NEW PUBLIC ENEMY MODE AND RAILROAD BARON FREE ROAM EVENT

I've always been against exclusive content, especially when tied to the platform instead of special editions, pre-orders, etc. This is just punishing people that play on X-box, I shouldn't get exclusive content in a multi-platform game just because I'm playing on PS4.

Some of them let you sit on the bed inside. A bit inconsistent though - some expensive ones didn't, while a few mid-range ones did.

I've noticed this on races of late too. It is a bit frustrating but better than waiting and watching (as it's only a few mins until the next race). But for the freemode events that are rarer, I can only imagine.

 

If those freemode events grow, would be nice if they get categories and have one hunting/fishing one running at the same time as a more combat driven one. (And co-op, or shoot the targets one's or other dynamics they include - I don't play these so unsure what they all include).

The Showdowns, admittedly they aren't my thing, but ok, they are structured PvP and a separate entity.

 

But the freeroam events are garbage, most seem so disconnected from the RDO world. The fishing challenges are ok. But Dispatch Rider? Fool's Gold? The Animal Kills challenge is a mindless disappointment too.

 

How about simple things that might actually fit contextually in the RDO world? 

 

A Target Shooting event where you have rounds with different weapons and limited ammo, going from static targets like 6 cans on a fence to moving targets like birds to hitting targets while drunk, all free aim, speed and accuracy determine the winner.

 

A round robin duel tournament, revolver only, everyone duels everyone else once.

 

Things like breaking the most wild horses within a time limit, to lasso and subdue the most Ox or Bull within a time limit.

I do agree that PVP needs to slow down to maybe 1 every other update week and turn up on the missions or PvE content(cough* Survival cough*). I really don't like how they separate it into Showdown Large, Showdown, etc. I want my game modes separate so I can hope in a playlist of Up in Smoke, Spoils of War, etc. Now I also know if they do this it would be pretty obvious which modes get played more and which ones get so little time that its hard to get a full lobby on.

 

There are some PVP modes I know would get played if they made a separate playlist for:

Spoils of War

Up in Smoke

Team Shootout(need more maps for this)

Public Enemy(Even though I hate this mode a lot of people like it.) 

and maybe Last Stand

 

the rest idk.....I'd like to see what people would place in the "stay alive" or "dead" category if they made every game mode a separate playlists

There are a few folk on here that bought PS Plus when they offered xxx amount of gold each month for free and are not receiving it, Having been in touch with R* who tols them basically its not us its a PSN thing

Hey, maybe somebody can help me?

 

I would really like to do the new stranger mission Jailbreak, but I keep getting the Destroy Supplies missions from Shaky  and Sean MacGuire.

 

Did the Destroy Supplies once or twice and now I don't accept them anymore and return later. But maybe the missions don't randomly rotate and do I need to do the Destroy Supplies  to get the Jailbreak mission?

 

Amy tips?

Which ones though? I watched the video ( and thanks for that), but I only saw the sit prompt for the tent I mentioned. While they're one sale, I'm think about the the most expensive tent from standard or military surplus.

I've been lucky in that aside the odd report or error report through a crash, I've not had to call them for anything. (Touch wood tgat remains, lol).

 

But after reading that tweet, seems we're getting more bits beyond then too. Was thinking it could be a year long thing too, those buying plus last month get a monthly gift of gold, could be running alongside that. Just a theory, and probably not great reading for Xbox gamers.

I've only noticed it on the most expensive tent on the standard theme.

I did a jailbreak mission with Sean right after destroying supplies on a wagon carried by a convoy. It was a jailbreak mission that I did in Blackwater too.

I'm sorry, my memory is a little fuzzy. I have the most expensive tent for the military theme right now and haven't noticed it letting me sit. For the others, I'll have to check them and get back to you before the offer's over.

@CMCSAVAGE I had a quick look through the tents with all themes - the only one that let me sit on the bed was Travelling Opulence, Tall Lean-To. Bit strange, I'd have thought a couple would, but that's how it was.

Okay thanks. Still curious about the last tent in your video where it showed the sit prompt. Maybe I'll just buy it

Really? It wasn't letting me. Maybe it's different on different consoles? Or maybe the session I was in was a bit glitchy or something. Glad it worked out for you anyway.

I tried baron tonight finally.  I didn't care for it.  It could be because all the players were too busy shooting each other instead of going to the objective.  To me, if the goal is to take control of the train, shouldn't you not want to unseat the guy controling it first.

Sounds like classic game theory to me, the most undesired result is the one that naturally surfaces, when information cannot he shared. 

 

If you could somehow do this with a group of posse's that agreed not to open fire until a certain proximity of the train, it could he worth doing.

It's the same with master archer. Instead of shooting the targets everyone runs around shooting each other with anything besides the bow.

Ive done master archer before needing to get 3 kills in free roam but I must admit I felt dirty doing it, players seemed to be doing the archery and I’m trying to kill them.

Not gonna lie, I've done it too for the daily, but most of the other people were too then it was just a free for all once everyone seemed to get their kills.

I'd be cool with being able to shoot others with arrows during Master Archer but I hate that all weapons are allowed, especially when other free roam events restrict or disable player killing.

Never thought I’d hit the 28/28 day Daily Challenge streak but it just happened. I spawned in at Bard’s Crossing and checked. Lo and behold, a quick stroll to the river’s edge to pick some Bullrush was all I needed. A treasure map, Buckle and 700XP were promptly awarded. Not sure if I’ll do that again, will the 2.5 gold multiplier remain?

Good luck on that everyone, it’s tedious but ultimately satisfying.
