I mean, he confirmed the leak, the identity of the leaker, posted hints about the casino before we even got the leak and said not to expect heists, how else am I supposed to take it other than he has information others don't?

I am over Fun passing off reading the tunable as a 'leak', and everyone getting excited over it. It's obvious R* has found a way to limit what is revealed, either by locking up the back-end or changing how they prep updates. The leakers love the attention, if they didn't and if they actually knew something others do not, they could easily create new accounts and reveal all, but it's not about sharing with the community, it's about the fame of doing so.

Has it ever occurred to you that maybe, just maybe, Spider-Vice and Fun/Yan/anyone else who has some knowledge about this update communicate and speculate dates together?

Dude may borrow that tin foil hat you're wearing? You're implying that Vice knows something we don't. When everyone is just speculating because of what they consider sensical. At the end of the day nobody knows a damned thing.

it actually has occurred to me that they speak in private, but why would they speculate about what they already know?  I mean, you admit it's possible Yan speaks to the forum mods and tells them stuff but that it's not possible that he knows the date?

maybe go through his posts again, I was here when the leak happened, watched it all unfold, Spider dropped hints about it being a casino update before there was even a leak, he is not speculating, but sure, it's not at all possible a mod on this forum speaks to former leakers in private...

Because I genuinely believe that no outside source whatsoever knows the true release except for Rockstar, and maybe not even them because of how the QA and bugs and other factors go.

People been speculating about casino update way before these props were added outside or did you forget the amount of old gen topics and discussions videos in YouTube regarding the casino as soon the opening soon banner was placed? bottom line, I like leaks, I live for them, especially for this game...  I will continue to dissect and analyze the sh*t out of potential leaks, y'all are fine only accepting official information, but as I said earlier, if we stuck to official information in this thread it wouldn't be a speculation thread, it would be an information thread

Again, they could simply add more prop locations to the next tuneable. In fact that could have been the plan all along, as not to reveal the actual date, or in case it did change.

 

I still think we see the RDR2O Roles update this next week, with three weeks of hype on that,  followed by the GTAO update mid-July. Giving both content to drip-feed through the Fall.

Have you thought about there's a big difference between knowing what's coming and knowing when it's coming? It's probably  not like the update been approved by Sony/Microsoft for a month already and they're just waiting as long as possible to release it.. Maybe it was planned to come the 2nd, maybe it's coming that day and maybe it's not. Maybe Spider knows when it's coming but either way, it's not confirmed until R* says so

blatantly saying it's coming the 2nd sounds a lot more like a claim than speculation btw

Well I dont care about none of that. Once the date is dropped the next thing I look forward to is the car files the morning of release. Those instantly tell me whether or not I'll care for this DLC. Then I go from there. There will be obvious bitching if of course for some reason its like After Hours all over again (highly unlikely) otherwise I'll probably bitch about nothing being available bc its dripfeed but quickly get hyped and log on and play.

At this point seems like we're in loop. If you don't talk so much about the subject, the times go by quicker...it's a waste of time and pages we keep repeating ourselves about which date will be, dammit. When the DLC drop, it will drop. Without any more info, we just need wait to see the day of it's release.

Here´s what I think:

1)  It would be imensely stupid to release this DLC in July ( as in opposed to June) because of the quarterly earnings call. If it´s July, it´s Q3, and being Q3, doesnt have any impact on the Q2 earnings call, and by the time the Q3 ernings call happens, it will be really old news. At the very beggining of a quarter is the worse possible moment to release anything. Rockstar is filthily rich, so they may not care about that, but with RDR Online being the massive failure it is, I would not miss the chance to release this tomorrow if i was CEO, to be able to cheer investors up in the earnings call with it. I doubt QA is the issue, and I doubt they would put up the props to have it not mean anything and have no direct relation to the actual release date.

2) I also think that they would not have this released after July 4th. Independence Day is a massive summer marker in the U.S, things released after it are considered post mid summer, and like some here have said, they wont be able to delve into it as much as they´d like, which would drive shark card sales down. Leaks or no leaks, i  am talking about business sense. 

3) 3 words: STEAM - SUMMER - SALE. I don´t know the actual percentage of PC GTA accounts next to ps4 or xbox, but if Rockstar wants PC players to have any money to spend on shark cards, they better release the DLC tomorrow. Steam Summer Sale is already here...this may empty a whole lot of wallets.

who?  I know full well it takes time to get approval, but R* don't send something for approval unless they are 99% sure it will get approved.  many people make posts that say "Thursday trailer, (insert date) release" are those speculation or claims?
