GTA V

- Blimps

- Los Santos finally appears in the HD universe

- Proper weapon wheel

- UFOs make an appearence

- You can roll in any direction

- You can finally slide over waist high obstacles

- We finally get a proper wildlife

- First time we can actually customize our weapons

- Topless strippers

- First time our protagonists have special abilities at our disposal

- Lamar Davis

GTA SA

- Gave us the air control for vehicles we now come to expect with the HD universe

- First time we get to properly tune our vehicles

- First time we actually get to climb obstacles and go swimming

- Gave us the Hydra

- JETPACK

- Crouching

- First time we can roll side to side during gun fights

- We can learn different fighting styles

- Gambling

- CJ can get fat

- Big Smoke

So yeah honestly can't choose between them as they are still great games. GTA SA gave us many features we came to expect while GTA V went on to refine most of them.

SA brought us climbing, swimming, proper aircraft, lots of new vehicles, a good story to keep us hooked, and a pretty big map. V on the other hand, is in my opinion just a pile of sh*t served on a nice silver platter. The graphics are acceptable, gun and vehicle customization is pretty cool, but that's really all there is to it in my opinion. The story is pretty much sh*t for V, the characters have "powers" that are just there to differentiate the gameplay a bit and have no other real reason to exist, the ability to crouch that's been with us since VC is gone, etc. For me, SA wins. Again, no offense to GTA V fans, I say this again just to make sure no butthurt fan is going to slit my throat with a rusty cleaver.

San Andreas, it's not even a contest lol.

It's the lesser of the two evils. Atleast San Andreas actually has some decent characters to relate to.

San Andreas. It's not that difficult to vote.

Also, why is OP bashing SA because it's "old"? It's like bashing the 2D GTA games because of the top-down view.

San Andreas and it's not even close. The shining star of the GTA series, no doubt.

I have seen this fight between so many of you on this forum for a while now. So time to vote.

Here is why I chose GTA V and didn't choose GTA San Andreas:

- GTA V can't even be compared to SA in many cases. They are years apart.

- Graphics, duh.

- One city, yes I said one city. I'll take a highly detailed beautiful city than a 3D one any day

- Three characters, I mean c'mon! It's a first for GTA but such an awesome feature

- An amazing parody of the city I live in, and the 21 century.

I didn't choose GTA SA because:

- Graphics, duh.

- Although a stepping stone that made GTA V possible, it's outdated now and let it rest in peace.

- Three cities that were not even close to detailing life in them. But that's ok because it's an old game.

- GTA SA was one of my favorite titles of the franchise, I bash it because it's old. Not because it wasn't fun!

Tell me why you voted for the game you did. I apologize if this thread has already been done, I don't read through every page on this forum. Shoot me.

I see you as the type of "gamer" that thinks that just because a game is old means that it can't be good, or at least not as good as a game that's come out now.

I don't like your kind. Not one bit.

I prefer Michael vastly to CJ, a much better character in every way than that bitch. But yeah the side characters suck compared to SA's.

Overall both aren't that great

SA was kinda, I don't know how to say it, maximalist you know. R* had put everything they had in it. All their secret weapons.

Compared to its time, it was really better. It was the best thing R* could do in 2004.

V was the most sellout title in the series (tho I loved Los Santos). Got bored soon after passing half of the story. Maybe I'm getting old lol.

I never really liked SA. Although I haven't beaten it yet. The last mission I did was the famous "follow the train" mission. Everybody's gonna hate me for this but so far I like Franklin more than CJ. V has a better story although it's short. SA had better side activities(vigilante, ambulance, etc.), and, from what I've got so far, better weapons.but V had more stuff to do just mess around like attaching 20 sticky bombs to the roof of a car and watching it "fly", riding a train with 5 stars, and other stuff. Again, I haven't finished SA.

Edit: and I wasn't a real big fan of Franklin's Strangers and Freaks Missions, especially Beverly.

hiding in a bush filming a celebrity having butt sex. Really?

San Andreas has Satchel Charges, basically sticky bombs, and you can ride trains in SA too.

I voted for San Andreas. I'm just going to point out the obvious... You can buy houses in single player of your choice. Now argue with me that you can do the same in sp V! I dare anyone. Oh, you can on V. But, BUT you must go online. Whoopee! V is a cool game. San Andreas takes the cake on buying houses. Girlfriends & not just booty calls.

SA, no doubt about it. It has a better story, more things to do and, what V lacks the most, memorable characters. I guess I'll never forget San Andreas main antagonists, Big Smoke and Tenpenny. I don't even remember V's antagonists.

I've played GTA SA for many years, I played GTA V for 2 weeks. Then I went back to GTA IV because I couldn't stand GTA V. So, GTA IV is the best. GTA SA is better.

GTA SA would be my choice, keeping all the obvious nostalgic reasons aside, I would like to say that while playing SA, as someone mentioned earlier, every area has a reason to exist within the story line. And for me, the feeling of starting from the hood and coming back full-circle to finish what someone else started was an out of the world feeling. It just made you feel as if you started with nothing at this very spot and now after you've worked so hard, seen everything, been here and there, you are back to where you started but now the future is looking bright & you actually get a sense of accomplishment. I know I did.

I've played SA since PS2 release, and I say V. I simply enjoy V more because most of all the features I care about that SA has, V also has but better.

-Better car customization

-Bigger and more interesting map

-Better physics

-Better vehicle selection

-Better animation

-Better weapon selection + customization

-Better mission design

-Better wanted level system

-Better sound effects

-Better business ownership

Only things SA did better were character customization (both clothes and bodybuilding feature) and soundtrack.

GTA SA Multiplayer is better especially REMASTERED although GTAV has advance graphics it's only a copy of an evolving SAMP.

Honestly , this is a hard one for me. My GTA history began with IV. My first experience with this series was coming to Liberty City as Niko Bellic. Instantly I fell in love with this game.

As I said, IV was my first. A couple of weeks ago I finally finished SA remastered for PS3. Even though I did not get that jolt that I experienced with IV, I have to say that SA was fun to play. Despite the dated graphics and twisting story, I wanted to play this game. I've only played it once but compared to V, SA had somethig extra for me to look forward to that V just did not have. I actually cared what happened to the characters. V was so detached. The story kind of fit the city but it was way too vague. The city is extremely detailed but nothing is there to hold it together. Believe it or not, I've only played V once and that was way back in 2013.

In the end, my vote goes to SA.

I'd play V anyday over SA.

Because of graphics, characters and missions... Almost everything are better in my opinion.

GTA SA Better than GTA V!!

GTA 5 may look good , SA has the gameplay that 5 or GTA 6 will have to emulate.
