Fireman
Name: Baldur's Gate 3 Developer: Larian Studios Publisher: Wizard of the Coast (?) Platforms: GOG, Steam and Google Stadia Release Date: Unknown, seems to be within a few years. Website: baldursgate3.game Some of you might have already heard, but Baldur's Gate 3 has been officially announced. It will be developed by Larian Studios, who also developed Divinity: Original Sin II. Official teaser: First development update (about obtaining the D&D license from Wizard of the Coast) As Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn is my favorite game of all time (I own over 20 versions of the game), I'm skeptical, but I must admit I haven't played OS II yet. However it will be a new adventure since the original Baldur's Gate finished with Throne of Bhaal, but there will be references to previous games and Wizards of the Coast seems to be closely involved, so the D&D aspect will turn out proper. BG III will be shown at E3 during the PC Gaming Show. Edited June 7, 2019 by Fireman
Slappy212
Larian is the perfect developer for this. Loved Divine Divinity back in the day. K^2

Jason
According to Hasbro (who I assume own the Baldurs Gate IP?) this will be launching in early access at the end of the year. Not sure how I feel about that tbh. Kinda want this to launch when it's ready and fully playable, I can wait of course, but early access RPG's are weird to me. Jason
Anyone catch the gameplay reveal? As someone who didn't play the first two Baldurs Gate games but adored Original Sin 2, I am reeeeeeeeeally looking forward to this. Looks fantastic. Love the third person camera option (isometric is still there), the new combat options from Div 2, the close up conversation camera w/ the great looking character models and the deeper version of the systematic gameplay and combat they had in OS2. Larian gonna knock this one out the park I think. It'll be out in early access in a few months, who knows how long that'll last but I kinda want to avoid it and play it when it's finished. More classes and races to come after early access launches too. This and Cyberpunk topping my most wanted games right now for sure. Fireman
Here's a listing that does work: It's turn-based. Into the trash it goes. I did not really enjoy OS2 much, though I plan on giving it another chance and play it longer, this also hasn't really impressed me except for the setting and cinematics (the dialogue is weird). Did not enjoy the puzzle section, in fact I thought the picking up items as some God was my most disliked feature in OS2. Jason
Yea turn based seems to have caused a stir for some, understandably so. I know the Baldurs Gate series was RTwP but I think it's the right move for Larian to stick with what they're good at, and Div OS2's turn based combat was genuinely 10/10. Creed Bratton
As someone who used to dislike turn-based combat, I have to admit that DOS turn based combat won me over and turned me into a believer. So I'm hyped.
Awful Waffle
so it's official? the game will be turn-based? supremely disappointing. nothing more boring and outdated than turn-based combat. oh well... decent hype while it lasted... lndex
