fartypants
I searched for something on this, please don't delete, mods. This is on pc version; seems like every time I sell 9 crates and get the little twin engine plane and the 0/6 drops, somewhere in there a helicopter shows up and starts shooting it's miniguns (these are the same choppers from the I/O cargobob mission; there is no defense other than outrun). The plane isn't fast or nimble enough to get away for long enough to not get destroyed especially when more helicopters show as you continue to deliver. Ok. so I try and land and get out and fight but the miniguns start to turn into explosive rounds like from an Avenger or something. Invariably the entire 9 crates are lost. Anybody else? Used to be you could outrun em or at least evade and tank until last crate was off, but they didn't seem to do as much damage. Is this another r* punishment for the solo grinder? Is there some new strategy I haven't copped to? Edited June 4, 2019 by fartypants forgot to ask directly
Taterman
I don't know of any strategy other than to land and take them out. Unless you have friend to cover you. The choppers seem to appear after the second or third drops.

Like a mod menu pansy or something, but I only try that particular sale in an empty lobby. I've tried this a couple of times now recently and it's the same. When was the last time you did this specific sale? Some new patch? I dunno.

I have two large warehouses that I fill up. Before selling them, I sell 9 crates from the small warehouse until I get a plane delivery. If you stay in that session, you will only get the trucks or boat next when you sell a large warehouse. Rinse and repeat. fartypants, Mistermilan07, Pedinhuh and 1 other

Oh, and if you get a "below the radar" type plane sale, there won't be choppers. fartypants and Rotorhead359

Very easy: At LSIA get in and out of the plane, then get in hydra/lazer jet or on opressor mk2. Go visit all yellow checkpoints and take down choppers. Then return to LSIA, get into the plane and fly safely :-o) Moose-Mayhem, Pedinhuh, Lonely-Martin and 5 others
kcole4001
I used to be able to fly higher at the drops than the Buzzards, and they are often too slow to climb to be able to catch you, but it doesn't always work. It's better to shoot them down first. Edited June 5, 2019 by kcole4001 fartypants

Gat_2011
that way also works for medium or large warehouses plane deliveries. Plane might be different (Titan instead of Cuban 800), Number of yellow spots might be bigger (10 instead of 6) But strategy in solo is the same: - get in and out the plane, - get in a lazer/hydra jet or on opressor mk2, - visit all yellow delivery points and take down choppers, - go back to LSIA, get in the plane and do the job fartypants

You have 30 minutes to complete the delivery ffs. You could scout the 3 helicopter locations in a Boxville and still have time to do 3x Cuban drops. Also stop wasting time selling such tiny amounts...you do know the per-crate value goes up the more you sell, right? These are the easiest sell missions in the game, as they were the first business and R* weren't as keen to screw us over/force us to play together. fartypants

Back in San Andreas days, I really couldn't fly. But after 20-odd thousand virtual miles in planes and choppers here, I got so much better. Quite glad too, always was a weakness of mine. High altitudes works as well as scoping out drop sites before you deliver. I do a lot of flying so do a lot of evasive maneuver practice with Cuban. Also, if you realise your not going to be able to make drops before you get destroyed, close your game immeadietly. You might lose some but not all of your cargo. When your get enough time in doing 9 crates you might want to start doing 27. 2 Brickades or 1 Tugboat. If I see "Go to LSIA" I change lobby right away. Bricade or Tug. Simple to deliver. Plane not so much. Changing lobby might loose me a crate or 3 but it still worth it .
