Testing it for ability of 100% completion without issues.

Btw managed to add 4th font for pager and ammo numbers like on ps2 :)

hope that will be optional thing for smaller hud, always hated the look of ammo counter on ps2

Hell, what a work. Seriously thinking on play Stories games on PSP with this modification on it. I hope some stuff will be optional though.

Yes. I testing it right now, passed 76% of game, including playground in the dock, playground in the park, crims on water wings, hyman memorial odt, rush and caddy daddy without crashes 👌

Yes that's model bug. Psp version originally renders dynamic and pickups models which are located inside level files (to reduce streaming memory usage I guess, but it can be easily turned off), but for ps2 they removed that ability and made usual mdl/tex models to be rendered. Looks like these bugged models were in that condition when developers generated map files

oh, ok, i will wait then until the bugs of the icons and the grill of Strafish island gets fixed, the only bugs i've found until now

Ps2 assets contains patched ps2 main.scm file with extra missions, additional rampages and stunt jumps which obviously incompatible with original psp saved games. Don't replace it or just remove saved games and start new game. I will upload my compatible save file later

Oh man. What can I say. This is the best mod I've had the pleasure using in my GTA history.

 

These were my first GTA experience on PSP back in the day. Emulating them on PPSSPP was smoother and a lot sharper resolution wise then PCSX2. But I disliked the big hud on PSP. So I preferred the PCSX2 version because it had better graphics and smaller hud but still it was a lot blurrier, and PCSX2 also really runs choppy and adds a lot of input lag. I hoped but never actually expected to get to ever play the stories as glorious as this.

 

So I followed your instructions closely with LCS, and used a program to modify VCS's ISO with your files and I really can't believe my eyes. This is PSP's and PS2's best features combined and the closest we'll ever get to a full PC port. It's freakin glorious.

 

This is the first time I've used this account in more than 10 years, just to say thank you. This is awesome and I'm starting my first full playthrough of the stories since 2006 when GTA VCS was my first GTA experience.

@miekeke Thanks man. You can also use LCS ps2 gamedata for remaining ps2 stuff like timecycle, more dynamic objects on map and more

Cheers man. I used lcsConv to replace files in model folder (commer.img, commer.lvz, and the rest of the files) and also Game.dtz & GTA3PSPHR from your converted gamefiles and eboot.bin converted with lcsConv.exe if it's that what you mean with PS2 game data :)

 

Only bugs I noticed were in VCS, the transparent fence in Starfish Island and health icon. But really satisfied with the game as is. Only improvement I could see is increasing draw distance in both games, but it's already a pleasure to play these just like this.

I see there is no mention of the multiplayer mode on this thread so i decided to try it out with the ps2 assets. the result was a freeze seconds after the game starts.

so turns out using the .bat file to convert all of the files at once caused the freeze, so i just had to just convert the eboot.bin on its own(while using the .bat that came with the download to convert the other files)

as for VCS? majest1c distributed the already converted files which unfortunately has the freeze on mp(and most palm trees seem to dissapear secs before the freeze for some reason???) so we'll just have to wait until he releases an vcsconv.exe.

Is there a way to implement the VCS PS2 trails effect into this tool? It adds a nice touch to the game, also makes neons to look a lot nicer.

 

For LCS, I can't remember if has trails on PS2.
