Decided I wanted to incite more discussion about this classic game. Which time of day do you guys prefer, the day or the night? I personally think the game looks the best at night with the amount of detail put into the lights from the buildings, but having grown up with the PS1 version of the game I'm going to have to go with 'day'.

Depends upon what time of day it is that I'm playing GTA 2 - though I prefer to play the game at night, so dusk it is for me.

Noon usually, because it's easier to see things. Dusk has some atmosphere, however.

Dusk has a better atmospherer however I play at noon most of the time.

Agreed. The crazy amount of lights on every building kinda help with the retrofuturistic setting the game is going for, but I just have an attachment to noon.

I grew up with the Dreamcast version so I usually pick Dusk. Not to mention it fits the atmosphere that way

Dusk it is! I like to see the lights from sirens and buildings. The game is suitable for a dusk setting. Noon is easier though.

I guess dusk is the default, it feels more "developed" than noon because of all the lights.

Depends on which version of the game you're playing. If you grew up with Dreamcast, you got the dusk setting, if you had the Playstation version, you would have the noon setting. Not sure how it is on the GameBoy version but on PC it'll give you the option between dusk or noon.

Ah right, I think PC has it switched to Dusk default but I might be wrong here. Either way it gives you a choice between the two times of day

I like both, switching between day and night, as and when I get bored of either of the two. I would like to see a mod adding day and night cycle.

I like dusk more. It has more ambiance and reminds me a lot of the pre-release screens. However, do I love seeing the shadows in the game that noon gives off.
