I personally want my character to look like a civilian and I don’t like the gun belts and I don’t want her to wear one. . I’m never ever buying an offhand holster either because ive heard you can’t unequip them . I never have guns on my back either but I’m always stuck with a belt, pistol, and a knife !!! I’ve read it’s maybe because I went with the burly body type and am overweight for some reason. Commander S Posted June 11, 2019 Share Posted June 11, 2019 Same, OP - IMO, if you can auto-equip an entire outfit off your horse, then you should be able to auto-equip a gun belt when selecting your sidearm. And, likewise, have the option for 'none' on your horse, just like how you don't need to have a shoulder/back longarm weapon equipped all the time. Granted, a lot of the outfits (particularly long coats) are designed to hang open on the right side, to make room for the side holster - I guess it'd look weird to have them stay pushed back like that with nothing there (and this being R*, I don't see them reworking clothing to hang properly with the holster removed... ). But yeah, if it's perfectly fine to leave a bow or shotgun on your saddle and do without a longarm weapon entirely, I don't see why players can't also go completely unarmed, or just use longarm weapons. It'd be good for photography, good for role-play, open up some interesting tactical choices in missions, and all sorts of other possibilities. And agreed, @areyouchappin - it's really annoying that we can't have things like shoulder holsters, or twin holsters. After all, Dutch has both his Schofields on his hips - it wouldn't be impossible to adapt his combat animations (same as how all current RDO animations are based on Arthur - and all GTAO ones are a mix taken from Michael/Franklin/Trevor) to allow us to do the same. I haven’t been using an offhand holster in my 6 months of playing, specifically because it looks awkward and it clips on a few things. It’s pretty silly how the game doesn’t even let you un-equip an offhand holster either once you equip it, unless you equip a previously saved outfit. The worst part is even if you manage to do all of that, if you un-equip your offhand at any gunsmith, the weapon will re-equip itself once you get on your horse. I can see that being fixed in the near future... or permenantly just being a thing. As far as I’m concerned, as long as I have a shotgun and a rifle/repeater, I’m not using pistol/revolver. I bought the offhand holster from the catalogue tho, and have never done anything more with it. So I have two revolvers, but it dosnt show an offhand holster on my char. Its weird seeing our characters grab stuff and proceed to try and stuff it in a satchel that is no not there. It uses the same animation Arthur does. Your character just places it on your side where a satchel should be and just disappears. I thought that looked weird to me. I guess any of the paid for outfits will do too. They don’t have the off-hand holster but you can still carry two hand guns. Will it only be gun belt that go around the waist or the one that goes over the shoulder too? Will it be just the belt of holster too? If you remove them will you still be carrying the weapons?
