I was wondering, the people at R* working remotely, if not from home, wouldn't increase the likeness of a leak?

I guess the GTAO team is pretty small

I highly doubt the current situation will change their update release plans at all.

This is a new environment for them, I'm sure it's gonna affect them some way. I mean some developers might not have the same powerful PCs at Rockstar offices, and I doubt that Rockstar would have given each developer a debug unit of Xbox One or PS4 so it's probably given to a few developers. They might have an experience with dealing with such environment because it's not different from working with other Rockstar studios.

In the other hand, we live in an era where someone from Australia can face time someone from USA, so those developers probably gonna face time a lot. I still think this might affect them by a little bit.

Oh boy, do i have good news for you. There is a Comet Classic in this game :D

The Comet Retro Custom can be purchased from Benny's Original Motor Works for $645,000, and it can be stored in the Garage (Personal Vehicle).

It is an interesting situation. I wonder how the security will work with that

With this situation, it could push whatever DLCs for RDO and GTAO to a later date (whenever they are scheduled to release). Mostly the Summer DLCs.

I sure hope we get either some more OWR or some missions this week. We have a global pandemic and the game still feels dead AF. Seems like most players are bored/sick of the current 7 OW tracks, I’ve been waiting sometimes up to 45 min to get any players to join. Then the ones that do join quit because I’m winning and it’s set to non contact so they can’t drive the wrong way and try to ram me.

Maybe I’ll start a casual racing crew. I would join Broughy’s if they didn’t have so many queefy little rules about what cars you can and can’t use. Half his showcased races are great tracks but are limited to certain cars because of their silly little restrictions.. I like Brough and appreciate all that he does, but he’s a wee bit up his own ass sometimes.

Am I correct in assuming that whatever update is coming next has probably been in the works for awhile though?

If the next update is indeed a Summer update that still gives them a few months to debug everything and get it out to the public.

Do you realize that Broughy's racing crew puts restrictions on their racing events not because of pettyness but of necessity, seeing how R* refuses to either balance the cars on this game or to at least put them in classes that make sense?

Yeah, but they are a bit overzealous. I'm looking for something more casual, I'm looking for entertainment not simulating real life. If I wanted that I'd spend more time playing GT.. I mean, read your post, it sounds a lil too self serious. Broughy and his followers can't handle any criticism lol, too elitist for my liking.

i don't know why, but i could totally see rockstar adding a turreted cybertruck similar to how they added the caracara. Probably useless, but i'd definitely buy it

Exactly. I would play the sh*t out of those if they released them since I have literally nothing to do until April due to the epidemic. We'll see

This year is the perfect one for Rockstar to release a spring update. Knowing almost all of the world is in quarantine at the moment they could hit record numbers once again.

Bulletproof windows... until Rockstar bring the baseball from single player, in which case they break after 2-3 hits.

And with a turret (maybe one of the cyber ones from Arena Wars?) it would be fun. More fun with a tow-hitch too, of course. Or a deployable electric quad-bike. Or both. Or all.

Maybe a new slew of source / transport missions where you have to find, secure and move toilet paper and hand-sanitiser across the map.

Or a freeroam mechanic where if your character leaves an interior (apartment, garage, nightclub etc.) then there's an increasing chance of them losing health through airborne diseases. Nervous Ron was right all along! Big Pharma with its chemtrails!

(yes, many memes - day one of isolation. Things can only get worse) Or just random s**tposting in-between DLCs.

So that means that can still do it?

I guess so...i mean...they probably use cloud servers, internet, etc., all software to work in the dlc's, in the maintenance of the game, in sending them to Sony and Microsoft to get approval...i don't think they send the next dlc for them in a pen-drive, delivered by a mailman. So, technically the awnswer is yes i think.

The CRC is a poorly-done RWB 911, what he and many others want is a proper classic 911 with no gimmicks or forced widebody kits. Don’t be obtuse

The Retro Custom has the stupid widebody and the rear section is poorly done. If they actually make the classic, it should be based on the 930 911, so it would be pretty different.

