OG I can totally understand where you're coming from and if I had a decent gaming PC I would probably give it a go to invest some time into mods, but then again there are some things mods can't fix sadly like the story, characters etc. I still hate CJ after all these years (is there a mod that replaces him with Niko atleast? 😛). Convince me it's worth modding haha.

Lol fair enough, but you should still try it. I don't really like the outlaw biker gang stuff, and I don't think too much of Johnny Klebitz either - but I still gave TLAD a try and I grew to like it enough to keep on playing it. TLAD is still my least liked game of the IV trilogy, but I still kind of enjoyed it. I suggest you take a leaf out of my book, and just try SA again. Save for the Mike Toreno stuff, the story is even better when you fully understand it.

And yes you can replace him with Niko, or whoever you want, but I suggest doing that in free roam after the story.

Anyone? Just curious since a lot of people seem to play Online and never touch the story after the prologue.

Funny story: I was about to post a thread asking whether anyone still played GTO and whether it was ever worth their time -- I've only ever played the campaign.

  1. Start GTO
  2. Experience same problems as GTA IV MP: get creamed every six microseconds by someone with a rocket launcher and nothing better to do with their time
  3. Quit to private mode
  4. Can't do nothing in private mode
  5. Close game
  6. ???
  7. Profit!!

When I saw what people were ABLE to do in private sessions in gta4MP, I remain to this day insanely jealous that my MP experience was completely dominated by jerks with cheat-toys yet there was much fun to be had. Nevertheless, I learned my lesson from 4MP that I've just never bothered again with GTO. Was it good? Or was it just a way for R* to make more money from 13yo's?

Anyway, I'm probably derailing -- sorry, OP -- to answer the question, I still do, and am presently on my third or fourth play through. Was about to start playing actually.

I never enjoyed V anywhere near as much as IV, not that you asked -- the story blows -- but I've played all the other GTAs to absolute death that going back is hard.

gta online finished the series. imagine its features in singleplayer with franlin michael and trevor.speaking protagonists who have actual personalities and not just robots.online features are just some other game codes and can be copied to singleplayer in a second if rockstar wants

Copying game code still couldn't have replaced the potential that could have been properly integrated story DLC. It still pisses me off that Rockstar first teased the SP DLC idea and then silently scrapped it. No amount of mods could fill that gap.

I will still replay GTA V multiple times in my lifetime despite my issues with it, but Online couldn't interest me less, I won't touch that thing.

don’t people like sp dlcs. tlad and tbogt were awesome. does it mean they don’t like good stories and choose garbage pointless robberies and things like that in gta online? simply rockstar doesn’t make the money from sp they do from online so they choose it

I know. I just meant that without that business model we could have seen something much better than current Online features copied to singleplayer.

They didn't perform as well as they thought they would. People mainly stayed in online even in IV, unfortunately.

Once I've finished with doing as much as I can to 100% the 5 3D era games, I'm switching to PS3 and playing IV. TLAD, TBOGT and V again for the stories.

Don't fancy all the 200 pigeons this time round!

I've been getting a problem where whenever I play as Franklin for extended periods of time I can't save or switch and sometimes the game will freeze and CTD which is preventing me from finishing the side missions. I'm thinking it might be due to my gameconfig, but I've tried my own custom one and the other two really popular ones on GTA5Mods. Nothing fixes the issue.

One of the the best "GTA" characters for sure. Him and CJ both are almost perfect for the series. Though "The Best" is debatable.

Uhhh, wat?

Weird, never happens for me. Maybe it's because I'm playing on a different system. (Or maybe the game is just racist, lol)

Yep!

It's a GTA, lol, I'll always replay the stories once a year or more. Story mode here is so much more alive and dynamic than online. The wildlife, the more NPC's and traffic, the quirks like flying through windscreens when crashing, too much fun.

No matter where online heads, story mode is very much my priority with my GTA, RDR too though. :)

Sometimes I do for ether replaying story missions or just dicking around with SP mods. It's a nice break from the chaos of GTA Online.

I heard it was amazing but .. Despite that i immediately went and purchased a Desktop just to skip the entirety of the story mode just to mod. Rofl. im  quite horrible indeed.

If I particularly enjoy a game, I always replay it every couple of years or so. I didn't play GTA V until the end of 2017, so I'm looking forward to my second playthrough--though now that I have a 4K display, I may be forced to wait until I get a better GPU.

Just restarted a vanilla save and taking my sweet time exploring... its so good and I was so foolish to trash the game all these years. I always rushed though the current gen version and never took my time. Now I'm noticing all these details I never noticed before and really listening to the radio instead of just turning it on for the sake of turning it on.  I'm actually liking Franklin more and more the more time I spend as just him.

Can you pinch me to see if I'm dreaming or not? This has to be a dream... I never thought this game could get a revive after all of the bashing back then on here. lol

Whoops. Somehow I forgot to address is.

The furthest I got in San Andreas when I really gave it a red hot go was up to Las Venturas in like 2014. I mean yeah I know I bash San Andreas A LOT, but I can't say I only played the game once and threw it away. In all my previous attempts I just came to the same conclusion I always have. It's not for me. It's not that I don't understand the story...I just don't think it's that interesting so I don't see much point trying to force myself to like something I really don't.

I think with a game like TLAD it's easier to take in because of being much shorter so even if you don't like the biker stuff all that much there are other things about it that give you a chance to grow towards. Even if I liked San Andreas as much as most people do on this forum it's a long game and there are other (newer) games I'd rather be playing.

Just the way it is bro.

I love the single player so much I usually like to mess around with stock market in game and just go on rampages with Michael (love his bullet time ability) I’m still at 92% competition I can’t bring myself to do all the Knife flights and the other assassination investments yet it’s just to fun to mess around

Honestly, i cannot tell a lie here, but i actually do play story mode whenever i feel like it.

I'm usually working towards 100% completion and also that gold medal achivement. (Near the 80% mark)

Funny fact is i've spent more money on Franklin and Michael than i have with Trevor.

I did play earlier tonight, but i was in a weird mood and wanted to pull a Jackass stunt and jump from the roof of Michaels house and dive into his shallow pool, tried to get up there with a truck, but i could not reach the top of the house so i had to go and grab a helicopter, but i got distracted with finding one of those random custom cars that you see sometimes right by Devin's hangar, took that, modded it and stored it in a garage.

Grabbed my cargobob, but for some reason i focused more on dropping cars from the cargobob via the hook and seeing what would happen.

I get distracted too easily... :3

Just finished my current save and well old habits don't die I guess so I chose to kill Trevor.

But my motivation was different this time. Not out of hate, but he really becomes a loose canon so even though it leaves massive plot holes open like how Stretch, Wei Cheng, Haines and Weston aren't dealt with I just saw it from a perspective that Michael and Trevor's relationship was passed mending so he had to go  If I play through the story again it'll be Death Wish this time. Killing Michael has never made much sense to me.
