RED DEAD ONLINE: EXPLORER CARE PACKAGE, NEW CLOTHING AND MORE (July 9th)

This week's Red Dead Online update rewards the adventurous with the Explorer Care Package and introduces the menacing red-tinted Durham Coat. Players who link their Rockstar Games Social Club accounts to Twitch Prime will also get unique benefits now and into the future. Read on to learn more.

 

 

 

In Red Dead Online, fortune shines on the bold and adventurous who roam the frontier in search of townsfolk to help, game to hunt, herbs to cook and Daily Challenges to complete. With seven new challenges each day of the week, simply complete a total of 10 Daily Challenges before July 16th to earn the Explorer Care Package, full of helpful items that will fuel your adventures across the Old West.

 

The Explorer Care Package includes 60 Poison Arrows - deadly arrows with poisoned tips typically crafted using an Arrow, Feather and Oleander Plant after acquiring the Poisoned Arrows Pamphlet. Use these to quickly down man or beast. The package also includes 100 rounds of Varmint Cartridges - .22 caliber rounds designed for smaller animals – such as rabbits - with sure fire performance.

 

Other helpful items include Thyme, Wild Mint and Oregano, providing a healthy fortification for your Dead Eye, Health and Stamina respectively. Cook them with the Prime Beef Jointor Tender Pork Loin (also included in the package) to create hearty meals that grant a temporary Gold Core. You’ll also get Live Crickets and Live Worms for fishing and 5 tins of Jolly Jack’s that fully restore and slightly fortify your Dead Eye.

 

 

 

The Wheeler, Rawson and Co. Catalogue has much to offer outlaws and socialites alike this week.

As far as permanent offerings go, the double-breasted machine sewn red Durham Coat is now available in stores. The Riggs Fringe Coat is a new addition, while the Fieldwork Hatwill keep you protected from the elements.

 

Players venturing into the North and bracing for snow can take advantage of returning limited-time offerings and purchase the furry Cossack Hat, while those prone to whimsy might prefer a more fashionable chapeau, like the Gardenia Hat.

 

 

All players who link their Social Club account to Twitch Prime and claim their benefits between July 1st and July 19th will receive RDO$300 and the Superior Ammo Bundle, which consists of:

 

• 30 x Dynamite Arrows
• 60 x Incendiary Buckshot Ammo
• 30 x Volatile Fire Bottles
• 200 x Express Pistol Ammo
• 200 x Express Revolver Ammo

Explorer package is meh. Happy bout the arrows, the game and herbs are kinda bleh. I'm always maxed on majority of those.

 

Still, I'm maintaining my streak anyways, might as well go for it.

I'm not feeling this week's clothing, the Daily Challenge care package doesn't hold anything useful for me, no mention of this months PS+ rewards and no new information about the summer update.

The only thing these weekly updates do for me right now is trigger me cause the screenshots are all taken with the editor.

 

Also I'll probably get that explorer thing by virtue of still doing challenges like an idiot but I'd genuinely rather not have it. My box at the post office is becoming less a box and more a vault with all this junk.

Yeah I feel ya on this. Its been meh for a while now too. Dry in the streets of Red Dead Online. The only thing I'm doing this week is a couple of hunting trips per sitting/session like usual just to keep my money moving forward and getting off to play other games.

Truth be told, I don't know why I should login the game now. I have nothing to do and nothing to grind money or gold for. This week would be 10x better if they'd continue the free gun oil. More free gun oil is useless, so that indicates how good this week is.....

Remember the clothing in Public Enemy Showdown Mode........ These were some of the clothes that appeared on you when you were the Public Enemy.

I've been off this game for awhile now. Playing sports games until Rockstar gives this game some love. Right now it's being neglected and it shows. Game needs the next big update now ...not 2 months from now.

I'm actually already happy sitting on 100+ gold bars and $1000 in cash. Not that I expect to be able to buy anything with it, but I don't have any incentive to get more. Knowing myself, I must be happy with that amount then. 

Yesterday I had a longer stint, getting back above 1000 bucks, due to an idiot mistake I made. After I got back over $1000 I lost all drive to get more money or gold.

Yeah, a good indication is how quiet the forums are. There's just so little to discuss, other than the lack of content.

Sounds like you got what you need. They do need more incentive if they wan't people to play longer and earn higher in money. Like you I'm at 100+ Gold bars, but sitting around $12,000 mostly from PVP, Hunting, and dabbling in the free roam missions.

More comfortable if I think of all the animals I have to shoot, stow and sell to get more money, or guys I don't know from Adam to give rides to Braithwaite Manor at slow pace for better cash. Ranking up isn't even an incentive to play more. Currently at Rank 53 and nothing much to unlock I'd like having.

Currently Level 117 and your not missing much. No incentive for the 100+ players either let alone a level 50+. The game is the same regardless of your level so there you have it.

We need something good and we need it now. I don't think there is any game in which I leveled this slow, pure because I have no drive to get higher. 

There is absolutely nothing to aim for, which unlocks at higher level.

What pisses me off is that the new coat was already ingame, you werent able to buy it but it was definetly already part of the outfit you got when you became the target in Public Enemy.

 

Dripfeed is on par with PvP in this game, they are both abysmal.

I have 230 gold bars, 15 grand and nothing new to purchase. Was having fun, but it’s getting to be a hassle instead.

This. Even hunting which is my downtime thing to do when I'm not doing PvP or Missions is starting to become a hassle.

Not only that, but the idea we might like it is even more interesting. What in the world ar they thinking? I'd love to be the fly on the wall when these things get decided and roadmapped for the coming 6 months or so. Must be quite interesting meetings......
