It was unnecessary to state that 3D and HD universes are different, to begin with. I mean, who cares if 3D LC and LS maps are so different compared to their HD counterparts? If CJ has a cameo in GTA V, he won't tell jacksh*t about places that exist in 3D SA but not in V, like Unity Station or Blueberry. The map difference would be retconned for good (like it was in RDR2), the stories of the 3D characters would be incorporated to the same GTA universe, and everyone's happy. The door would be open for more cameos in future games.

I never meant that these rules are set in stone. I just pointed out, that major characters have never made their way across universes and there's an explanation for that. So far, they were not deviating from their approach and minor transfers are actually part of it. Things could change and that will be interesting.

the only reason radio hosts famous actors, and people of note that have no real connection to the player character can exist between universes is cause they are a parody and reference that exists like the world of gta.., if they where restricted to the same universe laws as other characters.., a whole chunk of the GTA universe will disappear between universe as history never existed..,

 

these are rockstar ideas.., and they have stated that publicly and how they wish it..,

they can make references to their own games or universes.., but in the end they chose to do it this way..,

generally the people that do complain about it have something to gain.., like a reappearance or a nostalgic character or reference..,

(not all though.., but most..,)

 

the GTA world, and universe is not limited by these factors..,

 

one point people use is why not have it one universe..,(it's probably cause they don't want to deal with lore and a big book, etc etc pretty much calling R* lazy story wise..,)

 

imo why even have stories that can be jarring and not make sense to each other exist between universes.., it just adds another limiting factor..,

and having it this way opens many things up to their imagination, creativity..,

and allows them to redesign and rebuild the world/universe and they see fit..,

the vast majority d ont look at the lore or plot points between games between universes..,

and less so between universes..,

those if us in forums or have played past games generally get this knowledge from playing, exploring or videos anyways..,

 

it's an endless topic that should really just accepted as is..,

we got other things, better things to focus on anyways..,

 

 

edit: I would think an AP Pistol Mk.II would be either larger, slightly longer..  or built..,

I guess that problem is only for the host of the heist. Bcz, how many new players play all the heists that we got so far without any chronological order or even fresh out of the "boat", i mean, "plain", and can already become a street boss with every bussiness if that player buys shark cards? I think that doesnt matter that much as long R* get the money. But, yes, for hosts i think you need to have done the story missions of casino 1st dlc as a host too.

The only reason they even created this rule in the first place is so they don't have to keep caring about continuity errors. Just because they are different universes doesn't mean they can't share events and characters. 99.99% of things might be exactly the same in both timelines and that's fine. That's what having a parallel universes means... 

And the best proof of that is that we already had characters (for example Cris Formage), DJs (Lazlow), bands (Love Fist), rappers (Mad Dogg, OG Loc), companies, weapons and vehicles that appeared both in 3D universe and HD universe (some of them are even from the 2d universe as well). So its safe to assume that both universes are very, VERY similar, with only slight differences.

You can even pick Claude from gta 3 or John from RDR as your father when you create your gtaonline character (if you want to assume that gtao is even canon. But Its not in my book).

tl;dr - just because those are two universes doesn't mean they can't share the same characters. Just because someone appeared in 3D universe doesn't mean he can't exist in HD universe. 

Why you say that Online ins't canon for you? It seems to me that if R* didnt made us understand that the online story is now in present days and it's been there since the begining (starting with 6 months preview from the SP story) i would also say that Online wasn't canon...but the way it is, it makes huge sense to be. You have Agent 14 telling it's 2017 (when we were actually in 2017), you have Cheng in 2019 telling that he have bad memories of that place where we need to go in one of the misions bcz he was almost killed there eyars ago (which means that the ending C of SP is the canon one).

Who else here uses weapons based on their aesthetic? I never enter pvp scenarios so I just use what looks nice / what I enjoy. I love using smgs, the SNS pistol, the no-stock Kalashnikov (forget its name in-game), the Striker shotgun etc.

I rly hope we gonna get some cool unique heist aircrafts in this dlc. Or at least some RC toys or something with new features that expends the gameplay. Especially since the last dlc just gave regular cars and nothing else. 

Still waiting for AirWolf with rocket boost but there are sooo many different and weird things that they could add...

Because story mode is semi realistic. And in GTAonline? Everyone owns bikes and cars with unexplained futuristic hover technology, laser weapons, TERRIBLE unrealistic outfits, orbital cannons and stuff like that. "Present day" my ass... In my eyes gtao is just a side content, imaginary fever dream/TV show/coma you fall into after getting shot for the first time. That would explain why there's technology like its the year 2177.

If I would assume that the content from gtaonline is canon that would mean every future GTA game that's set after 2017 would also have to have those flying bikes in the story mode. And that... just doesn't feel like GTA at that point.

This is such a strange time for the Next Speculation Thread. Can we just come to the conclusion that the new pistol is based on the glock? There’s enough details with the gun that suggests it is based on the glock with maybe some inspiration off of other guns so Rockstar could avoid getting sued.

 

If I need to repeat myself again, I’m going to get a glock IRL and shoot myself with it.

You know what would be cool? A new radio station. Since we are getting a Arcade Game Store bussiness, that is linked with 80's, 90's gaming. So, a readio about....no....not "80's music" per se, bcz we all know that if GTA 6 will be set in Vice City of course it would have some radio station of 80's music and i do not think R* will throw that pearl to GTA V when it will have a lot more purpose in GTA 6, if set in Vice. But a Synthwave Radio, would be cool. It would give us nostalgic feeling but is something more about "retro futuristic music". Examples:

Dude, that's a long trip you did there! What you can say about futuristic are the delorean and the opressor. But in fact, there's already bikes like that. And apart from that, it's a video game, it can get a little more tech without in real life we are in that tech advancement stage. Those things are just for shark card sales, R* don't give a sh*t if they make a lot of sense or not to the realism that gta titles always tried to represent.

inflict more damage 

lock on faster 

take special ammo

Imo, it could be a New pistol in general. Not a MK2 AP Pistol
