WTF Camps?

Hi all.

 

I did search and it doesn't seem to have been brought up lately.

 

WTF is going on with camps? Some sessions I cannot move it at all but it still takes my money. Only workaround so far is to respawn from option menu which works sometimes.

I've browsed the patch release notes and forum topics and can't seen to find anyone else where this is happening or if this is being addressed.

 

Also, when it does spawn, sometimes it will be placed in the correct region but wrong spot. Last night for example, trying to move camp to Big Valley. Got the message is was moved there but on the map it was across the river from Blackwater. Is this also a known issue?

 

Thoughts/experiences with this?

I've never had a problem with my camp. Maybe something broken with your character. Have to messaged rockstar?

I have not. I'm already going at with them about camp fees (this will be my hill to die on... lol).

 

FWIW, my posse bro has the same issue from time to time. I guess I could chalk it up to network congestion/issues but it seems to happen at the most inopportune times, of course.

@hotrats773 Were your camp set up near the little house, near Riggs station? Because I had that happened to me too.

 

 

 

I also had Crips and the lockbox missing one time too.. and fast traveling to camp, spawned me in, on top of the fire.

 

 

Restarting the game fixed it for me.

Wow. Have not had that happen!

 

No, my issue seems to happen no matter where I am. I jumped on shortly after posting and had the same issue. Fresh login. No camp icon. Tried to pitch it and after three tries, no luck. On a lark, I started up my posse and then tried again and it worked. So I'm not sure if that was just luck or if having a posse made the difference. I'll post a video hopefully soon.

This happens to me to. Usually when I first load into lobby, my camp marker will disappear and the message that Crips has packed up the camp comes up. From there I cannot pitch a new camp. I have recentky not had the issue where it charges me the money for the set up, but it did scan the past.

 

I can confirm that this is not an issue with your character as this happened in beta with my first character as well. It has also occurred to my friends as well.

 

The only theory I have is that it has to do with camp congestion. I like to keep my camp in Scarlett Meadows (as it is nicely placed between Rhodes and Saint Denis) and have only had issues with it there and The Heartlands. I did find a work around that works most of the time... I reform my persistent posse and then set the camp up. If it doesnt allow me to set the camp size I have chosen, I switch from small to large (or vice versa) and then it will pitch the camp.

 

The only other solution that has worked for me is going into the Online menu and choose a free roam in a different region to load into a new lobby.

Enter Free Roam Event come back and Cripps has relocated.

logoff and then login.... Cripps was unable to set up camp

15 times trying to setup camp and he doesn’t

Not sure this is a bump but good lord f*ck, this is so broken. Are there any other threads or discussions on this? Has R* even acknowledged this as an issue? I can't get sh*t from support.
