jazzbone
No gold in online, but i went all out in story mode where i tricked about 100K in gold bars. In online i am not rich enough yet to start dropping gold for weapon cosmetics. However for my Schofield i just had to add the pearl handle. The first weapon of mine to gold will be my pump shotgun. Like in story it will be gold barrell, gold trigger, and gold sights with the frame in black
AmyStone
They don't look as bad as chrome cars in gta but they are a bit too bling for me. It's personal choice. I never get to see what other players guns look like anyway so anything like that seems to be a waste of money. And I like how my guns look natural. TheLordMarvel
If gold guns is what you want, then go for it! I don't see a problem with them. Can look pretty neat!
wehweh01
I love how gold looks in this game. I hope they add platinum eventually. Currently, my LeMat, Semi Auto shotgun, Carcano, Cattleman revolver, and my Varmint rifle are all dipped in gold. I also hope we can have bows dipped in gold as well. Commander S
Depends, same as any other colour - I'm not a big fan of really garish multicolour guns, regardless of the colours used, although gold is a bit more limiting than most others. But then, I'm a bit boring like that - most of my stuff is going to end up in plain, unengraved blued steel with dark, equally-plain stocks/grips, because I want my stuff to look like standard-issue army/law-enforcement kit, and those guns weren't particularly flashy. Leftover Pizza
Not keen on gold guns much myself. Most of my character's stuff is as black as possible. I do have a bit more fancy outfit saved, but I'm mainly using all black on him if possible. Though gold on black is a decent combination, I'm not getting him any. A gold tooth would be an option I'd consider, though. Ronin Ogami
-LN-
I'm just sad that we don't have pink guns like in GTA. I'd love to own a pink LeMat! I'm not really sad, but as for golden guns; to each their own of course, but overall I'm not overly concerned with the purely cosmetic additions to my gun collection. If gold is what you want and gold is what you like, then go for it! However, I just can't justify dipping into my own stash of gold bars at this time for something that others and myself will likely never really notice. I'd rather save my gold bars for things in the future that will benefit or change my overall experience; a golden varmint rifle will kill the same birds as my plain looking varmint rifle, so I'm in no hurry to change or add much of anything there. Do I think they look good? Eh, they don't look as bad as chromed cars, but I've never really given it much thought. Tbh, I'd much rather buy new clothing if I'm not saving or spending for things that will change or enhance my gaming experience. I'm perfectly content with my bland looking collection of guns. StyxTx
You wouldn't like my gun collection. They are all gold. I love them. Ronin Ogami
IamCourtney
I love warm, gold/bronze/brass colours as a general rule but they usually look like sh*t when overdone. And sometimes that might be a look worth going for, for RP reasons or just as a goof. As has been said, you're the only one who ever really gets a good enough look at your guns for it to matter much. Van_Hellsing
If you want to be the man with the golden gun, knock yourself out. But it is not for me. With golden guns, you look like a pimp. The only cosmetic I indulge in is pearl and black grips. I called my dual LeMats North and South, Day and Night, Alpha and Omega, so to speak. The Dedito Gae
Revolvers might look good if you are going for a villain look, but other than engraving for the long guns its just tacky as f*ck.

I think the bronze actually looks quite understated. It stands out less than basic gunmetal that most guns have as standard. IamCourtney
éX-Driver
It’s not like gold plating was some unheard-of thing in the old west. A gold plated gun with lots of rings and dandy clothes was the outfit of an outlaw gambler who made it big. Annie Oakley and Wild Bill Hickok both had gold plated revolvers as their preferred handgun. In singleplayer I had a second Colt 1873 revolver in my offhand that had a silver plated frame and barrel, and gold plated hammer and trigger and cylinder. With pearl grips. Gave it a very.. Mexican look. I’ll probably replicate it in online if we ever get a Colt 1851 or 1860. Or a Remington revolver. Gray-Hand

I've seen many pics of the guns used by famous gunfighters, even seen a few in person, but tbh I've never seen any famous fully gold-plated guns from that era. I know it wasn't common practice; all the guns I've seen were dark finish or nickel. But this is a R* game so anything goes!
Gray-Hand
Depending on how things go with these careers that they are bringing in - if I ever manage to become Dictator of Guarma, the first thing I do will be to buy a gold plated revolver. Leftover Pizza
The frames of my Volcanics are still brass, but I can't give enough of a damn to spend 4 gold bars to colour them black and not seeing any of it during my normal gameplay at all. DarksunDaFirst
I don't mind them - mainly because it's users choice. I've seen some great guns out there that don't use any gold - but rather a mix of blackened steel and bronze or blued steel and silver. It's an upgrade over RDR1 where gold guns were rewarded based on headshots with a weapon. I believe they gave you a title too (I miss the titles).
