Fair warning.

This DLC won't live upto the hype/fantasy that people have had in their heads for so long.

You won't get rich from the Casino. House always wins and R* is the House.
It wont be some amazing Social Hub where everyone is RP'ing

It will have an overpriced business attached to it (Racketeering is my guess)

The best stuff (Cars, clothes etc) will be hidden behind the "Spin the Wheel" mechanic

So I'm guessing there wasn't a newswire post about the casino update today?

The accusations of high expectations are getting wild.

Since when is expecting a car list consisting of the same quantity/composition of the likes of Doomsday, some good shops and entertainment as well as a stylish casino/resort with everything Rockstar has mentioned to date become over hyping?

I don't see many people overhyping, they're really expecting just that. And if it's any different and people complain "oh well you overhyped it dadada" comes up. Nuh uh.

I think there's a problem when normal expectations are seen as high. Clearly that means quality isn't up to par.

You've mentioned things I think the majority of the playerbase knows by now, but what's the harm in wishlisting and holding the DLC up to at least some standards?

Anyone who has ever been to the casino or gambled of any kind knows that gambling isn't a get rich quick tactic. It's the younger, less experienced kids who will think they can get rich at the casino

I think if Rockstsr adds a lot of things to do in the casino/resort (which I expect them to) then it very well could be a social hub (and the kind of social hub the nightclubs should have been)

After Arena War I can almost guarantee they'll lock something behind the Lucky Wheel

Exactly my thoughts as well.

This isn't GTA VI.

GTA V is not going to change its entire NPC Interaction system just in one Update.

Don't expect "dynamic" NPCs in the coming Update.

That's just not what the game was built for. The After Hours Nightclub interior is actually pretty well designed with lots of detail put into it. It wasn't "rushed" at all, it's just all that GTA ONLINE is currently able to do.

Sure the NPCs are static, but there are certain "special" events like Lazlow or other Vinewood celebs appearing in the Club if you promote it.

It's more about the feeling of owning a Nightclub, and that feeling is certainly there, and the Nightclub does feel alive, although the NPCs are rather static.

Also....

"misplaced bcz they are dancing at the door of the WC, far away from the dance floor or adjacent area."

LoL

You have never been to a Techno Club I guess?

Nop. I haven't. 😛

But, let's face it...i don't understand nothing of programation, but seems like that they wouldn't be uncapable of doing things that they did in a game of 2009...the npc's being quite static? Ok, f*ck that. But...no mini-games? No interaction with npc's or players? I think they dropped the ball there.

Nothing, I am just speculating about the DLC based on R*'s track record. If I am wrong then I invite everyone to jibe me about it but I am just being realistic. Better to set your expectations low and be presently surprised than set them high and be disappointed.

Hey, @Fun 2, do you think that the "delay" or let's say, the reason why the casino dlc seems to taking longer than expected (even for R*) is just to make sure that critical bug don't appear in the game or have something to do with legislation about those countries who can't gamble. Like, making sure that the players from restricted countres will really be unable to enter in the gambling games. What you think?

Then you haven't been paying attention to this topic like I have. Nobody is doubting a good car list or a nice looking casino.

But what I have seen, is people talking about the Mile High Club being finished and turned into a resort as part of this update. People saying it's logical that Bahama Mama's opens up with this update. People thinking the Casino and Resort are two separate places on the map. Among many, many other ideas that are simply outlandish to say the least.

You made no mistake and no need to apologise. You and everyone else are free to speculate however you wish, and I have only stated my counter speculations. By all means, continue to participate.

Just leave YouTubers out of the conversation.

Off topic but

I shouldn't have said that since the next Fire call, was my house. CO alarm. Welp, and still no R* news, great

I’m guessing it’s screenshots tomorrow and trailer next Thursday or the week after, while certification is underway.

Info? Yeah they have, but to be fair, they have actually released info on every day of the week at one point or another.

ReverseFlash

I've gotten trolled 4 times today by Rockstar. First they troll me with the event week. Then they troll me with no newswire info or trailer. Then they troll me by taking my money away for no reason. And now they've trolled me by cancelling a Liberty City map expansion for GTA V.

Maybe Rockstar will announce something tomorrow? Do they usually do that?

This is why I don't get what the obsession with a "night life/nightclub" DLC hype was all about. GTA has never worked well as a SIM, but as a giant playground based on real world cities and locations that you can race around in, blow s**t up, and in general cause havoc while you hustle money.

Going to some random kids club with the same awkwardly animated NPCs running the same scripted moves was never going to be more entertaining or fun than hanging around in free roam for the overwhelming majority of people. Nightclubs are fun in real life, you know, where you can't walk around downtown with a minigun and blow up cop cars and respawn once you die, so you make do with drinking, dancing, and flirting.

Just like the casino isn't going to make you feel like some suave baller whose walking out of the joint after winning a big hand. You're not even going to get a good simulation of that experience compared to actual casino/gambling games. Just the GTA approximation as filtered through Rockstar's game design.
