Volatollotalov
I played it not long after it first came out, and in the last few years I've been online only. Then about a month ago I played the campaign again from start to finish over a couple of weeks. It's kind of interesting, with years of seeing GTAO as the norm you really do notice a lot more. You get a feel for how the game evolved and branched-off online, and how the online version in some ways strips out quite a lot of detail from the game as it was originally intended. It also brings home just how old some of it now feels. It literally took me back to a different time in my life! If you haven't played the story for years I'd really recommend trying at least a few missions again.
KarimNTerr
Finished it the day before yesterday, 100%ing/getting Gold medals in missions now, plus having fun with the R* Editor Gonna restart it all over again perfecting everything I did in my first playthrough and then join GTA Online NewGuybj
RockSantos
I played through GTA V's campaign fully for the fist time in June of 16' on 360 and the last time was August of last year on PS4, and I am just about to start over and play through again on PC, along with all the other titles NewGuybj and Dryspace
NewGuybj
I still played it. Fun game. Single player is enough for me.

Do you have original copies, or if not, are you going to try patching in the original music where applicable? I want to try all of the earlier games on PC before my second playthrough of GTA V (I've already messed around with GTA 1 & 2) but everything's such a mess--from horrid performance, to port-of-a-port-of-a-port telephone versions, to missing music (a deal breaker for me)--that I haven't gotten around to doing anything yet. Heaven forbid it were as easy as just paying Rockstar for a nice, complete, working product. And they definitely would make a profit if they offered such a ground-breaking thing. Nothing remotely close to the profit of new games/Shark Cards, but a profit nonetheless, which is all that should matter. I have GTA 3, SA, and VC on PS2 along with IV on 360, I wasn't aware that there were so many problems with the GTA ports on PC, having just got my PC. I was going to pick up the complete collection for my B day here soon, but if there are many issues I might pick up RDR2 instead. I'll have to look into it some more first, mostly because I thought it would be a lot easier to have them all on PC, especially for streaming purposes. gtafaninwest
I still play SP and do the campaign when I'm playing every game chronologically. I don't care for Online and haven't played it since 2015. Dryspace
Giantsgiants
Yes, but I still feel that GTA IV's story was written better. Official General
Americana
Hmm... I've just finished it for the second time in a row. Grand Theft Auto IV is my favourite Grand Theft Auto game and, in my opinion, it's just much better than Grand Theft Auto V in terms of everything, but... I enjoy playing this game, too. Sleepwalking
Planning to play again. I started playing old games from SA. I'm in the middle of IV right now. When it's over, there is EFLC and then the turn will come to V. Every time I play, I realize again taht what a great game GTA SA is.

Americana
I've just finished the game, again. What can I say... The Third Way is a very tedious of a mission. What were they thinking? iiCriminnaaL
Nappy
I ain’t a big fan, but i’ll never forget the first time i played it. It felt like a sweet dream. I was impressed by a lot of things(at the time i didn’t know about IV yet). It feels pretty nostalgic to me despite not feeling so amazing anymore. god speed
Too bad I made the mistake of approaching GTA V like I did with GTA IV. It's safe to say I wasn't so impressed. Regardless of my complaints, I'm still planning on doing a full first-person view playthrough at some point later. That's how I did my first playthrough. If your goal is to become as immersed as possible in a game/world, it's the only way to go (Though that doesn't mean a game can't be very immersive in third person of course--just not to the same degree in my opinion...and it depends on how the TP camera is designed). Also, I don't know what kind of setup you normally game on, but for immersion you should get as close to your display as your resolution will allow in order to increase your actual FOV (think IMAX), and then increase the in-game FOV to compensate for the closer viewing distance (otherwise everything will be "zoomed-in"). For GTAV this requires a simple utility: 'GTA V FoV'. It works perfectly, even offering separate FOV adjustment for TP, FP Walking, FP Driving, FP Aiming, FP ADS, and FP Crouching. god speed
KatanaDV20
Im on my 4th playthrough of the story right now. This is my first time playing the story on PC so I've modded the OFFLINE game to have some fun. I hate the Oppressor Mk II in Online but in Offline its so great. I spawn it instantly for any mission and its fun just bumming about on it. At one stroke its made every other vehicle redundant. I've become good at controlling it and can fly around at walking speed thru doorways buildings etc. Its not the best storyline and some bits really drag on for too long (Trevor torturing the dude etc) but its still fun. Im at a roadblock now though. Im at the point in the game where Micheal and Trevor are exiled from the City. So I play as Franklin but the next mission does not trigger at all. For days I've been roaming around trying to trigger something.

god speed
I constantly feel kinda demotivated to start another playthrough when I know how annoying the characters are going to be and how rigidly scripted the missions are. I think GTA V is at its finest when I just mess around in free roam with tons of mods installed to correct Rockstar's dumb decisions. I dread to even think how royally Rockstar needs to screw up to make GTA 6 even worse. I hate to bash GTA V all the time but honestly it deserves it. Nappy
The mission, characters, story, cutscenes are trash for real. This isnt official complaining thread but there are reasons why someone may not still play the campaign.

Probably the highlight of the game for me. I replay some missions just for them. Nappy
It''s about what's going down in the cutsenes to me, enough of trevors tits and jerking off jokes. GoI'd technology doesn't mean it is used in a good way.
billiejoearmstrong8
I also like Trevor so that's OK with me haha. But there's lots of cool dramatic scenes as well. The confrontation in Bury the Hatchet comes to mind, or even just the one where Trevor trips and then argues with Franklin, which is both funny and good drama. I enjoy almost all the cutscenes honestly, I think they're even better than IV's at times (and that's definitely high praise coming from me). The acting in particular is extremely good.
