Literally every update since rdr2 announced in 2016 people have been like "Alright, this is it, Rockstar is shutting it

I suspect that when GTA 6 drops, there will  be one more update to GTA 5, then that will be the last

I have the same feeling: all DLCs released lately, every time, many youtubers force it to be "confirmed" as the last DLC. 

 

The point is that in the last comments the comparisons are very unrealistic.

It's very easy for you to point out "look at 2014 people just wanted Heists, nobody wanted to know about a lot of cars"

But where is the fact that Rockstar has all its attention focused on a possible DLC SP / Map expansion?

Rockstar had no idea what "BOOM" would be Online, so as many people know here, all (or most of the content) was converted to Online.
 

That is, GTA Online cannot be compared to RDO, simply because GTA has been fully adjusted (DLC's) to the reality (demand) that requested the game at the moment.

Unlike RDO, which is being fully planned from the start, so much so that Rockstar itself mentioned that it is not working on SP content, very different from the 2014 GTA.

I believe we will see a GTA 6 only in 2023.

1 - "Killing Online" right now, after so many people at Casino DLC, would be extremely irrational (especially when it comes to financially $).

2 - RDO needs a long time to stay stable (as it was with GTA),

3 - GTA 6 between 2020/2021 would greatly affect an RDO progression (yes, they are different titles, but it is not very difficult to understand that this would affect immensely if it happened)

GTAO shouldn't go down without getting a QoL update first, hell, make it the last update ever if they must, but they just can't leave the game in such a sh*tty state.

 

The community should push way more for said kind of update if you ask me.

I doubt they will leave GTAO, as it's their cash cow - as long as Red Dead Online wouldn't introduce flying missile chrome unicorns.

Even if they committed a very minimal staffing resource, just enough to keep GTAO's servers and promotional programs running and to fix critical issues, it would keep earning piles of cash until 6 comes out.  

Of course I have no better idea than anyone else about what goes on inside the walls of the mysterious R*, but I would be surprised if they're not getting close to that bare-bones point after the next update or so.

 

And as for the RDR2 Combat Unicorn MkII, I reckon that's gonna come out sometime around mid 2021

You know, when I drive by the casino the game will legitimately freeze for a good couple of seconds before chugging along, in an invite only session. Cash cow or not, the game is getting worse with every update. Someone over there is gonna step up to the investors and point out that demand drives profits. If they stop updating gta5, demand and hype for gta6 skyrockets.

 

It's really a win win

Sadly, I totally agree. If there's a big structural bug in the game at the moment, chances of it getting fixed at this point are probably slim. Why repaint the house if you're going to demolish it in a few years' time?

That issue has started to happen way back in Gunrunning, if you drive down LSC in Downtown your screen freezes for a few seconds.

But it got worse with the Diamond.

Theme-wise I'm not really bothered; however, an IV pack would be nice. Just a simple selection of IV vehicles.

Never played IV, the main guy I could not stand after watching some friends play it but stuff from gta vice city, gta sa and vice stories would be sweet.

 

I still want to make an Yakuza family and have missions for it, maybe some Japanese clothing, hair styles,  more cars and bikes from Japan.

I got everything I wanted except Tuners/NFS/MidnightClub update, which I hardly believe will be released, so I would be glad just for anything new.

If be happiest if we got an epic IGG part III with Comet and Bullet Classics, a Buffalo Classic and Modern Hellfire version, GT40 AND P4 Grotti. As for aircraft a F-14, more accurate F-35, modern updated and stealth Blackhawk and a SA style hover craft. New guns, MkIIs and melee weapons. 

 

After IGGIII the only theme left is Tuners or mansions (mansions could come with IGGIII actually...), after that just random packs of cars, clothes and the occasional fire arm. Too much to ask probably but a guy can dream.

A lot of people were expecting the casino update to be very ill gotten gains styled but it was not overpriced or “covered in gold” I’d be happy to get another one of those updates honestly I think we should have gotten another one after doomsday heist and not whatever SSASSS was

The only things that spring to my mind as potentially planned single player content that has yet to be reworked is MAYBE the underwater side of things, which given the Stromberg I'm not sure about and Aliens/Fort Zancudo. Maybe Rockstar could find a way to combine these into a single update for December? But then there's the problem of T2. They love GTA Online for the money it makes to this day with such little market campaigning, they more than likely want this to go on until Rockstar say to them; "We literally cannot maintain the stability of the Online mode that ensure people will spend money if we make another major update, we need to release a new title and start from there".

 

Given that the Casino Dripfeed is lasting right up until December signals to me that they understand how badly Arena War went over, especially after 3 months since the last piece of new content that wasn't either an already in-game car or Remixed Advesary Mode.

 

2016 - Import/Export got leaked in its entirety.

2017 - People expected Hipsters 2, we got Doomsday Heist.

2018 - I expected Doomsday Acts 4 & 5, we got Arena War.

2019 - Who knows?

 

What I do know is what the last ever Dripfeed item should be when we do arrive at the final major update, and that's the Mission Creator.

The *vapid uranus which has been requested by many over the years. Being a foxbody mustang it could really have some potential and i think many would aprecciate its addition.
