-2 Double-Action Revolver - I can’t hit a barn door with this thing.  The fast shooting would kind of make up for it, but the low ammo capacity means that  I spend too much time desperately reloading the cylinders.  Whenever I tried to use this gun, I always felt like I was at a disadvantage against other players who were using something else.

A pity, because it’s a good looking gun.

+1 Semi Auto Pistol - the fast firing option for the more discerning gentleman.

well i was going to vote for the semi auto pistol. but i realize i need to protect my second favorite gun. the mauser. i really like this gun. and i like the stripper clip reload. the only gun in the game that uses a stripper clip. its a really fun and unique gun. it deserves to stay.

-2 Cattleman Revolver - pretty much made my obsolete by the Schofield.

+1 Semi Auto Pistol.  Apart from possibly the sawed off shotgun (which has other limitations) probably the best handgun for pointblank shootouts where taking the extra moment to line up a headshot can get you killed.

I might be wrong but looking at the stats on the cattleman V's the original revolvers I think it's actually the best of the 3.  I like how we are just fighting to keep our favourites in when the LeMat is probably going to win despite it's horrible reload speed.

Weapon affinity can screw with everyone’s perception of these guns.

The more you use a gun, the better it gets in certain respects, so often (and I’m probably no different) people start using a gun that they sort of like, gain affinity with it which improves its base statistics, and makes it seem better than a new gun that doesn’t have the affinity bonuses.

I suspect that the cattleman revolver in particular benefits from this, because it is the starting gun, so everyone gains a bit of affinity for it. For all, I know, the double action revolver might actually end up being decent gun once it’s accuracy is improved by increased affinity.

This is so true. I bought the Mauser and at first I didn't like it at all, I used it until I reached maximum affinity and now its one of my favorites.

I think the affinity makes a bigger difference in some guns vs others. Like the LeMat - I didn't notice a big difference once I used it for awhile

+1 for the cattleman, even though its the starter weapon, its still my go to option for its stats and looks. No upgrade is necesary considering how competent it is, which is weird considering how sh*t was in the first game.

-2 for the semi auto pistol, tempted to vote out the volcanic but it still fits more in the game than this eyesore does.

awesome my first kill in an elimination game. bye bye volcanic pistol. and i gave my second negative point to the schofield. because while it may be strong. its is slower firing and reloading. thats why i love my semi auto pistol. and mauser pistol.

Not sure about that. The game is set in 1899, which is much later than most westerns.

The Volcanic pistol had been out of production since 1860 or so and only a few thousand were ever made, whereas the Borschardt C-93 was in production between 1893 and 1902, and about 21,000 were made.

Do you still have weapon affinity (as a stat) online?

In my case I doubt the cattleman would have higher affinity as the double action was my preferred choice but it realies on accuracy to make up for its lack of power.  Since the changes to aiming I can't be sure the bullet is going to go where I'm aiming.  I swear some days I get more one shot kills when I think I should have missed than when I think I've hit.  I like the power on the schofield but the cocking speed on the cattleman seems better and when I looked at the stats of all 3 side by side, after upgrades, the cattleman looks the best.  I think it also looks the best but that is definitely just my opinion.

Weapon affinity definitely exists in online.

There is a thread here where someone screenshoted his Schofield at level 40 and level 100 (or something).  It improves accuracy, reload time and range.

I would agree that the cattleman looks the best of the three until a lengthened barrel is attached - it’s too long.  All subjective of course.

When your weapon is clean and there is no more grey in the reload bar you have reached maximum affinity

When EE ammo is used, yes. If not, there will always be some grey left.

Weapon affinity doesn’t make a difference to damage.

I don't get the dislike for the Volcanic Pistol. It has good damage, good fire rate and the range isn't too shabby either. I'm dual wielding it. 8 rounds each, reloading is fast and this is basically a short range repeater. I don't understand the low rating for it in this game.

Yeah, I remember the special vehicles (GTA Online) elimination game. The people voting the Rocket Voltic against the Ruiner 2000. Someone remember the stupid Rocket Voltic? No, everybody forgott him xD.

I still getting a lot of fun with my FL Ruiner 2000, specially against oppressor mkii.

I prefer the lemat for having the shotgun change with pressing the right button, but if the lemat does not exist, the volcanic would be my favorite, for his damage, range and acuraccy.
