I doubt it, the Dec updates are historically the largest, and I see no reason for that to change this year.

That article even said GTA was still "the cash cow". But I think they want enough hype to keep the increase in the playerbase still going. Thus, Im keeping my bets on the 25th. Tgis might be their last big DLC, so let it marinate, e.g. 7 weeks from announcement #1 to release. You can argue 6 weeks should basically do all the same.

I'm jealous of Warframe. Warframe has revamped every system since launch, added in new systems, constant communication between the community and devs, get's huge expansions, has somehow evolved the graphics over time. GTA Online hasn't done any of this. Barely anything in the game has evolved, the graphics are still the same, we don't get any communication, the "DLC's" we get are pretty small compared to expansions for games like Destiny 2 and WOW and the new systems we've gotten have only been about CEO stuff.

 

Like mostly everything in the game is the same besides a few things. I wanted GTA Online to evolve. It hasn't evolved. 

 

God I hope this new DLC is something special. I look at other online games and their community's and I just get jealous. I want Rockstar to give us a DLC that really updates and evolves the game into something brand new. Like update the graphics, add new maps, balance the game, give us new gameplay mechanics and systems, add in new characters, add new stories, expand even more of the Criminal Empire stuff, open up the world a bit more, add in dedicated servers. That'd be a DLC worth buying. 

 

I'm really grateful that Rockstar is giving me a Casino finally and still giving us Free DLC's after 6 years but Idk. It kinda feels sloppy that we get cut content from single player as big DLC's now. Like what other game does this.

Isn't the casino called something else in game? Be Lucky or something like that? What if all this construction stuff is just a red herring? The announcement said heart of Vinewood and that casino is like, adjacent to the heart of Vinewood.

As of now it's called "Be Lucky" but it'll have to change since Rockstar has renamed it to The Diamond Casino and Resort.

I never said it was doing better overall, just that at this point in RDO it's doing better than GTAO was at that point.  this update will not be their last and Dec updates are always the biggest, I see no reason why that would change now.  I personally have no clue when it's coming and at this point won't even hazard a guess, R* do what they want and have very few patterns

Agreed, Crockstar makes zero sense. Btw, bc of the point of the life of the conaole when it was released, i think R* knows RDRO is limited compared to GTAO.

no one ever thought a cowboy game would do better than a modern open world crime sim with fast cars and big guns, the fact that it's doing nearly as well, and better than GTAO at this point, is pretty cool

And it had better... GTAO is almost 6 years old I would not expect an old game to still be doing as good as something fresh and brand new no matter how regularly updated/played it is. GTAO is past its prime. Maybe not in content/quality (quite the contrary long as we don't get After Hours 2 situation) but you know... it's dusty.

by now my biggest concern is that they're prepping RDR online for a PC release, and think that will get players to switch....and they're gonna fall flat on their faces. fanbase size is not even close. if they wait till rdr online is on pc and stop releasing dlcs for gta, they're gonna lose a lot of money.

 

They have a small hardcore rockstar fanbase, but for most people, they just know rockstar exists because they made gta....GTA is much bigger than rockstar itself.

You will know the dlc is coming out in a week when they add crazy disconnected prices on stuff for an event week.
