RACING : A New Way of doing PIT STOPS in GTA:O

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so if this isn't the right section, feel free to move it.

This post concern and is directed toward the Racing Community of GTA Online, or any Racer in general that tends to like "proper" racing.
I wanted to share this idea and submit a New Way of doing Pit Stops, get opinions and get to know what people would think of this alternative method.

I've made a short video to show visually what I mean.

Adding to the video I will list some Pros and Cons of the New method I couldn't put in.
The PROs of the New way are basically the CONs of the Classic way, same goes for the CONs being the PROs of the other.

You will understand as well the Goals of the New way. Very basically saving memory for the Creators and doing more "real-alike" Pit Stops during gameplay.

New Method : PROs
- No Molotov needed in Creator. Saves memory space for creating the track, especially when updating or converting older tracks.

- Compatible with more tracks. As not all of them have Molotov Items placed.
- No need to select the Molotov weapon while driving/racing. Which can be bothering to do and/or cause issues/crashes.

- Cheaper, Ammo are easier to get and refill
- Actual Stop...  as in real life "Pit Stops".
- The Pit Stop is now dependant on a Human interaction. Depending on the competence of the Player, the faster he can manage it, the faster he can get back on track. Which adds a new challenge aspect to the race.

New Method : CONs

- Health Items do block your character from rising his gun and do block bullets. (creator can adapt his item placement on the track)

- Actual Stop... It may be bothering to actually stop and get out of the car. (I can understand it)

- It may be dangerous getting out of the car, if there is too many players in the Pit Lane at the same time.

- You don't like change ;) 😛

Pit Stops in GTA Online are a Gentlemen's agreement, and I am sure racers can just as well practice these new ones the same way they currently do the old ones :)
I like racing just as much as creating racetracks. if you feel concerned or, if you're bored, let me know what you think.

I will update this post if necessary or if new ideas rises up.

I've been out of the loop for competitive racing in GTA for a while, please explain why you must pick up a wrench? Is it too keep track of how many people are putting?

Hmm...
The Wrench Item give full health back to your character and fix your car... depends how you get to it (that's why you need to use the Molotov this way or shoot the car. (Ehh it's Rockstar programming this...)
They reappear after some time.

This is why we preshoot our car before the race. 100% guaranteed the wrenches will fix your car.

Your very brave for using a GTO on a city track btw. 😄

^ Yup. And it's a shame Rockstar haven't seen fit to release that mechanic into the creator for people to use in their own creations.

As for OP's query, the wrench issue has persisted for a few years so if I need to make a pit stop (by pre-race rule) then personally I make sure to prang into a wall or two before entering the pit to ensure the wrenches deem me worthy of repair.

Getting out of the car to either shoot or melee it seems counter-intuitive and (as OP showed) not always possible / practical.

This is the reason we shoot our cars or use a molotovs as for some reason, the wrenches sometimes/often do not repair if the damage is not from a source outside the vehicle.

Before we pre-shot our cars, a pit registration person would shoot our cars when entering the pits to make sure wrenches worked on tracks without molotovs.

Thanks for the explanation, now I get it.

I didn't know you would shoot your car before the race ^^
Clever, for 1 Pit Stop.

lol I used it... to purposefully crash as much as I could. I needed to test if (natural) heavy damage would get repaired ^^
