I don't like how restrictive the clothing can be and it's annoying switching to Trevor (for example) and he's in his underwear or something however that doesn't mean San Andreas deserves to be let off the hook.

When it comes to clothing style I just see that as a matter of taste. For me CJ looks like a douchebag in just about anything he wears so after I realised that I just stuck to his default outfit. With GTA V I feel the clothing fits each of the protagonists' personalities much better. I mean you say the suits Michael wears makes him look like a 70 year geezer, but that's Michael's lifestyle. His suits makes him look fulfilled and distinguished for someone technically at the mid point of their life, but if you don't like that his casual clothing doesn't make look so old so to speak.

Yeah,a lot of clothes in SA looked kinda stupid, but at least we had freedom to make any kind of outfit we wanted,be it something normal looking or something completely ridiculous.

As for Michael,I didn't mean his suits, those actually look good. What I meant was all those polo shirt-shorts-flip flops outfits, those look like something a retired suburban boomer would wear, not a middle aged guy (though maybe I'm wrong, and middle aged guys in California do wear such outfits).

Part of Michael's character is he's living in a mid life crisis in a "retirement" phase and he's pulled back into a life of crime. I'd say his clothing choices suit him (no pun intended).

But yes the biggest flaw with GTA V's clothing is the restrictive mix and matching. San Andreas does this better, but when it comes to buying clothes I prefer GTA V anyday.

San Andreas with ease.

Say what you will about CJ or whatever, but that map is one of the best maps Rockstar has ever created. It may seem small now, but the three cities and so much diversity made it so incredible back in the day.

@B Dawg

Hey B, just to let you know, peds in SA indeed do have that animation when they stagger with raised hands in attempt to hold their heads, well, that empty space where it was once placed, lol.

Interestingly enough, I couldn't find any firearm that produces that exact effect, but animation itself will kick in after using a katana sword and only if you manage to decapitate them after a few swings. Go figure.

I rather enjoy three big cities and ten small towns in old graphics to one city and two small towns in nicer graphics.

That is why I go for San Andreas. I don't give a f*ck about flashy graphics. GTAV LS is cartoonish and unrealistic. Looks and feels fake like Vinewood boobs.

Three characters sucked.

In SA you have CJ who has more attitude than Michael, Trevor, Frsnklin combined.

San Andreas is superior in every way --- story, soundtrack, voice acting, setting --- you name it

With GTAV Rockstar games sold out, they tried to be Ubisoft or Saints Row or whatever.

GTA San Andreas is Rockstar Games, Rockstar North at its finest.

More like we have CJ who is more inconsistent, whiny and just a general bitch than Michael, Trevor and Franklin combined.

I think San Andreas is better overall

GTA V is a great game in its own right but San Andreas was imo an absolute behemoth of a game, it felt like a jack of all trades kinda game while at the same time it didn't compromise its quality for the amount of content it had. I liked the multi protagonist system in V especially for free roaming but I thought the multiple cities of San Andreas was even better in that regard. I liked both stories but while V's story occasionally drags ,like during the heist prep missions and the endings felt a bit rushed, San Andreas' story felt consistently engaging despite being considerably longer ( imo the only part where it drags is near the end where you have to retake the gang territories, though i liked how intense it was to takeover LS so I didnt mind so much). San Andreas has probably the best map in GTA, a lot of amazing side content , a more memorable soundtrack and character cast and even a better set of cheats in my opinion

I really liked GTA V, the heist theme was cool and Los Santos is one of my favourite open worlds but San Andreas felt like this epic journey where you took on an entire criminal underworld and came on top, which I get can seem cheesy but I personally liked it and that's what makes San Andreas better for me.

San Andreas, no contest.

The single Player of San Andreas was a journey, an experience. The SP of GTA V felt like an afterthought/ unwanted duty. The depth/scope of San Andreas is unmatcched. As are the characters, ranging from Tenpenny (Samuel L Jackson!!!) to The Truth.

The map, with three cities and countryside was simply amazing. Not that V's map is any bad, on the contrary, it is large, detailed, gorgeous. Unfortunately they used next to nothing for the (way too short for threee characters ) story, leaving it a hollow decor.

That was deep and enlightening. Anyway, 'nostalgia' is surely a subjective moment and as such can be hard to enlist as a viable reason why something is better than something else, but more power to SA in either case.

It's hard to deny SA was released in some " better times " looking introspectively and from my own personal stand of view, but what makes that initial spark of nostalgia evolve further to a realization Sa is indeed a better game for me, is the fact I didn't even bother more than twice to beat V, while, honestly I cannot number the times I've beaten SA and not only that, but the fact I'm still playing that game, enjoying it just like it was released yesterday.

I'm pretty sure that's not simply because of being nostalgic, but rather because of the sheer quality it has.

Despite technical advancements of the time in which it was created, V falls short to excite and or to move the scale a bit higher, while SA had shattered the same scale and amazingly kept on going, despite having less to 'work with'.

The only thing V has against SA is more serious narrative, more deeper and polished one, which ultimately doesn't have to mean better story, not even that much on its side. When it comes to gameplay, SA is way more serious game, V is a child's play - not counting that serious narrative which looks even worse standing next to the retarded gameplay - you can clearly see the makers intention in making it way too easy so everyone can play it, a compromise that should have never taken place. Ultimately, V is only more successful game in terms of sales, one more reason to fear for the future of GTA franchise.

I prefer gta v bc the story is deeper and the characters are more engaging. There's things I prefer about San Andreas like the amount of small towns in between major cities and you don't have to go online to have a hydra. But v is better to me bc of how much I enjoy the more alive atmosphere of the city (even tho some parts are far too sparse) and the story isn't as formulaic (cj works with mobs and the CIA and comes out on top).
