Radio crash

My game crashes whenever I try to enter another city and the radio changes frequency to VC or LC stations. I have been experiencing the same problem in previous snapshots, but only in Liberty City and this was the main reason why I gave up playing GTA UG for a long time. Now, soon after redownloading the latest snapshot, I experience the same, but in all cities except the default San Andreas state. Is there anything I can do about this issue? 
I know that other people reported similar issues but there has been no answer in their threads, therefore I am starting a new one.
