degjete3 balwan
So I wanted to change the pager ringtone and found out that it is in the sfx.raw file, so I searched around and found Nullpointers audio tools, and replaced the sound. The file built successfully but the game kept crashing on loading, and before you ask, I kept the length and frequency the same as the original. I replaced my sfx.raw file and searched around some more and found LithJoe's GTA3 Audio Editor. Replaced the sound again, and it worked, but there is one problem. Every single damn sound in the game cuts off around 1-3 seconds after it starts (depends on the length of the sound). Am I doing something wrong? I am using Windows 10 with GTA 3 1.0 and SilentPatchIII

guard3
Make sure that your wav is singed 16-bit pcm. And shameless advertising, but I recommend using g3SFX for sfx editing (make sure there's no looping for it)
degjete3 balwan
I have 2 options for wavs in my editing program, NIST Sphere and Microsoft which one should I use? I tried out your program and reconfigured the example.ini file and when I'm dragging it on the exe it just opens for less than a millisecond and closes. Here is my config file, please check if I did something wrong. I'll try these 2 formats on LithJoe's audio editor for now.
degjete3 balwan
Ok I so I tried these formats and nothing changed, I think the problem is with the audio editor, since I only changed the pager boop beep but everything gets cut off .
guard3
Try editing with Audacity. It’s free and cute. Also this should be what you need for list list = D:\pobrane\g3SFX\sfx.lst

guard3
If you run g3SFX through the commandline, what error do you get?
degjete3 balwan
i drag and drop the settings file on the g3sfx exe and it just opens for less than a millisecond and closes with no message
guard3
g3SFX is a commandline tool. Drag n’ dropping is a convenience thing. If you run it from the commandline, it’s gonna show some message. If you don’t know how to do that, then press winkey+R, type 'cmd' and hit enter. In the console drag n’ drop g3sfx.exe, hit space then drag n’ drop the ini file, so you have smth like this: "c:\...\g3sfx.exe" "c:\...\myini.ini" then hit enter and see what the error says
degjete3 balwan
i got an error and i fixed it, later rebuilding the sfx.raw results in sounds cutting off again
guard3
sounds?
degjete3 balwan
yes, soundS, not just the pager beep beep, but every single sound in the game (except mission sounds because these are not in the sfx.raw), I'm starting to think that the issue is with my game and not the editors
guard3
Is your new wav the correct type? Signed 16-bit pcm wav? If not, maybe the header is parsed incorrectly and the offsets of other sounds *may* get misalligned, thus making them sound cut. If you use g3SFX with no modification to the sounds it should produce a 1:1 copy of the original files for example. degjete3 balwan
Little-endian or big-endian? I'll try with the non edited sounds.
guard3
I think it's little endian.
degjete3 balwan
I'm really sorry for wasting your time, it turns out CLEO was the reason for cutting the sounds of since I used a frame limit adjuster. after removing it even the edited SFX.RAW works, but I have two questions, what do the abuse sounds for peds mean? What is the difference between abuse and fight sounds?
