That's one way of looking at it. Another way would be that adding exclusive items to the casino store will keep people coming back. 

 

The gambling will be no fun for me if I can't win actual gta dollars. If I'm just gambling to win chips to buy crap in the casino store I'll be beyond disappointed. The second currency thing worried me the moment the dlc was first teased.

I love how the casino had "major" construction by having a few props near it, yet the f*cking massive UNDER CONSTRUCTION building in the centre of LS hasn't been acknowledged at all lmao

The trailer and Casino look really cool, but I'm going to keep my expectations low. So far there's only been a handful of cars shown and not much clothing. I'm hoping they surprise us with cosmetics and cars that were not shown in the trailer.

I wonder how the outside "resort" area by the pool is protected..if it is... from snipers, rpg's, or vehicles crashing in to it.

Why not both. No casino draws punters purely for the bling. Many also dress for the cha-ching.

Technically GTA Online takes place in an alternate universe, atleast that's the theory. Seeing as 2015-onwards, the lore made less sense seeing as Trevor was alive in 2017, despite having a determinant status at the end of GTA V, same goes for characters like ULP. Seeing as Lester never once mentions the big score or anything like it, it seems like there is a cut in the timelines, as our online character is around in LS in GTA V, as they are mentioned by Lester in the story, but aren't recruited.

Yeah really hoping for some QOL improvements that will allow more passive ways to enjoy the map without being a f*cking ghost or banished to private sessions.