Bruh, R* is never gonna make any car 100% the same as in Real Life. (except the Cheburek, the Tesla models, the stupid Focus ST)

The Comet Safari's body is exactly what me and a bunch of people want as a Comet Retro... they have the normal non-widebody model, they just decided to troll us and release a 4x4 version of it.

it would be a very good opportunity that they shouldn´t miss , CS:GO hit a record 1 mil. online players yesterday ( almost 8 years after the initial release) , and right now as we speak , 960k players are online so ...

in other news , looks like FiveM has hit a record 68k today ... not bad at all

*Aaaaaherm*

Allow me to show a few pictures here.

The Comet Retro Custom has a forced wide-body kit, aswell as being low to the ground and having forced bolted fenders. While I think it does deserve to be in the game, a "clean" Comet Classic would be my preferred ride.

latest?cb=20161213201950

And what do I mean by "clean" Comet Classic? I mean this;

746088-GTAIV-2019-10-24-16-54-34-34.jpg

Mod for GTA IV, but point still stands.

This thing is smooth, appropriate wheels, and most of all, doesn't have a wide-body kit or forced bolts on its fenders.

The closest thing we've come to get a "clean" Comet Classic was the Comet Safari. It didn't have any wide-body kit, nor bolts everywhere. However, what it did was adding forced metal bumper bars, lifted kit, racing seats, and a not-so-pretty forced rallylight on the hood. I don't mind having customization options, but forcing me to have aftermarket customization on it limits my creativity and inspiration for the car.

latest?cb=20171218202452

Looking back at it all, it seems like Rockstar has an issue with the Comet family.

>Comet was added back from GTA IV to V, but it has a forced spoiler which you can't remove

>Comet Retro Custom was added, which was cool, but fans would've preferred to use a Comet Classic to convert it at Benny's, similar logic to the Virgo Classic.

>Comet Safari was added, which was also cool, but yet again, fans would've preferred a normal, stock Comet Classic. (Personally, I like the Comet Safari's offroad capabilities, but let's carry on.)

>Comet SR was added in as part of dripfeed for Doomsday Heist. Suuuper duper cool, as that allowed us to have a Comet without a forced spoiler... Unfortunately, it was traded in for a forced roll cage, which we can't remove - which should've just been a customization option.

Rockstar surely likes to force us to use their version of cars, huh.

That is extremely difficult to say. Even if we consider that they are deep in the development already, the final debugging and testing may be a problem due to the new environment just because it is new and people will spend more time getting used to it.

Source: I work in research and was responsible for engineering several schemes of remote work for different institutions. The trickiest part is to plan ahead and anticipate as many bottlenecks as possible, but that not only requires a lot of time and observation but is also limited in principle, because some of the new problems will always arise no matter how good are you prepared. Right now we are using a lot of different commercial applications, but my line of work is mostly progress tracking and publishing coordination. Even editing a scientific text remotely may be tricky, especially if you are working with different statisticians/ math specialists. Especially, in the beginning when the approach is being decided. Remote work is not as simple as video conferences, although they are useful and I am working on weaponizing it right now to orchestrate online conferences and it is far beyond Skype/ Facetime. There are more applicable solutions, although I will not advertise anything.

P.S. Considering that R* have implemented remote work recently and it was not a public knowledge that they have used this approach before, everyone should expect that it is going to be a clusterf*ck, pardon my English. Not because it is R* or any other company, but just because you can not simply do it fast and successful. Even driving a car in US/UK will differ dramatically and we are just talking about a traffic rules and different placement of a steering wheel. Remote work is FUBAR going to SNAFU over time unless it was prepared extensively, instructions were distributed, tests were made, load was balanced and feedback is constantly being accepted.

Wow.. That Porsche thing..

Lost for words.

Anyway, there are lots of cars which are quite close copies, (certainly more of a recent thing) the Vamos springs to mind.

The "Focus ST".. ain't one of them. It's way off, not even as a rally version, yeah we can see what's it's trying to be but that doesn't make it anything like "100% in real life".

For modern cars, you don't get a much closer copy than the Sugoi.
