Darukun Posted June 16, 2019 Share Posted June 16, 2019 Hello, everyone. This is my first topic here. So I came across a PSP 2000 with CFW and of course I've downloaded GTA titles to play on it. The problem with all 3 GTA games is that the protagonist (main character) is always running forward by itself. I can switch to d-pad controls, but it's inconvenient. I thought maybe this is somehow firmware issue, so I've updated from 5.50 Gen-D3, to 6.61 LME-2.3. Still no effect. Anyone knows what am I doing wrong? KGBeast Posted June 26, 2019 Share Posted June 26, 2019 Sounds like a sticky analog stick. No pun intended. The PSP stick is a pretty fickle little device. The tension is provided by a small thin spring wrapped around the base, and that spring can get dirty or slip, etc. Then there are two metal contacts in there that communicate the analog movements to the system that are moved by the stick, one that moves vertically and one that moves horizontally. Those contacts can get bent or worn out pretty easily. It definitely wasn't built for durability or longevity. I ended up having to buy a new stick assembly on ebay last year after having similar problems. Sounds like yours is stuck/drifting upwards.
