Commander S Posted June 25, 2019 Share Posted June 25, 2019 Must admit, I'm glad I: - waited until the game left beta before attempting to wrestle with the character creator - redid the intro five smegging times () in order to hear all the voice/whistle combos in-game - which meant I got to fine-tune my character and memorise the settings That said, I just hope that them opening up character appearance resets as an option doesn't cause some glitch to existing characters, like randomising features every time you log in (I remember that sort of thing happening in GTAO, back in 2014/15...). Definitely would like to tweak my char but only if they improve the creator, most of what I'd tweak is because I couldn't tweak it at launch cause there was no option to. Mine is fine now I scrubbed him up and got him so fancy clothes. If I had to change anything I would give him different eyebrows, a different scar and make his mouth smaller. Thats it. Shortly after though I wouldn't mind a second character slot, because they screwed me on skin tone and I can't change that without an overhaul on my character anyway. Hopefully they can release the character creator with the ability to edit minor details for everybody else. I'll pass because overall I'm happy with everything else except the skin tone. Nope I'm the same, took maybe 10 minutes and called it good. I'll probably check out what changes I can make, but I really don't understand the obsession some people have with this stuff. By that same token, some plain, block-colour blankets would be good, too - I reckon that in the long term, they need to consider all the kinds of styles of clothes, weapons and accessories available in the late 1890s, and not just 'stereotypical cowboy stuff' over and over. That reminds me of something that bugs me right now - things like bridles are tied to saddle type, and so you can't choose style/colour independent of the saddle type/colour: And yeah, horse tack would be great - after all, people mocked MGSV for adding it as paid DLC ("horse armour, lol"), but ...I actually rather liked things like the fancy Parade Tack. Just dark skinned p much, wasn't intentionally making a mixed race char or anything, just wanted someone darker skinned cause pale as a ghost chars with black/red hair are the typical go-to's for female chars in games. Yea I have noticed that its sultry Redheads for the women and hairy hairy Mountain Men for the men. Well apart from the ones dressed in overalls/shirtless and bootless with Rope Suspenders, the wild balding hair and a silly 'stache but let's not talk about them. But yea, I've played a lot of MMO's, GTAO, etc and the vast majority of female characters are pale white. Not very original to go that route anymore IMO. I just mashed randomized options until I got a gut "I like something about this face" reaction off of one, only change I made was to give her a full set of teeth and I don't think I'd change a thing otherwise. They say the Beta is over but some how.. the game still feels like it's in Beta. So far, I think the LeMat Revolver and Poker are the best things that have happened to RDO. It's just very grindy. If you aren't great at PvP then killing cops with special ammo, hip-fire headshots is the way to go, horseback for that extra exp. Looking at like 35-40 exp a kill + challenge rewards. It's a bit more iffy now with the bounty system and it might f*ck with your hostility so if someone wanders over and shoots you it may spawn you far away. You're not the only one, I'm happy with what I got, but when they come out with the option to reset our appearance I'm not touching mine. The wording of the Newswire.. A "Reset" - that implies you get a chance to just start over from scratch, not adjust some smaller things to me. Killing animals and skinning them works pretty good too. Whenever I see a pack of 4-5 turkeys, I always kill and pluck them. Each kill is 10XP and every skinning too. With a pack of 5 turkeys, you have an easy 100XP and some meat to sell and feathers for small game arrows, if you might need those. Alligators are even better.
