Dude once again, you are preaching to the quire here. I'm the first one to criticize them for copypasting content for X number of years. I'm the guy who usually complains about wasted potential of gtao and their low effort updates. That still doesn't answer what sooo bad about them adding a couple of f1 cars and adding a new kind of racing to the game? You do realize that this game has a huge racing community, right? And those cars are very popular in FiveM. Just because you and I don't use gta for racing doesn't mean that it shouldn't be allowed in gta lol. This sandbox game is way bigger than the things you use it for.  

But hey, looks like you just want to call everyone a kid so keep screaming at clouds like some crazy old boomer.

couple of f1 cars? you mean the whole f1 game is soon to be converted into gtaonline,like how they copied stuff from every other non r* game. so your 2nd half of the post makes no sense. its ok if these items are in the game, but when they are litterally copied from non r* games, thats when you should boycot them as they litterally have no inspiration and are litterally copying and pasting from other games so that fanboys can say: b-b--bbbbbut rockstar gives free content.

Well, many people enjoy racing on gta online. Racing is part of gta as well. Gta is a variety of everything. Racing in gta is addictive and fun.

They added 2 f1 cars and new racing mode for them with new features. Chill the f*ck out dude. And even if they planning to add more, whats the difference between adding 2-5 more in the future for the new mode instead of adding normal racing cars like whey been adding for the last 6 years? At least they added a new mode that looks fun instead of copypasting cunning stunts for the 8th time.

Huh?  I'm pretty sure "racing in gta is addictive [...]" reads as an opinion and is not delivered as factual.   I'm not a grammar pro or wordsmith but can that statement ever been considered as factual?

I still can't believe they actually added F1/Indy cars... I've been trying to find some of my old posts wishlisting for a 90s era F1 with Redwood livery based on Senna's McLaren. I know many, many others have asked for similar but it always feels nice to get the thing you want specifically added to the game. I'm starting to feel spoiled after the Gauntlets from DC&R, the muscles from AW, the B-11 and Swinger from AH, Turismo Classic/GP1, Hunter/Nakota/Sea Sparrow and at least 2 dozen others (when they added half a Celica with the Savestra I almost died I was so surprised). Now if they just get the last 4 in my wishlist, the most important ones, a Comet Classic, Bullet Classic, 2 stroke Sanchez Retro, and a Dominator based on the Mach 1..

I'm glad they've add the Albany V-STR aka 2017 Cadillac CTSV because I've been waiting a long time for this car to come. Now, I just want a modern Camaro and the 2020 Mid engine Corvette in gta.

It's not about a lack of standards. Every generation in history has complained about the lack of standards among the respective younger generation, so we should have reached a singularity of low standards by now.

 

The issue is the commodification of video gaming as a medium. Game design used to be a work of self-actualization and not something you could make a lot of money with. Nowadays gaming companies are run like boilerplate corporations with each programmer hour expected to generate a certain amount of revenue, and profit as the main goal. That's why gaming companies copy-and-paste as much as they can and invent predatory monetization schemes.

I bitch about garage space plenty, but I really do agree and enjoy having so many cars and aircraft to play with, plus I can't wait to see what comes of these F1 races too.

 

I don't expect them to be perfect of course, but hopefully they get the arena's thing where backwards drivers and trolls get ghosted as it'll help, lol. 

 

Also, did I read right that these cars are to have tyre wear? That could be fun if so. Go karts next, lol.

I don't get this "X is useless because Y will just blow it up" argument, it puzzles me.

 

I keep seeing this argument being made on Reddit, Facebook, Twitter, here and I wonder if you folks are even remotely aware of this game's features and what it is about, I will explain:

 

1) This game isn't about free roam PvP only, the racing scene is still quite strong even 6 years since the game's release, you should know that. And then there's the car meets and photography, role-playing community, etc...

 

2) Not everything in this game should be about PvP, including the addition of new content, otherwise we would only get stupid tacticool gear, weapons, weaponized vehicles, and more related cancer, the game would get old incredibly fast just like PBUG.

 

3) Passive mode exists, solo sessions exists, invite only sessions exists, solo public sessions exists.

 

This kind of argument only holds water if we are talking about new weaponized vehicles, otherwise it just doesn't matter to the game at all and it shouldn't be used as a justification to add new content.

 

Now regarding the usefulness of the cars:

 

811 has the highest top speed in the game and that's about it, that's all it has going for it, the acceleration is subpar and the handling is sh*t, on top of all of that the car being buttf*ck ugly(and I say this being a Pfister/Porsche fan) and sounding ridiculous makes very undesirable at all.

 

The Emerus, Deveste Eight, Krieger, S80RR, Vagner, X80 Proto and so many other supers absolutely destroys it on pretty much any track EXCEPT Plummet 1 and 2.

 

I wholeheartedly welcome the new race cars and even all the other civilian cars in this car game because the way I see it, THIS is what GTA is about more than weaponized cancer.

So, these soft/medium/hard tyres for the Formula 1 races are what @MARINA (I think) meant when she said that there was a new set of "racing" wheels added to the game?

Not only are the models for the new open wheel racers really well done, but it seems they have a KERS system that gives a boost when you decel or brake, but also added tire degradation based on various tire compounds (according to Broughy). That's an insane level of detail that I'm not used to for cars in GTAO. Every so often they go above and beyond like the level of detail and functionality on something like the Avenger with it's glowing rotor blades and VTOL autopilot. I would also say they went above and beyond on the arcade games and the arcade itself, as a 90s kid some of the decor options hit me right in the feels and make me super nostalgic.

 

To stay on the F1 cars, it seems they also added a functioning pit lane according to Broughy. Who else wants to bet that these cars, open wheel class races as well as the creator update for them will be the annual spring racing update? It seems substantial enough to get a trailer and be made into a sub update like SVC and Transform Races were.

F1 cars will definitely be getting their own races, maybe even an endurance mode too. 10 laps or more depending on how fast the tires wear. These guys are teasing GTA 6 sh*t, cars getting additional functions like KERS, ABS, toe angle, etc.

No I meant there's new wheel models as in more open wheel-wheel options available in LSC however in the game files I remember seeing three identical wheel models for each design type so it's possible each duplicate has unique scripting for soft medium and hard idk

Well, as far as I dislike GTA Online racing for various personal and couple of objective (I prefer different physics) reasons, I don't see any problem with F1 cars added to the game. Why the hate? There's no need to go far away for an example of useless stuff, than this exact update: Retinue Mk2 and JB700 re-released with basically nothing new. And here we're talking about the groundwork for a new game mode that will interest some people.

 

I'm not from the crowd that is pleased with free content just because it's free, but it's hard for me look down on these cars. Yeah, I prefer F1 2018 (still can't finish it and try 2019) or Dirt Rally 2.0/ WRC 8 for driving, but it doesn't mean that these cars are sh*t. Online is like a one stop shop, where you can get some food, tools and even a bicycle, but nothing of it is going to be on par with Michelin stars cuisine, specialized tools for the professionals or custom bikes. There is always something better. Some people just don't get it.
