Meh. I still can't get into Arena Wars, but the extra garage space was nice and some of the cars were interesting; even though I haven't bought most of them or filled the garages. The game modes though; eh, no, I'm not a fan of most of them, even if they're x2.

 

No word from R* on the casino, eh? Not surprised, but I am surprised that it's headed our way. I can't wait for it! I just really, really hope they do it right and actually let us play casino games. It'd be a bit disappointing if it were just another carbon copy business endeavour where we couldn't actually play the games. I just hope it's not that!

I'm a big fan of Arena Wars, funnily enough. The thing that holds most people back is the cost of experimenting with the vehicles and all their exorbitant upgrades. There should be an easier way of experimenting before committing to one of the styles. You can easily spend 50 million filling out a single floor and mixing and matching vehicles, I'm not kidding. Not only that, but there's no income from AW once you've invested in it all other than playing the inbuilt adversary modes, which isn't quite the same thing. It's a lot of cash for not a lot of cash back.

 

For all that, I still really like it. People who don't get it, particularly @-LN-, try investing in your trophy cabinet and going for all the awards. See if you can get some trinkets and stickers for your AW wall and shelf, and maybe aim for some of the Pegasus prize vehicles like the taxi or dozer. It's fun.

 

The t-shirts are pretty cool this week for a change. And we're another week closer to the next DLC!

 

Also, @ALifeOfMisery. Good luck with your extra commitments in life - imminent fatherhood, extra work, etc. The only advice I can give you is, don't worry. Sometimes if feels like there's no light at the end of the tunnel, i.e., no time for video games, but it will cycle round eventually. It did for me. I moved to another country, got married, had three kids, and completely gave up on video gaming for about five years, then suddenly one day...

I loved most of the arena, my kind of PvP.

 

But I can't lie, thinking about it's AP ranking up/unlocking system and the potential of the casino at the same time is a bit scary too.

 

Could be a game changer for the good too if the feedback was genuine and adds to it all though. (I know the DLC thread is alive, but that arena has a dark side, lol).

Definitely, the price tag is a huge factor; I've now managed to save up to about 45M for whatever comes with the Casino update, but I felt as though if I heavily invested in AW, I might regret it since I had a really difficult time getting into the game modes that I played. I'll have another look though; I've not even visited the workshop since I bought it, which was primarily for the garage space, but partially to stop the phone calls, lol.

Looking forward to the casino update, I'm curious to see how that will play out.

If it is configured similar to After Hours with PvE additions and soloable jobs, I'll be quite happy with it, if it's like Arena Wars and almost entirely PvP, needing other participants, then I'll spend a lot of time playing Red Dead 1 on my son's old 360, for which I now have a keyboard and mouse converter, since I just can't get used to using a controller, particularly the Rt stick, just too awkward.

I'm really a PC guy through and through.

Definitely don't waste your cash on crazy-priced AW vehicles if you're topping up 45 M for the next DLC. It's all aimed at siphoning off your cash anyway, but dabbling about never hurt .

I guess it's a saving my money up week for me this week, I could never get into the arena wars stuff and luckily I never got any stuff from it. It would be more cool if arena wars was towards going up against NPCs also instead of just actual players.

Surprised/disappointed the Nokota isn't on sale, considering the 75th anniversary of the Normandy invasion and all that. Still, I'm finally getting a Sasquatch, Bruiser, and Arena Slamvan, so I'm all set until the next update.

Since Rockstar got rid of the comments on their own site, this has been the only semi-organized place to converse, and these threads are a step above the Next DLC Speculation Thread madness. Good luck with all the life stuff, I understand it can be a wild ride.

I only have $23 millions. I don't own any of the Arena War garages or vehicles, and I don't plan on participating on any of the Arena War activities. Is it really worth buying a garage or two to fill it up with vehicles I think could look cool?

Absolutely. For a car collector the arena did that part right given its dripfeed was loaded with good looking rides.

 

It'd make a good garage for race livery cars if you've any. Classics or weaponised too, IMHO.

Holy sh*t this might just actually be the worst double cash week in this game's entire history. Convenience store robberies? What a f*cking joke. Pretty sure they went straight to Strauss Zelnick himself for ideas this time. 

 

All the double cash payouts are sh*t and all the arena cars are on sale. This is a trick to get you to spend money that you can't recoup with the double cash events unless you rob a million stores. They want to drain bank accounts which can only mean the next update is coming real soon.

Mrs. Misery will be fine, the preeclampsia shouldn't be too much to worry about and I've got the benefit of having worked in the medical/healthcare sphere for a good few years, so I tend not to get worried unless I know there's something to worry about.

 

Baby Misery is doing fine too as far as can reasonably be known.

 

@Jenkiiii I'm not usually one to stress, but f*ck me, someone needs to do something regarding Brexit, I'm having to plan contingencies for the contingencies just to shut our owner up. The last nearly 7 years have been spent with him allowing me to do my thing and make him money, but now he thinks his holiday home and Bentley might be affected he's in my ear every f*cking day.

 

@CaptainMarvel Who knows. If we ever devolve back to the point where there's thread sniping, weeks getting skipped when they're sh*t and the weeks which do get posted aren't getting pinned, well, my OCD might get the better of me.

Convenient stores don't give out too much money so no one is going to get rich on the 2.5x but I appreciate the gesture in that this week and last Rockstar has been giving some attention to the older features. I think at this life stage of the game though, contact missions and convenient stores should have double their payouts permanently (it certainly won't hurt Rockstar's and Take Two's bottom line).
