Boring in offline after campaign?

Recommended Posts

darksats

After finishing gta v campaign there is nothing fun or interesting activties to do except golf. in san andreas you never get bored when you play after you finished campaign and i played it continuosly for six months. there is so much content that never makes you get bored. Rockstar has intentionally made offline boring after the campaign with nothing fun to do so that everyone move online so they can charge them for shark cards. thats not the case with san andreas. there was no online mode and they want to make people play it for long time by never getting bored and having fun anytime they play it so it gets more appreciation and sales. but now they focused on online.

Well yeah seeing the whole singleplayer update thing was canceled, there isn't as much to do as we would hope. It is still a pretty big map though with plenty of things to visit and there's a decent amount of side missions and collectibles. In that sense, it is a big improvement above IV - which has an amazing story line but outside of that not much to offer.

If you're on PC, a singleplayer mod menu such as Simple Native Trainer may bring more fun in the game.

Had plenty of fun with the map and vehicles after the story ended. Also there were loads of side activities. However there are four major things missing in comparison to SA. 1. Good cheats 2. Criminal related side activities 3. Interiors 4. GOOD NPCs

Yeah, the game is still pretty fun after the story and this coming from a guy who completed the story recently.

There's a lot of activities to participate in besides golf.

Not really, GTA V & SA are the ones where I have more eager to keep role-playing after finishing the story because it's "happy ending". Spending money in cars and property, hanging out. However in games like GTA IV & the Redemption series, the world just feels hollow for me after the journey is completed. That's why I have more replays in those games...

I mean, there's all the standard fun GTA stuff to do like shootouts, fighting, exploring, driving etc. But what are the "lots of side activities" people are talking about? There's really not a lot of fun side activities in V....car customisation, golf and parachuting are pretty good but tennis, darts, hunting, yoga, business management and races aren't very good, and clothing choices are pretty much pointless since they keep changing whenever you switch character. The majority of side activities are a one off (collectibles etc), run out (friend dialogues, movies, random events other than a few of the most boring/repetitive ones etc) or you wouldn't want to do them more than once (god-awful tow truck missions for example)

When I hear that it has "loads more" side activities than IV I have to laugh....they both have a selection of games (IV has bowling, darts, pool etc) and other random stuff, and neither add up to a huge amount of side activities compared to say San Andreas. But IV at least has crime based side activities - vigilante, most wanted, assassinations (that are separate from main missions), car thefts, drug running, and gang and drug wars in Episodes. V has what....4 non-replayable bail bond missions and 5 arms trafficking missions (that aren't fun to replay) for Trevor, and that's it. Edit: I forgot Trevor's rampages with are cool. Still though, it's not much and Michael and Franklin have literally zero crime based side missions lol

For me the basic GTA elements I mentioned at the beginning of my post are the important thing and what I do 90% of the time when I play the game outside the story, and I found that kept me entertained in V for a long time. Side activities are not one of V's strong suits though.

I mean, let's be fair, after you complete any of the GTA storylines, there isn't that much to do....

The activities were without a doubt, a step up from IV since the game felt a bit empty once you complete the story, even if there isn't that much to do in V.

Like every GTA game, you have to make it fun. Try mixing some cheats or doing some experiments or more.

Non-crime activities were mostly a step up from IV, I liked the flight school challenges, stuntplane time trials, vehicle customization and money spending opportunities. Parachute jumps were also cool though TBOGT had that too. But GTA V was a step backwards when it comes to crime oriented activities such as car thefts, Most Wanted/Vigilante missions and gang/drug wars (EFLC), and I prefer the latter group of activities.

^ I think the only criminal side activitiy I can remember is gunrunning, rampages, or stealing Gruppe Sechs vans...I think that's about it.

Also the store robberies and bail bond missions. Sadly the list pretty much ends there.

Imagine how cool it would have been to have drug wars? I really loved this in TBOGT. Franklin could have sold drugs or even better, Trevor since he has a meth business.

Even cooler if they integrated the Chinatown Wars drug dealing system. I hope they do this in GTA 6.

I think what you're looking for is robust side activities to do after the story is finished. This is usually what DLC is for, but alas...

There's still plenty to do though. Friend activities are fun, and if you actually do them throughout the story it reveals a lot of dialogue that a casual player might miss out on.

Join the club. Rockstar took a big sh*t on single player and told us to go f*ck ourselves if we don't want to play that garbage Online mode.
