GRANDHEIST
How much improvement you reckon there will be? I'm thinking biggest change will be in relation to (PS5's) SSD: load times speeded up pop-ins diminished don't think raytracing is on the table... unK_
Based on RDR2 evolution of the RAGE, I hope there will not be anymore artefacts and pop-ins but that's also the salt of GTA...
GRANDHEIST
also may I say it, 60 fps? (..at least uncapped)

(..at least uncapped) on PC there is no doubt about being able to play the game at 60fps. On consoles, I am not sure about the standards of PS5 and XBOX Next, if anyone knows? Max.pain
no way seeing 60fps on a console. they’ll make it on the pc so players will buy it twice. Edited July 14, 2019 by Max.pain

el carlitos
Fast loading, which will make fast traveling possible = faster yets. Also 4k and 60fps should be standard for NG.
Len Lfc
Definitely load times and streaming the environment in faster will be a thing. I do think ray tracing will be a feature, but perhaps it will just be officially supported on PC. Just depends on what the consoles are capable of, and how far Rockstar push the game, depending on 'what's left in the tank' maybe some form of ray tracing may be possible on console. Overall, I think the game will be another evolution on their previous game. In this case RDR2 So things like the NPC dialogue system will return, but hopefully expanded. Hopefully interiors, too. Would be great invading homes and entering buildings searching through drawers and cupboards, etc... 36 minutes ago, GRANDHEIST said: by the time VI comes out, 30 fps might seem outdated Already is. But a game that looks better will sell more than a smoother one, sadly. The Grand Theft Auto VI Leak Archive GTA VI Timeline of Events
Turan
- 4K 30fps - Faster loading times and therefore faster travelling and less pop in - Raytracing - More interiors than previous games, but majority of the buildings will be closed off - Prettier graphics in general 4k, loading times and raytracing will make the biggest differences I think. squeezx
I’d like to see physics based environment damage. Probably won’t happen but being able to drive a car through a store or level a building with explosives would be cool. Dynamic weather with hurricanes, more realistic water and waves, and better AI and models for NPCs. MrQuiche
MrQuiche
Just look at RDR2 and you'll see what GTA VI could look like but improved of course. The newly released game is always a test for the next one at Rockstar. GTA V got volumetrics effects on certains weathers, RDR2 always has them and they're even more beautiful Edited July 15, 2019 by MrQuiche

Jabalous
After Redemption 2, it's clear that we will experience atmosphere wise... - Clear, sharp image. First aliasing-free GTA game on consoles. - Pushing Redemption 2's most believable dynamic lighting and shadows solution even further. Just imagine! - Improving on Redemption 2's volumetric clouds in how they form and move in the sky. More transitional phases between different conditions, which means less noticeable abrupt weather and cloud formation changes. - Improved draw distance. Level of detail is even better in the distance! vehicles and pedestrians are rendered at an improved distance with a believable physical model. - Something unique and highly improved in regard to how audio is produced and modulated in-game, especially after reading about PS5's 3D audio solution. Volumetrics cloud have an huge impact on the lighting especially the ground's one which can totally change the atmosphere and the feel when playing. - Not totally sure about this one, RDR2 has less popping because it's easier to render a wild county with 10+ NPC and horses than a city with skyscrapers with 20+ NPC with cars. LODs already takes time to create for western game but for a city it's even more complex. - Audio has been improving since GTA 3 and ever more so since the first release of RAGE. 3D audio is actually possible in games for years now without even the need of a chip or a program/tool. Devs can place an audio emitter in the game world and thus the sound will always come from the position of the emitter. It's the same thing as a VFX emitter but instead of emitting particles it emits sounds. You can even program your audio engine to make sound go at a certain speed and make it resonates and reverb in certain types of materials/places. RAGE Audio has speed of sound implemented. Just find a sound loud enough in GTA V when you're in the water and then dive and the sound will be muffled like it would in real life. The best example would be this video. Eternal Moonshine
Raytracing might be possible to an extent. I can definitely see it being an option for the PC version. What i would like to see is what R* did to cars in IV but applied to peds. Meaning we should be able to see crowds of low poly peds in the distance. It would help to sell the illusion of a living city. It's very likely that GTA VI will support 4k and at this resolution seeing empty streets would look kinda silly. It feels like a logical next step in bringing the game's world to life. This shouldn't be very resource intensive either. Next gen consoles should be able to easily handle crowds of low poly peds. I would also like to see the weather interact with the world. All this static trash that you can find on the streets is a nice detail but it would be even nicer if the wind could actually blow this stuff around
CrimsonFolo
I would really really like some sort of dynamic weather system in some sorts to make the world feel more alive in a sense. I would also like a great variety of pedestrians or increased amounts and would like reduce pop-in distances (Like when cars pop up suddenly, I would like that to be less of a thing) Severely reduced loading times would also be very nice. Especially if single player can load in like 10 seconds or multiplayer can load lobbies in a few seconds.
