After taking a close look at the history of GTA Online DLCs on this website, it is clear that the rate at which we get DLCs has been significantly slower lately. In 2016, we got 5 big DLCs and 4 filler updates, in 2017, we had 3 massive DLCs and 3 filler updates. However, in 2018 and 2019, only 2 big DLCs have been released every year.

 

Now that can only mean one of two things: either this is gonna become a pattern from now on and R* are gonna slow down on updates or it is due to the fact that R* gave more priority to RDR 2 and its PC port in 2018 and 2019 but GTA updates are gonna go back to normal which is more likely.

 

However, One thing is guaranteed, the next DLC is gonna be massive since the last two updates were pretty small filler updates, the last proper DLC was the diamond casino heist and R* are known for releasing big updates in the summer. The only thing that could prevent it from happening is the current covid pandemic but i highly doubt it since programming is something that can be done from home and the video game industry is growing rapidly because of the amount of people staying home, so the market is there.

Of course it has to at some point, but not until GTA VI is released, or at least a year prior to that, and it definitely won't end with the open wheel DLC.

Dude, for you to say it's interesting, i can only theorize this: big changes in the gta online playstyle. R* probably is very well aware that Fivem is a big thing in the player community bcz of it's role play aspect. So, i will bet in some last frontier of fiance and felony. Like ceo's mk II. Where we will be able to transform our organizations in diferent "crime sindicates" like mobs and cartels. Maybe a police party. Then it will be components of the Cops n Crooks that everyone wants. Maybe now we will have the ultimate headquarters, a mansion.

Yan came along saying it's best not to talk about the theme of the next update not being F1, because we wouldn't want anyone to be "arrested".
