*Speculated* Casino DLC Discussion Thread

Given that a Casino update has been speculated, I thought it would be helpful to have a separate thread to discuss so posts don't get mixed up in other elements of the Next DLC Speculation Thread.

I'm very hyped for this. I love spending time player poker in RDO at the minute. I'm curious how R* are going to implement this though. In RDO microtransactions are independent of earned in game money so real money can't be exchanged, obviously in GTO this isn't current the case.

Will there be a change to currency system as well? Will we own Casino's or simply play in a communal environment?

I can't see the latter being a big money maker but would be fun nonetheless.

I don't think we'll be able to own it, I think it'll be a location of sorts that we can visit.

We can “own” a luxury VIP suite inside. With our own personalized garage and business hub. A silent partner for the Casino owner who’ll probably be a character from Las Venturas 👍🏻.

man I have been waiting for this to happen since 2013! lol  I'm going to guess they will make a new currency that probably will be chips that you can probably only earn doing missions or whatnot that way real money cannot be used.

needless to say. I'm excited!

To try and go along with how R* has implemented businesses in the past I would have to assume IF we are allowed to own a casino we won’t be able to gamble per se, but would have to draw high rollers in through keeping supplies maintained such as alcohol getting them drunk and having them lose money. If your supplies are low the high rollers will have a higher chance of winning and casino profits going down. Also, they could attach it to the nightclub where you escort the high rollers from the nightclub to the casino after a good night out (lol). But, we know how R* is, however, I would be OK with this setup.

Here's what it will be: we'll be able to buy some sort of office and garage inside, then a large vehicle with upgrades to allow us to customize cars and weapons, then a small vehicle (that everyone will complain about) that will fit inside that large vehicle.

And then we'll have missions where we have to go out and steal something, bring it back, and sell it later on.

Sound familiar?

Just kidding (sort of). I'm really excited to see where this goes.

This guy gets it.

I'm still cautiously optimistic for it though, at least it's not more Mad Max Thunderdome style nonsense

i hope we get more than a casino to play blackjack, poker etc.

while i would play a bit it wouldn’t really get me playing again.

i hope there’s a new business, maybe running your own illegal gambling place or collecting on debts from npcs. also a bunch of new vehicles.

actually that would be cool:

theres a main casino at the racetrack where everyone can play poker legit but you can also buy an building for npcs to gamble illegally (and you can participate with friends, even cheat) it would work broadly like the nightclub. you’d buy it, invest in some upgrades and make maybe 30k passive income an hour, and could do “debt collection” missions where you beat up npcs (or end up in gun fights) to get an additional payment of 30k when they come up.

There was a ton of talk while I watched a live stream last night, rather distracting as it was all officially unconfirmed until today, regardless of how reliable the leakers may be.

Now that it is confirmed, I'm looking forward to potential good times like those brought about by the nightclubs and associated business and job additions.

If done right, it will be great.

I think (and certainly hope) they learned a lot from RDO in the last few months about what players actually want.

Whatever this new DLC brings, it's good news for most of us!

A new DLC with new content, vehicles, clothes, etc. Something to look forward to in the coming months for our favourite game. And finally CASINOS. All that wasted potential finally coming to fruition. Most of us know that Martin Madrazo's country home Fuente Blanca is just down the road from the casino and has massive stables and land, so this will no doubt (definitely should) be involved in the DLC somehow.

And real gambling games would be such a nice touch for the community. Typically, gambling is seen as an addiction and negative part of society, but any chance for more social interaction with people, which doesn't involve spawn killing and messing up their day is a serious plus, even if it does mean winning/losing cash.

Good stuff. I'm chuffed.

What if we also get some sort of horse races at the race track? Like a mini game like Arena Wars? I'd put all my cash on the 9 horse.

Be funny if they removed the "Opening Soon" banner and put those construction objects because the casino is being demolished. Makes more sense than removing the banner when the grand opening is near.

Well, time to start banking up money. Fun 2 did recommend we save money (although that's a given for any DLC)

I might have to buy gta again. Disc broke. Looking forward for the complaining and glitches that’ll come with it.

Please, no; I'll cry. A lot! 😔😮

When I saw the news, I was beyond excited; the casino is what I've wanted most from the very beginning!

I know there are some strange laws within certain countries regarding gambling, both simulated and real, but other games do exist on console where you're able to purchase chips with real currency and play. These are dedicated casino and card games, but still; I truly hope that it's not going to be a factor and reduce them to not allowing us to actually play the table and card games within a casino. If it's orchestrated like the Nightclubs where we run the same missions over and over to keep the popularity up, I'm going to be highly disappointed! I'm really hoping they'll think a bit more outside the box and not model it after an existing business endeavour. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind some of the other businesses, but there's so much more that can be done with the Casino and it would be such a let down if only NPCs were able to gamble and it's just a reskin of an existing concept.

I'm ready to buy some new clothes, a couple of new cars, and go in and play some cards and roll the dice at the craps table! This would be such a welcome change from the state of what free roam has become as of lately. I know this is not and never will be a dedicated gambling game, but we need other stuff to do aside from collecting/selling product and/or stopping others from collecting/selling their product. That just gets a bit old after awhile.

I've learnt not to set my hopes too high, but I'm honestly more excited about this DLC than any other DLC we've ever had. I just really want to be able to enjoy and hope that it's executed well!

As it stands though, the same thing is being discussed in the main DLC thread, so please use that to discuss the Casino DLC.

Cheers. :)
