I like GTA V better than GTA IV because the game had three protagonists, heist missions, more things to do, planes, jets, car customization, weapon customization, character customization, buy properties, interesting characters, desert, funny sense of humour, better presentation, buy helicopter hangar, plane hangar, weapon range, animals, kill animals, golf, tennis and hunting are much better than bowling, pool and darts, fun missions, less repetitive missions, first person mode, dive underwater, insane music in the background.. what's your opinion?

IV has the best physics engine and the best ragdolls, but V has more things to do and keeps me entertained far much longer despite it's seemingly long list of problems. And I think fun wins. If I was answering this question 2-3 years ago I would've said IV but V feels more like a game to me and a bit less like an interactive crime novel.

Easily IV. V just has far too many problems and it's size/quantity just doesn't make up for it. It was too much of a downgrade, in some aspects even in comparison to 3D era games.

GTA V is a good game but i still prefer IV to V based on storyline and character development .

GTA V. Even though I liked the story of GTA IV a lot more, GTA V was just more fun to play.

Could've been V if it had interesting stories and cast of characters. It's mainly why I choose to go with IV.

Easily GTA IV for reasons I’ve stated countless times.

GTA IV.

But I have been playing GTA V over the last few weeks. I'm even starting to take more of a liking towards Trevor. (I'm not kidding BTW)

I'm over arguing which is "better" since it's been flogged like a dead horse. Whatever your tastes and mood I guess. I appreciate GTA V has more of a "sandboxy" kind of feel and GTA IV's more story, character and world driven.

IV for better setting, better story & characters, better (IMO) attention to detail, better soundtrack and better wanted system

IV, but I do admit to liking San Andreas better as a location. However, IV felt much more complete as a game; it had realism, excellent character development, writing, among many other things. V was fun to play and I do admit to liking Trevor the most compared to Michael and Franklin, but the story itself felt a bit rushed and there wasn't really enough time to feel much of anything aside from having played just another GTA game with a decent map and some nice cars. That's all, really; I think it had great potential, but it ended far too quickly and lacked so much that IV actually had!

Hm, I can't really decide. IV has better characters, story, and physics. V is more open and polished, has better controls.

GTA 5, though not a fan of either.

GTA 5 has some sort of countryside, slightly better radio stations, much wider range of vehicles, more exciting missions.

Kind of looking at both with certain dose of despise, mildly speaking, so it goes neither way for me. I did enjoy EFLC in some strange and wierd way though, but that doesn't count.

V. So far every new GTA game has been an improvement from the last game for me. (Not including LCS/VCS/Chinatown) I hope this trend continues with GTA 6.

GTA IV. I prefer IV's story, characters, city and its implementation of physics and essential gameplay mechanics. V does customizability, map diversity and vehicle variety better but I see those as elements of secondary priority.

GTA V by a hair. Mainly because

- I really like the heist theme of the game

- I love experiencing Californian type settings in general and free roaming in V's map was always wonderful. IV's concrete jungle has its own charm but I guess I just prefer the SoCal setting more

- Little things like first person mode, having multiple protagonists kind of made it more enjoyable to free roam V's map ( experiencing the world through the different characters or through a different view used to give me more incentive to explore V's map ). IV's LC is also a fantastic playground, shootouts here were the best but I was just a bit more drawn to V in general, though the difference between these two isn't much for me
