The Heists update was the most requested update by the community, it brought lots of players back to the game. Same case with the casino update.

I don't think this will be the last update but if it is I think Cops & Crooks is only going to be part of it, I can totally see them incorporating street racing and even mansions into this update.  the last 3 big update ideas, aside from a naval one but I doubt that is ever coming

You quit playing gta online does not mean that other people stop playing gta.  gta online is my number 1 favorite game i play everyday and gta online is second most played game on ps4. Check the PlayStation store

youtubers made 100 videos about police and crook update, even we don't know anything about the next update. What if the next update is based on a completely different theme? Haha

Well I hope whatever the next update is it gives us access to the IAA outfit/accessoires.

My character is set up to be some kind of mercenary/security/hired gun/get you stuff you want guy and IAA freelancer, so being able to walk around with gunbelt and badge would be perfect.

 

Being able to get the cop outfit, own copcars and "fight crime" would be nice to. And it would fit right into the "story" of online. Aka. Rackman and 14 whipe our records clean so we can join the force as an inside man and spy on something for the IAA all while getting rid of the competition (in form of NPC organisations) that threatens our own criminal bussinesses.

I looked back a few pages and I’d just like clarification: is this “new free mode” thing a certainty, or is it still up im the air as to whether it’s just an adversary mode? Of course nothing’s set in stone until it’s formally announced, but short of that we’re certain of it? And I’m guessing that’s where all this talk of cops and crooks comes from.

In short, Tez, as a data-miner himself, discovered that R* put some scripts that will change the free mode at some extent, with the next update being a high possibility. It's not a adv. mode, or it's some kind of "adv. mode that uses all the map and it's something like a role play (that's why roles are a possibility that may come)". If it's cops and crooks it's just a guess, bcz it's the most related thing of this subject that we know or can think about. But youtubers made already a lot of clickbait videos about that and the rumor became a huge rumor. xD OR maybe it's nothing special and the dlc will be something with a very different theme.

I think a police/vigilante system is possible, maybe even likely, but I don't see why it would require some new kind of freemode.

 

I keep thinking back to someone's suggestion that they'll add a Battle Royale mode. That'd be horrible, but the stupidity of the idea doesn't make it less possible, and it would explain a new freemode option.

But is true that many updates, due to lack of better game system, since the game's code is old af, and/or lack of good ideas, many dlc's came out to be just half assed.

They already tried give us a PUBG vibe with motor wars (if i recall correctly the name of that adv mode) and that didn't go too well...bcz, the map was too big and the time little to explore before the space become smaller, it had the same guns dropped in the area like in those other adv modes and last but most important, you could see the other player icons in the map...which killed the surprise element of PUGB. x)

A Caprice lookalike, a newer Stanier and a civillian version of whatever those unmarked cruisers/taxis are would be awesome. I’m not entirely sure why, but I feel way more special driving around in a more subtle and understated luxury car. Sometimes the Grottis and Pegassis just get boring.

Jokes aside there are still a few requested updates I can think of that Rockstar can do. I'm starting to think that for the average Joe, GTA has become a game you play only if there is an update out. So the updates might as well be requested to get people intrigued and hop back on to check them out.

 

Not to mention the GTA feedback page is fairly recent (March is long time ago but Update wise)

 

In other words the updates for GTA Online from now on should technically be highly requested. But it's just a theory, because you never know what can happen

I was thinking about a possible "Cops and Crooks" update today.  It could be a lot of fun.  I would love to see some requirements, like in order to be a cop in a free mode session your mental state has to be calm, you have to be a certain level.  Only so many cops allowed per session of course.  So you get in your cop car and you are off the radar.  You have speed radar and can bust other players for excessive speed, wreckless driving ect.  

 

So the player tries to get away from you...say once you start chasing him he goes off the radar for you.  On your cop car you have emp's and harpoons and other weapons to use.  But a good driver driving a fast car has a good chance to get away and then of course they should win rp and money.  

 

I could see people hiding behind road signs for cars driving by ect.  Could be a lot of fun..

Maybe I missed something, but there’s a massive elephant in the room with regards to a cops/crooks update: the Mk.II. How exactly would we be able to do anything with some cruisers and riot vans if we’re on the recieving end of that thing? I feel like they’d have to place a bunch of restrictions, and I just can’t imagine a seperate freeroam that’s so drastically different to the point of removing those meme vehicles.
