bugs / exploits and will be fixed.

I just meant that since it's legal to land on a blank space on a slot machine in the U.S., that's the route Rockstar has chosen to go

Yes that maybe so but not everyone is in the U.S. nor follow the same rules and regulations. Since it is available in the UK, it is technically illegal. But maybe due to the lack of IRL payout, that's the clause.

I legit thought that was a player at first. You can buy pretty much everything he's wearing at the clothing stores.
