I have all the apocolypse vehicles and really like them, but the games themselves get so old and repetative so quickly, I just can't go back and play it. I think it's firmly aimed at little kids who grew up on fake wrestling. The voiceovers, the lights and sounds and all the rest of it. I'm happy to forego all the RP and money to ignore the whole week.

 

Now, on the other hand, if R* had actually used their brains and acknowledged that this was just a game mode with bells on and not an update, they would have expanded it and taken it out on tour across the map, not just confined it to the Arena. The possibilities of what you can do wiht those vehicles across all kinds of terrain are endless.

 

Instead, they just stuck them in the creator so we can make races that no one else will ever play.

If you just want the wheel, I believe you can to the ticket counter at the Arena and it'll let you play the wheel in an arena war that's already in progress.

 

And @GT Aedan, the Issi Classic is totally worth it. Such a fun little go-cart.

Two more: Buzzer Beater (die or don't make the first checkpoint) and Hot Bomb (die or time out with the bomb), if all you want to do is roll that wheel and go for AP.

 

Played AW last night and all I got was repeats of Tag Team and Games Masters. Did not get to roll the wheel once!

 

Generally speaking, I am a fan of AW and won't moan/bitch about how awful it is, due to the amount of detail that went into the props, vehicles, player board, wheel, RC bandito, and awards and trophies. Granted, the entire DLC is based on a bundle of reutilised and rather basic adversary modes, and the whole thing seems slow and cludgy between games - it's just not that exciting - but those are my only real gripes.

I grew up watching wrestling (still do) and your reasoning can be applied to any remotely exciting sport or public presentation. The mode is clearly trying to blend Death Race (remake, not the original), Rollerball (again, remake and not the original), and other "look how depraved we get" sports found in cheesy dystopian fiction, all with the GTA package on it. 

 

It really should have been a straightforward competitive game mode of its own, and the pricing shouldn't have been as extreme for such paltry payouts.

Really? What ticket counter? Have I missed something? I know you can spectate from inside the arena if you own one.

I'll have to see tonight if it still works. Someone mentioned it on here awhile ago and it worked for me. Just walk up to the ticket counter outside and it'll give you the option (I think it costs $10).

Booted up my game today and was greeted with a splash screen saying I've been given $750k for taking part in GTA promotions. I was expecting $250k for completing a nightclub sell mission but I have no idea what the other half a mill is for.

I just got rewarded $500k for "participating in online activities"!  This morning I got the $250k bonus for doing the nightclub sales I assume.

 

Is the 500k also part of this or something separate?

This week is very weak in terms of making money but oh boy the eight bonus premium race is amazing, i won it many times and never gets boring. Such a lovely class sports classics.

The race is good but the slipstream is annoying considering it's a premium race. Although it's funny seeing people overshoot the corner onto the bridge over the highway and hit the concrete barrier.

And the checkpoint in that area is also terrible. If you get a little bit far from it , it won't register and your race is done. I was going to win with an infernus, but because of that checkpoint i lost the lead

In the mist of the casino hype, I missed this thread and I gotta say 2½x$ on robbing stores is very hilarious.

 

Discounts on the arena vehicle upgrades is very tempting, but I can't get myself to spend anything on upgrading my Scarab.

People are really sleeping on the 2.5X GTA$ for store robberies. I get $25,000 every 10 minutes with no cool downs like Headhunter. I’ve already made $700,000 from it today and it’s actually quite refreshing too.

That is a pretty weak payout for someone like me who is more established, but not bad at all for a newer player.

This isn’t including businesses and other activities. You’ll get more money doing this than waiting for CEO and Terrorbyte missions to complete and cool down. Plus this was on average. I’ve gained $60,000 in under 10 minutes collecting money from the clerk and cash register. It’s better than nothing.
