I agree with you about 2019, the updates were amazing but that 7 month gap at the start was painful.

 

I'm hoping we get the "usual": March - Small. June/July - Medium/Large. December - Large.

Nope, I'm saying that karts are relatively accessible and there are other options, consisting of more exclusive things.  And I'm also saying that it's my personal preference. I won't touch a kart in Online. Honestly, last time I've driven once IRL was around 2010 and I don't mean if it will stay that way. Even that case was an exception, I was mentoring a friend who wanted to get better in a  friendly graduation race.

Yes, the Open Wheel races are part of the drip-feed, possibly coming out tomorrow since they say it's the next addition to GTA Online.

The actual major DLC might be a continuation of the Open Wheel races, featuring Open Wheel race creator and more F1 cars. In other words, the usual race-related update we get in March or April.

This is all based on the fact that Rockstar left out some strings for the Open Wheel race creator even though it's not featured as part of the current update.

The F1 cars are part of the casino podium list, so they could release the Open Wheel races, feature one of the F1 cars on the casino podium and feature the other one the week after.

PR4 on casino podium

February 6th - February 12th

This makes more sense as on February 13th, we would have the Roosevelt Valor on the casino podium

yeah, the words "next up for gta online" suggests next weekly event. But, cuz of the V-STR still on legendary I was "confused". although I saw several possibilities:

- They will ignore the v-str (although it’s not common for them to ignore cars)

- they will add the F1 cars and the v-str

- they will add one of F1 cars and the v-str

- the word "next" misapplied

Assuming the order in the stores are correct (pics from @Foxysnaps)

 

It would seem the Stryder would be either last or second to last, which is a bit odd given its a quirky car.. its the sort of thing they generally get out early.

 

They could release everything else and then put the single seaters out in late February after everyone got their $2m from the next couple of weeks. Wouldn't be surprised to see them release one at a time either.

I believe they would just ignore the V-STR and release the F1 cars, they either release 2 cars at the same time or release one car and keep the other one for the next event.

With this in mind, the drip-feed would end on either March 5th (if they release the two F1 cars tomorrow) or March 12th

How did you come to this conclusion? What's changed? I had the Formula cars as after Valentines, not before!

Pure speculation, but Rockstar said it in their newswire, the next addition to GTAO is the Open Wheel races, it won't make sense to not release the F1 cars alongside the new races.

They aren't obligated to follow the website order, they proved that with the Hermes.

There's always a chance that they could just release the races tomorrow and the cars later on. Just a thought I had.

Well if we get a mini update aka open wheel racing tomorrow it will be the first January update since 2016. A good start considering some were expecting there to be only one update this year.

He said it's part of the casino heist update. It's dripfeed, not a new update.

Okay, well there's always ambiguity to their newswrie and statements so I'll not read into that, I now see where you're coming though.

I know and not just the Hermes. Nothing in the dripfeed/files is a given until it's officially announced. Sometimes things (Jester Classic) get pushed back to apply a fix.

Yeh. But it's still more than we've had so early on in the year since 2016. Hoping it points to a big year a head and if GTA VI is coming next fall at the earliest this year is the year to go out with a bang!

I guess you're too much into that word... "Next" to R* have a hand full of possible meanings. I will bet in Valentine's Day being the week of the release of F1 cars and some races, bcz we don't have any car that screams "valentine". So, why not going with the novelty that this dlc have to offer and what best time to release it in a special holiday? But in the end, none of us can know for sure, we just need wait to see.

I think they would have worded it more clearly if they meant it was releasing this week. They would have used "and coming to GTAO this week, open wheel races". I think next in the context they used is more the next major release with a trailer and likely artwork.

As much as I would love to believe all of this will be happening tomorrow, I just can't. 

 

I could very well have misread something, because I've got a bit of catching up to do. But why would R* release these cars that are $3+ million each, and have them both on the podium in back to back weeks? Wouldn't they want us to throw our money at them instead of winning them for free? Wouldn't it make more sense for them to wait a few weeks before offering them up for free, after most people have already bought them?

could work the same way with the Thrax, we had it on the podium the day it came out, which was the day when the casino was released.

It wouldn’t make sense to release the races without at least 1 F1 car. They want people using their custom vehicles in those races when they are released. 

My guess is we get 1 of the F1 cars tomorrow and a random car on the podium.

I find it really unlikely that we have a team of crew members change tires/gas us up, but hey R* likes to randomly surprise us occasionally.

 

I bet its more of a magic, your car is stuck in place for a second and boom you have new tires.

Don't forget that like 40% of the players can't use the wheel due to those sh*tty law restrictions.

I thought about that too...but i wasn't so far in terms of being a crew working as mechanics...i would say maybe a npc crew...but the amount of animations that would require i don't think R* will go put effort in doing it. I'm more convinced that it will be "ghost mechanics", like during some seconds appears some bar with the info and that's it.
Also, i'm curious about two specific things in the newswire...one is that they mentioned "the addition of an open wheel racing series featuring all new vehicle types", types...plural...more than F1 cars? Maybe karts also? Two, the "Plus, expect more big updates and a few surprises as we move forward into the year"...few surprises...i wonder what it is, R* usually never used that kind of language...those surprises can't be the "more big updates", bcz that's already said and they divided the words "big updates" and "few surprises".

What I've seen in custom tracks to simulate pit stops are those brake stripes from Stunt races at the entry and exit, along with the repair power up from GTA races in the middle.

 

So if Rockstar are lazy they just copy that.
